Access is conditional, and YouTube Giving fundraisers currently support eligible U.S. public charities. If you do not have the Giving tab, you can instead link to an external fundraiser from an end screen.
Check whether your channel can use YouTube Giving
In YouTube Studio, open Earn > Giving. YouTube’s help documentation lists these requirements: your channel must be based in a supported location, have at least 10,000 subscribers, belong to the YouTube Partner Program, and not be designated Made for Kids. YouTube notes that some channels may see fundraising access outside these stated criteria.
Supported locations and eligibility rules can change. Check YouTube’s YouTube Giving FAQ and fundraiser setup instructions for the current list and rules for your channel.
Create and publish the fundraiser
- Open Giving: In YouTube Studio, go to Earn > Giving, then select Get started > Create a fundraiser.
- Choose the recipient: Select an available eligible nonprofit. YouTube Giving recipients must be U.S.-registered 501(c)(3) public charities that meet YouTube’s requirements, including participation in Google for Nonprofits, opting into online fundraising through GuideStar, and compliance with YouTube monetization policies and Community Guidelines. If the organization does not appear, choose Request a nonprofit. YouTube says a request for an eligible charity can take up to five business days to process.
- Set the campaign details: Enter a title and description. You can also add collaborators and set a fundraising goal and duration. YouTube says these details can be changed later.
- Attach content: Add videos or scheduled livestreams that should display the fundraiser.
- Publish: Review the campaign and publish it. The Donate button appears after the fundraiser’s start date; it will not appear on content designated Made for Kids.
Run a fundraiser during a livestream
Attach a scheduled livestream to the fundraiser before it begins. If live chat is enabled, viewers can use Live Chat Donations. YouTube turns off Super Chat and Super Stickers on these streams to avoid confusion. Adding a fundraiser does not affect ads, but Super Thanks is unavailable on videos with Donations.

For a gaming stream, explain the beneficiary, the fundraiser’s purpose, and how viewers can donate before or during the stream. Keep the explanation clear and avoid implying that watching or clicking ads increases the donation.
Know how donations and payouts work
YouTube says 100% of donations go to the nonprofit and that it covers transaction fees. Google uses Network for Good to collect and distribute the funds. YouTube’s FAQ says distributions are typically monthly, while totals under $10 are disbursed annually; its nonprofit help page says a transfer may take up to two months.

Network for Good has exclusive legal control over donations it receives, as required by U.S. IRS rules. If it cannot distribute the funds to the selected recipient, it may direct them to another qualified U.S. nonprofit. For details, see YouTube’s Giving FAQ and nonprofit fundraising information.
Manage or remove the campaign
Return to the Giving tab in YouTube Studio to monitor the campaign or edit its details and goal. You can also delete the fundraiser, which removes its Donate button from the associated content. If a change is important to viewers, explain it in the video or stream description so they know which campaign is active.

If YouTube Giving is not available
YouTube says creators can link to an external fundraising page from an end screen, and gives GoFundMe and JustGiving as examples of approved third-party fundraising sites. Check the chosen platform’s current terms, fees, recipient availability, and tax information directly; those details depend on the platform and are not established by YouTube’s Giving rules.
You can also make original content and pledge revenue from specific videos to a nonprofit. Be precise about what you intend to donate and keep records. YouTube warns that it does not verify whether a creator’s pledged funds reach a nonprofit. Its guidance states: “Don’t make false claims about donating to the organization or nonprofit.” Do not ask viewers to click ads or repeatedly watch them to increase a donation; that can violate YouTube’s Fake Engagement policy. Using other people’s work can also lead to copyright claims. Read YouTube’s fundraising guidance before making a pledge.
