Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesTo download a live stream from your own channel, it first needs to be saved as an archive. In YouTube Studio, open Content, find the stream in the Live content area, open its video menu, and select Download. If the stream is missing, check whether YouTube archived it; a downloader cannot retrieve an archive that was never created.
Download an archived livestream in YouTube Studio
- Sign in to the Google account that owns or manages the YouTube channel.
- Open YouTube Studio and select Content.
- Find the ended stream in the Live content area or archive listing.
- Open the video’s menu and choose Download.
YouTube’s documented download workflow is for videos uploaded to your own channel. Its Help page says the download is an MP4 in 720p or 360p, depending on the video’s size; it does not promise a choice of resolution. Interface labels can change, but YouTube’s documented path is Studio, Content, video menu, Download. YouTube’s download guidance
Where is my YouTube live stream archive?
YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived. A stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all, so there may be no video in Studio to download. The archive guidance does not guarantee that every stream under 12 hours will appear: if yours is missing, check the Live content area and allow for processing, but do not assume a third-party downloader can recover an archive YouTube did not save. YouTube’s archive guidance
For future broadcasts, YouTube recommends recording a local archive as a backup. Save it to a drive with enough available space for the recording; YouTube does not specify a required drive type, speed, or capacity.

- Up to 3-meter drop protection and IP65 water and dust resistance mean this tough drive can take a beating(3) (Previously rated for 2-meter drop protection and IP55 rating. Now qualified for the higher, stated specs.)
- Use the handy carabiner loop to secure it to your belt loop or backpack for extra peace of mind.
- Help keep private content private with the included password protection featuring 256‐bit AES hardware encryption.(3)
- Easily manage files and automatically free up space with the SanDisk Memory Zone app.(5). Non-Operating Temperature -20°C to 85°C
Download all your channel’s uploaded videos
If you need a channel-wide copy rather than one stream, YouTube identifies Google Takeout as the option for downloading all videos you uploaded. Follow the Takeout workflow while signed in to the account associated with the channel. This covers uploaded videos, including streams that have been archived as videos; it cannot create a missing archive.
Why can’t I download my YouTube stream?
- The stream is not in Studio: it may not have been archived. YouTube says a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured.
- Download is unavailable: YouTube lists a removed video, a copyright or Community Guidelines strike, use of a pre-approved audio track, or reaching five downloads for that individual video in 24 hours among the possible restrictions. Check the video’s status and YouTube’s current Help guidance before trying again.
- You are signed into the wrong account: confirm that the Google account owns or manages the channel containing the archive.
- You want an original-quality file: Studio’s documented MP4 options are 720p or 360p, depending on video size. Do not assume the download will match the stream’s original resolution.
YouTube Help does not state a publication date for these download limits and conditions; consult its current download page if the menu or eligibility differs on your account.

Can I download another creator’s livestream?
YouTube’s creator download feature does not let you download another user’s video. YouTube Premium’s offline viewing is different: it is for watching in the YouTube app, not exporting a video file. Ask the creator for a permitted copy if you need one, and respect their rights and the platform’s rules. YouTube’s download guidance
Check rights before sharing a downloaded stream
Having a video file does not grant permission to publish or reuse its contents. YouTube says live streams are scanned for third-party material, and an archived stream may receive a Content ID claim after the broadcast ends. Its livestream terms say content providers must have the necessary rights for use of their live content on Google services. If you plan to repost a stream, check permissions for music, footage, and other material, as well as any applicable rules. YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance · YouTube’s livestream terms

Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep a YouTube channel live with uploaded videos, rather than download an ended stream, StreamNeo runs the loop from the cloud: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Your computer and home connection do not need to stay on. It streams uploaded videos to YouTube, not a live camera feed.
