The $29.99 figure was the US monthly price after an October 2025 increase. Ultimate still bundles day-one games, EA Play, Fortnite Crew, Ubisoft+ Classics, cloud gaming, online console multiplayer, and rewards—but future Call of Duty games are no longer planned to arrive at launch on Ultimate or PC Game Pass.
What is the current Xbox Game Pass Ultimate price?
Microsoft’s April 21, 2026 announcement set the US monthly price at $22.99, down from $29.99. The $29.99 amount was the US price following the October 2025 increase, as reported by Windows Central. Microsoft says prices vary by region, so check the price shown for your account and country on the Xbox Game Pass page before subscribing. The current page lists plan features, but its price display may not show the same amount in every region or account context.
In its April 2026 announcement, Xbox said: “Starting today, Game Pass Ultimate drops from $29.99 to $22.99 a month.” The same update changed the planned timing for future Call of Duty releases: new entries are not expected at launch on Ultimate or PC Game Pass, but during the following holiday season, about a year later. Existing Call of Duty games already in the catalog remain available, subject to normal catalog availability. Xbox Wire’s announcement gives the price and timing details.
What does Ultimate include?
Xbox’s US plan page lists 500+ games across console, PC, and other supported devices; new games on day one; EA Play; Fortnite Crew; Ubisoft+ Classics; 15 hours of cloud playtime per month; online console multiplayer; and 4x Rewards points. Those are plan-page benefits, not a promise that every game or benefit is available on every device or in every country. Game availability can change, and catalog titles can leave the service. Review the current plan details and terms for your region and platform.

- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Game library: Access to a broad rotating catalog. The listed 500+ figure is Xbox’s current plan-page count, not a guaranteed permanent number of titles.
- Day-one releases: A range of new games joins Ultimate at launch, but future Call of Duty games are an announced exception; Xbox expects them around the following holiday season instead.
- EA Play: Included as a membership benefit, with availability dependent on the platform and applicable terms.
- Fortnite Crew: Included in Ultimate, with monthly Crew benefits described below.
- Ubisoft+ Classics: Xbox describes the included catalog as 50+ games. This is not the full Ubisoft+ catalog.
- Cloud gaming: The US plan page lists 15 hours of cloud playtime per month. Supported games, devices, and access vary.
- Console multiplayer and rewards: Ultimate includes online console multiplayer and 4x Rewards points, according to the plan page.
What changed about day-one games and Call of Duty?
Ultimate continues to include day-one games, but “day one” is not universal across every release. In April 2026, Microsoft said future Call of Duty titles would no longer join Ultimate or PC Game Pass at launch. Its announced plan is to add them during the following holiday season, roughly a year after launch. This timing change does not remove existing Call of Duty titles from the catalog, though any individual catalog game can still leave under the usual availability terms. Xbox Wire sets out the exception.
The tiers also differ in their release timing. Ultimate includes day-one games; PC Game Pass also includes day-one titles but is limited to PC; Premium gets new Xbox-published titles within one year of launch; Essential does not include new releases on day one. The Call of Duty timing change applies to future titles on both Ultimate and PC Game Pass. For the current tier comparison, see Xbox’s plan page.

How Fortnite Crew and Ubisoft+ Classics affect the value
Fortnite Crew
Fortnite Crew became part of Ultimate on November 18, 2025. At the time, Xbox stated that Crew was valued at $11.99 per month. Its described benefits include a monthly Crew Pack, access to premium rewards across Fortnite passes, 1,000 V-Bucks per month, and Rocket Pass Premium in Rocket League. Xbox described Rocket Pass Premium as a bonus guaranteed only for the then-current edition, and said it may change or end. The $11.99 figure is Xbox’s stated monthly value, not automatic cash savings: it matters most if you would otherwise pay for Crew. See Xbox Wire’s Fortnite Crew announcement for the terms as introduced.
Ubisoft+ Classics
Ultimate includes Ubisoft+ Classics, which Xbox currently describes as a catalog of 50+ games. It is a selection of Classics titles, not the full Ubisoft+ subscription library. Catalog composition and plan availability can vary, so count only the games you actually want to play rather than treating the entire Ubisoft catalog as included. Xbox’s plan comparison lists the current benefit.

Is Ultimate worth $22.99 a month?
It depends on how much of the bundle you will use. The clearest case for Ultimate is a player who regularly uses multiple included features—such as console and PC access, cloud play, day-one releases, multiplayer, or the bundled third-party memberships. If you mainly play on PC, PC Game Pass may fit better; if you do not need day-one releases, a lower tier may be enough. Compare the benefits you personally use, not the advertised value of services you would not otherwise buy.
- Consider Ultimate if you play across supported platforms, use online console multiplayer, want day-one access for the included releases, or would independently subscribe to Fortnite Crew or use several Ubisoft+ Classics and EA Play titles.
- Compare PC Game Pass if you play only on PC and want its day-one access without needing Ultimate’s broader platform bundle. Future Call of Duty titles follow the same delayed timing on this tier.
- Consider Premium or Essential if waiting for new Xbox-published releases or skipping day-one access is acceptable. Premium adds those Xbox-published games within one year; Essential excludes day-one new releases.
- Check your usage against the 15-hour monthly cloud allowance and the games currently listed in the catalog. A large library has little value if you only play a small portion of it.
How to avoid an unwanted renewal
Recurring billing is on by default. If you do not want another charge, switch it off before the next renewal in your Microsoft account’s Services & subscriptions settings. Follow Microsoft’s current subscription cancellation guidance; exact labels or available account actions can vary by subscription and region.
