To plan a series around Indian Standard Time (IST, UTC+05:30), schedule each stream in Live Control Room, check that the date and time shown in Studio match your intended IST time, then share each scheduled watch-page link with “IST / UTC+05:30” stated clearly.
Can you schedule a YouTube Live playlist as one event?
No playlist-wide live schedule is documented in YouTube’s official instructions. Schedule each livestream separately in Live Control Room. You can reuse settings from a previous stream, but that is not the same as scheduling a playlist or setting a recurring series. YouTube’s encoder scheduling instructions and live-stream settings guidance describe individual streams.
Before scheduling: check channel access and plan the cadence
- Confirm live-stream eligibility. YouTube says the channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. Streamers must be at least 16 years old. See YouTube’s live-streaming requirements.
- Choose a sustainable rhythm. Decide how often you can reliably produce or prepare streams, taking account of content volume and production effort. YouTube recommends a consistent, sustainable schedule and communicating it—and any changes—to viewers. Its live-stream schedule guidance advises balancing frequency and consistency with production cost and audience outcomes.
- Pick a viewer-friendly time. For an India-focused audience, state the time in IST. If you also expect viewers elsewhere, add their local equivalent only after checking the conversion for the specific date.
Schedule each livestream in YouTube Studio
- Open YouTube Studio and select Create > Go live.
- In Live Control Room, open Manage and choose Schedule stream. Create a new stream or reuse settings from a previous one.
- Set the planned date and time. First determine the intended moment in IST (UTC+05:30), then inspect the date and time displayed in Studio before saving. The official live-scheduling instructions reviewed here do not establish that the live scheduler offers an IST selector or explain its timezone behavior; do not assume it uses the timezone picker documented for scheduled video publishing.
- Save the event and open its scheduled watch page. Scheduling makes it possible to promote the stream in advance, and viewers may see it as upcoming and select Notify me. YouTube describes this in its encoder scheduling instructions.
- Repeat these steps for every stream in the series. Reusing settings can reduce setup work, but check the title, description, date, time, and other event details for each stream before publishing the schedule.
Share the schedule so viewers know when to arrive
Post the scheduled watch-page link for each event, with the date and time labeled explicitly—for example, “8:00 p.m. IST / UTC+05:30.” Avoid saying only “8 p.m.”: viewers outside India may interpret it in their own local timezone, and the Live Control Room guidance does not establish an IST selector. Check the event’s displayed time in Studio before announcing it; YouTube’s interface labels can change.
Connect an encoder, if your stream uses one
If you use an encoder, copy the stream URL and stream key from the event’s settings into the corresponding server and key fields in the encoder. Treat the stream key like a password: do not post or share it publicly. YouTube explains the connection process in its encoder setup guide and stream settings help.

Use Live Redirect for a handoff, not playlist scheduling
If you want viewers to move from one event to a Premiere or another livestream at the end, YouTube Live Redirect can provide that handoff. It does not schedule a playlist. YouTube says a channel sending a redirect needs more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes; redirecting viewers to another channel’s live stream also requires that channel’s permission. Check YouTube’s Live Redirect instructions for current details.
Do not confuse scheduled videos with scheduled livestreams
YouTube’s instructions for scheduled video publishing describe choosing a timezone. That workflow is distinct from scheduling a livestream in Live Control Room, and it does not establish that the live scheduler has the same timezone control. See YouTube’s scheduled video publishing instructions; for a live event, verify the displayed schedule in Studio before sharing it.
