The PC, encoder, source file and internet connection must keep working for the broadcast to continue. Before you begin, enable live streaming on your channel, clear the rights to every image and sound, and test the full setup.
What you need before going live
- An eligible YouTube channel: YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. First-time encoder streaming may take up to 24 hours to become available, so enable it at least a day before your planned launch. See YouTube’s live streaming eligibility guidance and encoder setup instructions.
- A Windows encoder: YouTube lists OBS as open-source software available at no charge. Its encoder guidance also lists Windows options including PRISM Live Studio, Streamlabs, Wirecast and XSplit; check each provider for current availability and terms.
- A video and audio track you can use: Own the material or obtain permission covering livestream use. Keep license records, and if a rights holder uses Content ID, ask them to allowlist your channel.
- A stable operating setup: Keep the PC powered, the video file accessible locally, and the internet connection available. Actual upload capacity, PC specifications and power resilience vary; no India-specific performance figure or bitrate can be assumed.
Set up YouTube Live and connect the Windows PC
- In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live, then create a stream or schedule it. Scheduling creates a watch page you can promote and lets viewers set reminders.
- Open the stream settings in Live Control Room and copy the YouTube server URL and stream key.
- In your encoder, open its YouTube or RTMP streaming settings. Paste the server URL and stream key into the corresponding fields. Treat the key like a password: anyone who has it may be able to send a feed to your stream. Do not share it publicly.
- Set the encoder to play your fireplace video with its intended audio, then start the encoder feed. Check the preview and stream status in Live Control Room before selecting the control to go live.
- Watch the stream from another device and verify the picture, sound and stream health. Test the whole chain before relying on it for an unattended broadcast.

Use YouTube’s current encoder-settings guidance to choose resolution, frame rate, bitrate and keyframe interval for your actual system and connection. The reviewed guidance does not establish one bitrate or PC specification for every Windows setup, or a special recommendation for India.
Keep the stream running continuously
A 24/7 stream is only as continuous as the PC, encoder, source file, power and connection. Keep the source video on a drive the encoder can access, prevent planned maintenance or Windows restarts from interrupting a broadcast where practical, and check YouTube Studio for stream-health and copyright notices. Decide in advance how you will restart the encoder and reconnect the feed after a crash, restart or internet outage. These are practical operating precautions, not a guarantee of uninterrupted service.
A UPS may help the PC and networking equipment ride through a brief power interruption, but it is optional, not a YouTube requirement. Choose capacity based on the actual equipment and required runtime; no specific UPS size or runtime is established here. Likewise, test your own upload connection rather than assuming a particular Indian ISP or power-outage profile.

Plan around YouTube’s archive and copyright rules
Do not assume a full-day replay will be saved
YouTube says, “All streams under 12 hours will be automatically archived.” That statement does not establish that one stream lasting 24 hours will be preserved as a complete replay. If an archive matters, check the current Live Control Room behavior and consider shorter broadcast segments or a separate recording workflow. See YouTube’s encoder guidance.
Clear all visual and audio elements
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. It may replace a stream with a placeholder, issue a warning, interrupt it or terminate it; an archived stream may also receive a Content ID claim after the broadcast. A license alone may not prevent a live interruption if the owner has not added your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Confirm livestream rights for both the fireplace footage and every sound, including music and ambient effects. YouTube describes the process in its live-streaming copyright guidance.

Keep monetization expectations realistic
YouTube Partner Program creators may monetize live streams, subject to eligibility and policy compliance. The channel monetization policy also applies to live content and considers repetitive or reused material, so a continuous fireplace loop is not guaranteed to qualify. A long broadcast does not by itself guarantee monetization approval, qualifying watch time or revenue. Review YouTube’s channel monetization policies.
Troubleshoot common interruptions
- You cannot start an encoder stream: Check channel verification and live-stream eligibility. If this is your first encoder stream, enabling the feature can take up to 24 hours.
- The stream does not connect: Recheck that the server URL and stream key were copied into the correct encoder fields. If you suspect the key was exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- The feed stops after a PC restart or outage: The local encoder has stopped or lost its connection. Restore power and internet access, reopen the encoder, confirm the source file is available, and restart the feed; check Live Control Room before treating the stream as live again.
- YouTube interrupts the broadcast or displays a copyright warning: Review the notice and the footage and audio in use. Confirm that your license covers live use and request a Content ID allowlist from the rights holder where applicable.
- The archive is incomplete or absent after a long broadcast: Automatic archiving is stated for streams under 12 hours, not for a full 24-hour stream. Do not rely on one day-long transmission as your only recording.
