Eligible creators can add a YouTube Giving fundraiser to a scheduled livestream in YouTube Studio. First check two separate things: whether the channel has access to YouTube Giving and whether the intended nonprofit is eligible. If both checks pass, create the fundraiser, attach the scheduled stream, and publish it; viewers can donate from the watch page or, when live chat is enabled, in chat.
Check whether your channel can use YouTube Giving
YouTube’s current eligibility guidance lists four channel requirements: the channel must be in an available location, have at least 10,000 subscribers, be a YouTube Partner Program member, and not be designated as made for kids. YouTube notes that some channels outside these criteria may still see fundraising access. Check your own account at YouTube Studio > Earn > Giving, and confirm the current location list in the YouTube Giving FAQs before planning around access; do not assume eligibility for a country omitted from the list.
Channel access and nonprofit eligibility are different checks. A channel may be able to create fundraisers even when the charity it wants to support is not available.
Confirm the nonprofit is eligible
YouTube Giving fundraisers support eligible US-registered 501(c)(3) public charities. The nonprofit must be requested by a creator, opted in to online fundraising through GuideStar, and compliant with YouTube monetization policies. Google’s nonprofit guidance also specifies Google for Nonprofits membership. Private foundations are not currently supported. See YouTube’s fundraiser requirements and the Google for Nonprofits setup guidance.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
If the charity does not appear, check its legal or DBA name and whether it meets those requirements. YouTube says some requests to add an eligible nonprofit can take up to five business days. That is separate from activation of the YouTube Nonprofit Program, for which YouTube says review can take 2–14 business days; neither period is a guaranteed payout timeline.
Create and attach the fundraiser
- Open YouTube Studio. Go to Earn > Giving > Get started > Create a fundraiser. You can also start from Live Control Room under Advanced Settings.
- Select or request the nonprofit. Confirm the organization is the intended recipient before moving on.
- Enter the fundraiser details. Add a title and description. Set a goal and duration if useful; these are optional.
- Attach the scheduled livestream. Select the stream associated with the fundraising event.
- Publish the fundraiser. The Donate button appears after the fundraiser’s start date, not simply because the fundraiser has been created.
- Check the viewer experience. Enable live chat if you want viewers to donate there, and verify the fundraiser is attached to the correct scheduled stream.

What viewers see and how donations work
Viewers can donate from the stream’s watch page or in live chat. The live chat Donate button requires chat to be enabled; mobile viewers need to use portrait orientation to see chat. YouTube says the viewer chooses an amount and payment method, and can choose whether their username appears publicly in chat. If they do not, the donation amount appears as “Anonymous.” A receipt is emailed after processing. YouTube says creators and nonprofits do not see the donor’s personal information. Donations are non-refundable. See Donate to a nonprofit with YouTube Giving.
Live Chat Donations replaced Super Chat for Good. YouTube’s FAQ says Super Chat and Super Stickers are unavailable on streams using Live Chat Donations, and members-only live chat cannot be used with the donate button. Plan the stream’s chat settings around the fundraising format rather than assuming every chat feature can run alongside donations.

Monitor donations during and after the stream
During the event, a producer can monitor donations in chat and in Live Control Room’s Viewer Activity Widget. Afterward, go to YouTube Studio > Earn > Giving for basic fundraiser totals and details. YouTube documents this as the place to check fundraiser analytics; see its YouTube Giving FAQs.
Understand how the money reaches the nonprofit
YouTube says it pays transaction fees, so 100% of donations go to the eligible nonprofit. Google partners with Network for Good to collect and distribute donations at Google’s request, and the nonprofit must opt in to receive funds. The cited official guidance does not establish a specific disbursement date, so do not promise donors or the charity a particular payout schedule. Tax treatment can depend on the donor’s circumstances and jurisdiction; direct donors to their receipt and appropriate tax guidance rather than making a blanket tax-deductibility claim.

If YouTube Giving is unavailable
Google for Nonprofits identifies external fundraising sites such as GoFundMe or JustGiving as options for links in video end screens when an organization cannot use YouTube Giving. That guidance describes end-screen links; it does not establish a direct donation integration for livestreams. Before choosing an external provider, verify its current link rules, fees, terms, and donation-processing and receipt arrangements. See Google’s guidance on reaching and engaging supporters on YouTube.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is eligible to fundraise for YouTube Giving?
YouTube lists channels in an available location with at least 10,000 subscribers, YouTube Partner Program membership, and no made-for-kids designation. Some channels outside those criteria may still see access, so check Studio’s Earn > Giving area and YouTube’s current eligibility FAQ.
Which countries/regions can set up a YouTube Giving fundraiser?
Availability depends on YouTube’s current location list, which can change. Check the YouTube Giving FAQs and your channel’s Studio account; do not infer availability for a country that is not listed.
What if I don’t see the donate button after I created a fundraiser?
The button appears after the fundraiser’s start date. Check that the correct scheduled livestream is attached; for donations in live chat, make sure chat is enabled. A made-for-kids designation can also suppress the donation button.
What nonprofits are eligible to be fundraised for with YouTube Giving?
The recipient must meet YouTube’s requirements for an eligible US-registered 501(c)(3) public charity, including GuideStar online fundraising opt-in, compliance with YouTube monetization policies, and Google for Nonprofits participation. Private foundations are not currently supported.
Where can I find analytics about my fundraiser?
Check YouTube Studio > Earn > Giving for basic totals and fundraiser details. During the stream, the Live Control Room Viewer Activity Widget can help monitor donations.
