You need an eligible Zoom account and host, and forwarding does not support every destination.
Before you start: check Zoom eligibility
Zoom’s custom livestreaming for meetings requires a Pro, Business, Education, or Enterprise account, a licensed Zoom Workplace Meetings host, and custom live streaming enabled by an account administrator. You also need the Zoom desktop app for Windows or macOS at the current minimum version. Zoom changes its version requirements, so check its custom live streaming support page rather than relying on version numbers in older tutorials.
- If the custom streaming option is missing, ask the account administrator whether it is enabled and confirm that the meeting host has the required license.
- For higher video quality, enable HD Video where it is available in the Zoom account settings.
- Zoom requires a public livestream URL. Do not use a private or inaccessible URL as the custom streaming destination.
Get Stream Forwarding details from Talk Studio
Sign in to your Streamlabs Talk Studio account and open its Stream Forwarding page. Copy the current RTMPS URL, stream key, and live-streaming page URL shown for your account. These credentials are account-specific: do not copy a URL or key from an example or share your stream key publicly.
Streamlabs’ Zoom-specific guide describes this as sending a Zoom meeting to destinations already connected to Talk Studio. Its interface and account menus can change, so use the current values displayed in your account rather than relying on an old screenshot.

Configure Zoom and Talk Studio
- Enable custom streaming in Zoom. In the Zoom web portal, open the meeting’s settings and enable “Custom Live Streaming Service.” An administrator may need to turn on the account-level setting first.
- Enter the Talk Studio values in Zoom. In the meeting’s live-streaming configuration, enter the RTMPS URL as the streaming URL, the Talk Studio stream key as the key, and the live-streaming page URL where Zoom requests the destination page. Use the values currently shown in your Talk Studio account.
- Choose the receiving destinations in Talk Studio. On the Stream Forwarding page, select the linked destination or destinations that should receive the Zoom broadcast, then save your selection before starting the stream.
Streamlabs says Stream Forwarding does not support LinkedIn or Twitter. Check the destination options currently available in your account before planning the broadcast; support can differ between forwarding and other Talk Studio workflows.
Start and stop the Zoom livestream
- Start the meeting in the Zoom desktop app as its host.
- Open the meeting controls and choose the custom livestream option. Depending on the current Zoom interface, it may appear under More or another livestream control.
- Allow Zoom to prepare the connection, then check Zoom’s host controls for the live status. If the destination does not receive the broadcast, stop and verify the URL, key, and Talk Studio destination selection before trying again.
- When the meeting is over, stop the custom livestream from Zoom’s meeting controls.
Zoom’s control labels can change. The important sequence is to start the meeting as host, start its custom livestream, confirm the live state, and stop the stream from Zoom when finished.

Check your upload connection
Streamlabs recommends a stable connection, preferably Ethernet. Its Getting Started guide, last updated October 1, 2025, gives the following upload guidance. These are Streamlabs recommendations, not a guarantee of stream quality:

For a steadier connection, use Ethernet if practical and avoid saturating the same connection with large uploads or downloads during the meeting.

Troubleshoot common problems
The custom livestream option is missing in Zoom
Confirm that custom live streaming is enabled in the Zoom account settings and that the meeting host has the required license. If you cannot change the setting, ask the account administrator. Also check that you are using the Zoom desktop app on Windows or macOS.
Zoom does not connect to Talk Studio
Reopen Stream Forwarding in Talk Studio and compare the current RTMPS URL and stream key with the values entered in Zoom. Correct any missing characters or spaces, save the Zoom settings, and confirm that the selected Talk Studio destinations are saved. Zoom also requires the streaming URL to be public.

The stream starts, but a destination does not receive it
Check that the destination is linked to Talk Studio and selected on its Stream Forwarding page. LinkedIn and Twitter are not supported by Stream Forwarding according to Streamlabs; use a supported destination listed in your account instead.
The video is unstable or the connection drops
Compare your available upload speed with Streamlabs’ guidance above, switch to Ethernet if possible, and reduce competing network traffic. Meeting video quality can also be affected by the connection and settings of participants, not just the host’s outgoing stream.
