You can use Streamlabs Desktop’s built-in source, the Streamlabs OBS plugin, or a provider widget URL in an OBS Browser Source. The right route depends on the software you use and whether the list should appear in one scene or several.
What an Event List widget does
An Event List displays recent stream activity in your layout—for example, follows, tips, subscriptions, and other interactions. It is different from an Alert Box: alerts show individual event notifications, while an Event List presents a list of recent events. Streamlabs says its Event List supports more than 30 interaction types and names Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, Kick, and Streamlabs events; check your account and chosen platform for the event types actually available to you. Choose a setup route
| Route | Use it when | What you add |
|---|---|---|
| Streamlabs Desktop | You use Streamlabs Desktop. | An Event List source from the source picker; no widget URL is needed for this route. |
| Streamlabs plugin in OBS | You use OBS Studio and have the Streamlabs plugin. | The Event List widget from the plugin’s Widgets panel. Add it separately to each scene where it should appear. |
| Browser Source | You use OBS without the plugin or another application that supports browser sources. | The Event List widget URL from Streamlabs settings, pasted into a Browser Source. |
OBS’s Browser Source method does not require a plugin: the provider’s URL supplies the third-party overlay content. Streamlabs setup instructions · OBS Project guidance
Configure the Event List in Streamlabs
- Open Event List settings. In Streamlabs, open the Event List widget’s settings. Connect or select the streaming account and platform you want the widget to represent.
- Choose which events to show. Use the platform and event controls to select the activity relevant to your stream. Availability depends on the connected platform and account.
- Set the list’s content and behavior. Adjust event minimums and the maximum number of items, plus any flip or history options you want. These controls determine which events appear and how the list behaves.
- Style it for your layout. Choose a style or theme color, font, text color, font size, animation, animation speed, and fade time. Streamlabs says setting fade time to zero keeps the list visible.
- Copy the widget URL if you will use a Browser Source. Keep it available for the source setup in the next section. If you use a direct Streamlabs Desktop source or the OBS plugin, follow that route instead.
Streamlabs lists these controls in its Event List setup guide.

Add the widget to your streaming software
Streamlabs Desktop
- Open the scene where you want the list.
- Add a new source and choose Event List.
- Position and size it in the preview, then check that the events and styling match your settings.
OBS Studio with the Streamlabs plugin
- Select the scene where you want the list.
- Open the Streamlabs plugin’s Widgets panel and add Event List.
- Repeat for every scene where the list should be visible; adding it to one scene does not automatically add it to the others.
OBS Studio or another app using a Browser Source
- In the scene, add a Browser Source.
- Paste the Event List widget URL from Streamlabs settings.
- Set the source width and height to fit your canvas and layout. OBS guidance recommends choosing suitable dimensions, but there is no universal pixel size for every layout.
- Position the source and check it in the scene preview.
For OBS’s general third-party overlay workflow, see the OBS Project Stream Layout Tutorial.
Preview and check the result
- Confirm the Event List is in the intended scene and enabled.
- Check that the text is readable against the game or background and that the widget does not cover gameplay or other essential content.
- Verify that the selected platform and event types match the account activity you expect to display.
- If the list should remain visible, confirm its fade time is set to zero.
Placement and readability depend on your canvas and scene, so judge them in the preview rather than relying on a universal size or position.

Troubleshoot a missing or incorrect event list
| What you see | What to check |
|---|---|
| The widget is missing from the scene. | Confirm the source was added to the scene you are previewing and is visible or enabled. With the plugin route, add it to each scene where you want it. |
| The Browser Source is blank or shows the wrong content. | Check that you copied the Event List URL from the correct provider settings and pasted it into the Browser Source. |
| The list is clipped or too small. | Adjust the Browser Source width and height to fit the canvas, then resize or reposition it in the layout. |
| Expected events do not appear. | Check the connected platform, selected event types, and any event minimums or history settings in Streamlabs. Confirm the desired event is supported for the selected account. |
| The list fades away. | Review the fade-time setting; Streamlabs says zero keeps the list visible. |
Or let it run in the cloud
An Event List widget is an overlay for a live production; it does not itself keep a YouTube stream running. If your goal is to keep uploaded videos looping on a YouTube channel when your computer is off, StreamNeo runs that stream from the cloud: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; uploads stream as made up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly: $9.99 per month. Start your free StreamNeo day.
