To run a 24/7 Gujarati garba and bhajan stream on YouTube, first confirm your channel can livestream, clear the rights to every composition and recording, then use an encoder configured for a stable, monitored broadcast. Rehearse the full setup—including recovery from a dropped connection—before putting it on air. A license does not necessarily stop YouTube from interrupting a stream: the rights owner may also need to allowlist your channel.
Check that your channel can livestream
YouTube supports livestreaming through mobile, webcam, encoder and console workflows. For a continuous music program with a planned playlist, visuals and production controls, an encoder is the relevant method to set up. You can use software encoding; YouTube recommends professional-grade hardware encoders for higher-production-value events, but does not make one a requirement.
- Verify the channel and confirm it has no live-streaming restriction from the previous 90 days.
- YouTube’s stated minimum age for livestreaming is 16.
- Decide who will monitor the stream and respond if the encoder, connection or audio fails.
Clear the music before building the playlist
Make a track-by-track rights inventory before scheduling the broadcast. For each item, record the title, composer and lyricist when known, performer, owner of the specific recording, audio source, permitted territories, license evidence, allowed platforms and formats, term, monetization permissions, and whether the channel must be allowlisted by the rights owner.
Check both the underlying composition and the particular sound recording. A devotional or traditional composition being old does not automatically clear a modern recording, arrangement or performance. Whether a particular track is cleared depends on the work, recording, agreements and relevant countries; do not assume Gujarati devotional music is free to use.

YouTube’s live-stream terms say: “You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights for the exploitation of the Live Content on the Google Services throughout the world, including, without limitation, music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers (including public performance licenses) and any other royalty participants.” Confirm that your permissions cover the actual live use and intended territories. If you plan to keep an archive or monetize the stream, verify those uses too.
Configure the encoder and YouTube event
- Create the event in YouTube Live Control Room. Set the title, description, visibility and schedule, then choose encoder streaming. YouTube’s available setup screens and controls may change, so follow the current prompts in Live Control Room.
- Connect the encoder. Use RTMP or RTMPS as supported by your encoder. Copy the stream URL and stream key from Live Control Room into the corresponding encoder fields. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it, and reset it if it is exposed.
- Set the video output. YouTube’s encoder guidance supports H.264, H.265 and AV1. Choose a resolution and frame rate that match your source and the upload connection you have tested. Avoid selecting a higher output than the source just to show a larger number; it cannot restore detail that is not in the recording.
- Set video encoding and audio. Use constant bitrate encoding. YouTube recommends a two-second keyframe interval and says not to exceed four seconds. For audio, use AAC or MP3. Confirm that the encoder is sending both the intended video and audio inputs.
- Choose a bitrate from YouTube’s current encoder settings table. The recommended bitrate depends on output format and resolution; use the current table rather than a remembered value. Measure upload speed from the location that will run the encoder and leave about 20% capacity headroom, as YouTube recommends. A speed test alone does not establish that a connection is stable for continuous use.
Rehearse the stream and prepare for interruptions
Do a full rehearsal before the scheduled start. Start the encoder feed, wait for it to appear in Live Control Room, and preview it before going live. Check that the watch page opens and that playback works on a phone as well as the device used for monitoring.

- Listen for clipping, silence, uneven track levels and unwanted gaps between songs.
- Check for a frozen image, black frames, incorrect aspect ratio or a visual that does not match the audio.
- Confirm that the local recording is being saved and that the archive file is growing, if your encoder workflow records locally.
- Test the backup encoder or failover procedure, rather than assuming it will work during an actual outage.
- Watch stream health and audio/video quality during the broadcast, especially after changing a playlist or encoder setting.
For round-the-clock operation, write down who or what monitors the stream, how silence, a frozen picture or a disconnection will be detected, and who restarts the encoder or switches to the backup. Decide how local recordings will be retained and checked. These steps adapt YouTube’s event setup, monitoring and backup guidance to a continuous program; YouTube does not promise uninterrupted 24/7 operation or prescribe a universal restart system.
Understand live music matching, allowlisting and archives
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it identifies a match, it may warn the streamer, replace the stream with a placeholder, interrupt it temporarily or terminate it if the matched content remains. If you have permission to use a track, ask the relevant rights owner whether they need to add your channel to their allowlist. YouTube says a licensed stream may still be interrupted without that step.

An allowlist is not a substitute for a license, and a license is not a guarantee that the platform will recognize the permission automatically. Keep written evidence of permissions and any allowlisting confirmation available to the person monitoring the broadcast. Archived livestreams may receive Content ID claims after the stream ends, so check the archive as well as the live feed.
Content ID is a rights-management system, not a way for a streamer to obtain permission. YouTube’s Content ID eligibility guidance concerns rights owners submitting reference material: they must have exclusive rights to the material, and continuous DJ mixes or compilations are not suitable as one reference; their individual components must be separated. A specialized live-stream matching feature is available only to certain eligible partners using Content Manager, under strict rights and ownership requirements. Ordinary creators should not assume they can use it to clear or protect a broadcast.

YouTube Creator Music tracks are not a workaround for a live playlist: the usage requirements for those tracks say videos cannot be livestreams. Check each track’s terms and obtain the permissions needed for your specific use. Music permission and platform monetization eligibility are separate questions; do not treat permission to play a track as confirmation that a channel or archive qualifies for monetization.
