Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Restream’s prerecorded playlist is a scheduled broadcast of uploaded video files—not a control for playing an ordinary YouTube playlist. To find why yours is not appearing on YouTube, check in order that your Restream plan includes playlist access, the playlist is scheduled with YouTube enabled, and the correct YouTube event is selected. If the event has auto-start disabled, you must also click Go Live on YouTube after Restream begins sending the stream.
1. Check that your Restream plan includes playlists
Restream’s Help Center says playlist access requires its Marathon or Media Upload & Stream add-on tiers. The playlist feature allows up to 24 hours of content and up to 40 videos, according to Restream’s guide dated July 25, 2026. If your playlist exceeds either limit, adjust it before troubleshooting the YouTube connection. See Restream’s playlist guide.
2. Confirm the playlist and schedule
In Restream, select Pre-recorded livestream, then Playlist. Confirm that the intended uploaded videos are present and in the order you expect, preview the playlist, and check that it is scheduled. Restream says you can add, remove, or rearrange files only before the playlist goes live, so verify the lineup before its start time.
Do not assume that selecting a regular YouTube playlist is enough: Restream’s feature broadcasts video files you select or upload in its own prerecorded-playlist workflow.

3. Make sure YouTube is enabled as a destination
When creating the prerecorded event, check that YouTube is toggled on among the destinations before creating or scheduling it. A playlist can be correctly assembled in Restream and still not reach YouTube if YouTube was not selected for that event. Restream’s prerecorded livestream instructions describe selecting destinations during event setup.
4. If you attached an existing YouTube event, verify the match
If the Restream event is meant to use a YouTube event that was already created, edit the YouTube channel settings for the scheduled Restream event and check the Event dropdown. Select the intended YouTube event; an incorrect or missing association can leave Restream sending to a different event than the one you are watching. Restream explains the event selection in its YouTube connection guide.

Check YouTube auto-start
For an existing YouTube event with auto-start disabled, Restream says you need to click Go Live on YouTube after the stream begins sending. Starting the playlist in Restream alone will not complete that manual step. This applies to the event setup described by Restream, not necessarily every YouTube broadcast configuration.
5. Check channel eligibility and reconnect if needed
Restream’s general YouTube startup troubleshooting recommends verifying that live streaming is enabled for the channel. If the channel connection may be stale, Restream suggests removing and re-adding the YouTube channel and resetting the stream key. Reconnect only after confirming you can access the channel and its event settings; then check the destination and event association again. See Restream’s YouTube startup troubleshooting.

Mobile-app-created events are a special case
Restream states that YouTube events created through YouTube’s mobile app are not supported for streaming through Restream: YouTube locks those events to mobile streaming. If that describes your event, create or select a supported event instead of repeatedly restarting the Restream playlist. This is Restream’s stated limitation for this event type.
6. Isolate whether the failure is specific to Restream
If the checks above do not resolve the problem, Restream recommends trying a direct YouTube stream. If that direct test also fails, the issue may be on the YouTube channel or event side, and Restream advises contacting YouTube. This is a general startup diagnostic, not proof that every prerecorded-playlist failure has the same cause.

What to check based on what you see
| Symptom | First check |
|---|---|
| The playlist option is unavailable | Confirm your Restream plan includes the Marathon or Media Upload & Stream add-on tier. |
| The event runs in Restream but does not appear on YouTube | Confirm YouTube is enabled for the scheduled event and, if using an existing event, that the correct one is selected. |
| YouTube shows a scheduled event but it has not gone live | Check whether auto-start is disabled; if so, click Go Live on YouTube after Restream begins sending. |
| The YouTube event was created in the mobile app | Restream says such events are locked to mobile streaming and are not supported through Restream. |
| A direct YouTube test also cannot start | Follow up with YouTube, as Restream recommends for a failure that persists outside its service. |
Or let it run in the cloud
