How to Stream a Pre-Recorded YouTube Live Playlist in a Specific Order

YouTube Live does not provide a documented native queue for multiple prerecorded videos. Use an encoder or cloud service with ordered playback, connect it to Live Control Room, and test the sequence before going live.

To stream several pre-recorded videos as one YouTube Live broadcast in a specific order, use an encoder or streaming service with an ordered playback queue. YouTube’s Live Control Room handles the event and receives the encoder’s output; YouTube’s cited instructions do not document a built-in feature for queuing multiple videos as a live playlist. Set the sequence in the playback tool, connect it to a YouTube Live event, rehearse, then start the encoder and—if the event is scheduled—click Go live after the preview appears.

What “YouTube Live playlist” means

A YouTube channel playlist groups ordinary uploaded videos for viewers to watch. It is not the same as a live broadcast that plays several recordings in sequence. For the latter, a playback encoder or service must load the files, play them in the order you specify, and send the resulting stream to a YouTube Live event. YouTube documents how an encoder connects to Live Control Room, but its cited help pages do not describe a native multi-video live queue. YouTube’s encoder instructions explain the connection workflow.

Choose a playback method that supports the sequence

Decide how the files will be played before creating the event. An encoder that can send a single video feed is not necessarily able to queue multiple recordings. Check that the chosen tool explicitly supports loading multiple local or hosted files, arranging them in a fixed order, and defining what happens between and after them.

  • Local software or hardware encoder: You control playback and the stream from your own equipment. The computer and playback setup must remain available for the broadcast, and you are responsible for operating and monitoring it.
  • Cloud playback service: A hosted service handles playback and sends the stream, which can suit scheduled or continuous broadcasts. Verify its queue controls, current availability, terms, and recovery behavior with the provider; being described as a prerecorded-streaming tool does not by itself confirm ordered playlist support.

YouTube’s encoder help page names Gyre as a cloud tool for 24/7 prerecorded YouTube streaming and describes AJA PlayToStream functionality for scheduling prerecorded media. Those mentions do not confirm the exact queue controls, current plan limits, or availability for every configuration. Check with the vendor before relying on either for a particular sequence. YouTube’s page listing prerecorded-media tools provides that context.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Prepare the files and queue

  1. Finalize the order. Write down the complete sequence, including any opening slate, intermission, or closing card. Set that exact order in the encoder or service, not in a regular YouTube channel playlist.
  2. Check every file. Confirm each recording is available to the playback tool and inspect its start, finish, picture, and audio. If the tool offers transitions, gaps, or a fallback for a failed file, choose and test the behavior you want.
  3. Decide what happens at the end. Set whether playback should stop, repeat the sequence, or move to another item if those controls are available. Do not assume a queue loops automatically.
  4. Check the stream format. Configure the encoder’s resolution, frame rate, bitrate, and keyframe interval for the intended feed. Use YouTube’s current encoder settings guidance rather than guessing, and test representative motion and audio.

Create and configure the YouTube Live event

  1. Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room. Create a stream or schedule one for the intended time. Add its title and event details.
  2. Choose the audience and privacy settings deliberately. YouTube stream privacy options include public, private, and unlisted; review the event controls in Manage live stream settings.
  3. In the event’s stream settings, copy the stream URL and stream key into the encoder’s YouTube or RTMP settings. Keep the key private: anyone who has it may be able to send a feed to the event.
  4. Use RTMPS when supported. YouTube documents RTMP/RTMPS encoder settings and recommends encrypted ingestion in its encoder settings guidance.

Before setting a public event, check that the channel is eligible to stream. YouTube says a channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. See Get started with live streaming for current eligibility details.

Rehearse the entire broadcast

Run a private or unlisted rehearsal using the same files, queue, encoder settings, and connection you intend to use. A successful connection alone does not prove that the items will play in the right sequence or that transitions and audio will behave as expected.

  • Start the encoder and inspect the incoming preview in Live Control Room. YouTube’s advice is: “Before clicking Start Streaming, check the preview in the Live Control Room.” Streaming tips
  • Confirm the first video, each changeover, and the final queue behavior. Check that viewers with the intended access can open the event.
  • Listen for missing, clipped, or unexpectedly quiet audio; watch for black gaps, frozen frames, or playback that skips an item.
  • Review stream health and monitor both audio and video during the test. YouTube recommends testing before the event and checking stream health. Choose live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions

Start, monitor, and end the live stream

  1. For a scheduled encoder stream, start the encoder at the planned time and wait for the preview to appear in Live Control Room.
  2. When the feed looks right, select Go live in Live Control Room. Starting the encoder sends the feed; it does not, by itself, replace the scheduled event’s Go live action.
  3. While the playlist runs, monitor stream health, picture, audio, and the sequence. If playback or the connection fails, use the encoder’s controls and the event’s stream-health information to diagnose the interruption.
  4. When the broadcast is finished, end it using YouTube’s live-stream controls and check the resulting recording in Studio.

YouTube’s encoder instructions say streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. If your planned event may exceed 12 hours, confirm the platform’s current archiving behavior rather than assuming the full broadcast will be saved. Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder

Common problems and fixes

  • The event is waiting, but no preview appears: Check that the encoder is running and that the stream URL and key match the intended event. Review the encoder’s connection status and Live Control Room stream health.
  • The preview appears, but the scheduled event is not live: Once the preview is ready, select Go live in Live Control Room.
  • Videos play in the wrong order: Correct the sequence in the encoder or service’s playback queue. A YouTube channel playlist does not set the order of files being sent through an encoder.
  • A transition produces silence, a black gap, or a pause: Check the playback tool’s transition and gap settings, then rehearse the changeover. The exact controls vary by tool.
  • A file is skipped or fails to play: Check that the file is available and readable by the playback tool, then verify its queue entry and failure behavior. Test the full sequence again.
  • Viewers cannot access the stream: Confirm the event’s privacy setting and test access using the intended viewer account or link. Check the channel’s streaming eligibility if the event cannot be started.
  • The stream looks or sounds unstable: Check the encoder’s output settings, connection, and YouTube stream-health messages; retest with representative motion and audio before restarting the event.

Or let it run in the cloud

StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud service for keeping a channel live from uploaded videos. Upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It loops uploaded video from the cloud, so no computer, OBS, or home connection has to stay on. The playlist order and playback behavior should still be checked in a rehearsal.

Copyright and channel-policy checks

Before streaming, make sure you have the rights needed to broadcast every recording, including its music, footage, and other included material. A live broadcast of prerecorded content is still subject to YouTube’s policies and rights enforcement. Also consider whether the channel’s overall content meets YouTube’s monetization policies; permission to use material and eligibility for monetization are separate questions. Review current requirements in YouTube Studio and the relevant YouTube policy pages before scheduling.
