To run a playlist continuously, prepare the video order in that playback system, then connect it to the scheduled YouTube broadcast with the event’s stream key.
Understand the two schedules
A YouTube live stream involves two separate controls. The event schedule sets when the broadcast begins and its watch page, visibility, and promotion. The playback schedule determines which video plays, in what order, and when files switch or repeat. YouTube Studio creates the event; the encoder or hosted playback service sends the feed and manages the playlist. The official YouTube instructions do not describe a native Studio playlist control that automatically switches videos within one continuous broadcast. YouTube’s Live API guide distinguishes a broadcast—the watchable event—from a stream—the audio-video transmission sent to it.
Prepare the Hindi playlist and check rights
Arrange the files in the playback system
Choose the Hindi videos and set their order, repeat behavior, and any planned changes in the encoder or hosted service that will play them. The YouTube event details do not determine playlist order.
Clear the content before scheduling
Use videos you made or have permission to stream. YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches; a match can replace the stream with a placeholder, and a stream may be interrupted or terminated if the content remains. YouTube advises creators with licensed third-party content to ask the rights owner to add their channel to the Content ID allowlist. See YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance.

Copyright permission and monetization eligibility are separate. YouTube’s monetization policies apply to live streams and assess reused content independently of copyright, permission, or fair use. The policy names collections of songs from different artists as an example that may not be eligible. Permission to stream a playlist does not by itself guarantee monetization. Review YouTube’s channel monetization policies.
Schedule the broadcast in YouTube Studio
- Enable live streaming ahead of time. YouTube says first-time live-stream enablement may take up to 24 hours. Do not leave activation until the scheduled start.
- Open the scheduling controls. In YouTube Studio, select Create > Go Live, open Manage, then choose Schedule stream.
- Create the event. Start a new broadcast or reuse settings, then set the title, visibility, date, and other event details. Scheduling creates the event that viewers can find and enables promotion and reminders.
- Connect the playback system. In the encoder or hosted service, enter the YouTube Live server URL and the stream key for the scheduled event. Keep the key private: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to the broadcast.
- Check the feed at stream time. Start the encoder or hosted stream, confirm its preview reaches Live Control Room, and select Go live for the scheduled event, following YouTube’s documented workflow.
See YouTube’s encoder and scheduling instructions for the current Studio workflow and encoder setup.

Choose how to play and transmit the playlist
The right option depends on whether you want to operate a local machine or have a hosted service handle playback and transmission. A dedicated computer is optional; first assess whether an existing computer can run your chosen setup continuously.
| Option | What it does | Trade-offs to check |
|---|---|---|
| Local software encoder on an existing computer | Plays and sends the video feed through software configured with YouTube’s server URL and stream key. | The computer and connection must keep operating. Playlist automation depends on the encoder and playback setup you choose. |
| Dedicated streaming computer | Runs the local software setup on a machine assigned to continuous operation. | It adds hardware cost. Check whether your existing computer is adequate before buying another one. |
| Hosted continuous-stream service | Plays selected videos and sends the feed remotely. YouTube’s verified encoder list includes Gyre for 24/7 prerecorded-video streams. | Confirm current playlist controls, file handling, schedule limits, and pricing with the provider. OneStream’s help article says its 24/7 feature requires its Enterprise plan and has a maximum duration of 30 days; these are vendor-stated terms, not YouTube requirements. See OneStream’s 24/7 help article. |
| Standalone hardware encoder | Sends a video feed without relying on a general-purpose software setup. | Hardware capabilities and playlist scheduling vary. Verify that the particular device supports the playback schedule you need; a hardware encoder is not necessary for every creator. |
YouTube’s encoder page lists verified products and notes that listed products are not made by YouTube. Check the provider’s current details before choosing a service or device.

The monthly option is $9.99 per month. See StreamNeo, or start your free day.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Plan for stream duration and archiving
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its cited guidance does not promise one complete automatic archive for a longer continuous broadcast, so do not assume a multi-day stream will appear as one finished video. If you need a complete recording, plan your own recording and archive workflow rather than relying on a single long broadcast archive.

Troubleshoot common problems
- The event is not available to schedule: If this is your first live stream, enable live streaming in advance; YouTube says activation may take up to 24 hours.
- The scheduled event has no preview: Check that the encoder or hosted service is running and that it has the correct YouTube Live server URL and event stream key. Then verify that its feed appears in Live Control Room before selecting Go live.
- The broadcast starts but does not switch videos as expected: Check the playlist order and switching rules in the playback system. The Studio event schedule does not control which file plays next.
- The stream shows a placeholder or is interrupted: A third-party content match may be the cause. Check YouTube’s copyright guidance and, for licensed material, ask the rights owner about adding your channel to the Content ID allowlist.
- A long stream is missing a complete archive: YouTube’s automatic-archive statement covers streams under 12 hours; the cited guidance does not promise a single archive for longer broadcasts.
Useful checks before going live
- Confirm the playlist contains only content you own or are authorized to stream, and resolve any required Content ID allowlisting.
- Verify that event details are correct in Studio and playlist order is correct in the playback system.
- Confirm the stream key belongs to the scheduled event and is kept private.
- Start the feed early enough to confirm the preview in Live Control Room before starting the event.
- Decide how you will preserve the recording if the continuous stream will exceed 12 hours.
