Start by choosing where your points live: Twitch Channel Points are Twitch’s built-in, channel-specific rewards for eligible monetized streamers; chatbot loyalty points are a separate currency that can power games and giveaways. Then enable only the interactions you plan to moderate and fulfill. Polls need their own setup: a points contest is not the same as an ordinary vote.
Choose a points system that fits your stream

For a Twitch-only setup, begin with Channel Points if native rewards are enough. Choose a separate loyalty system if you specifically need chatbot games, point spending, or a store. You can run different systems, but explain which balance a command or reward uses so viewers do not mistake one for the other.
Set up Twitch Channel Points
- Confirm eligibility. Twitch’s guide describes Channel Points as available to monetized streamers. If the feature is not available to your account, you cannot configure it as a native Twitch reward.
- Open the Creator Dashboard. Use the Channel Points controls in your Twitch Creator Dashboard to review built-in rewards and configure custom rewards. Twitch can change dashboard labels, so follow the current Channel Points guide if the interface differs.
- Choose rewards you can reliably deliver. Give each reward a clear name and state what it provides. Set a cost that makes sense for how often viewers can earn points and for the time or effort required to fulfill it.
- Set expectations in chat rules or a panel. Explain any limits, fulfillment timing, and what happens if a reward cannot be completed during a stream.
Twitch describes Channel Points as a customizable points program that lets streamers reward community members with perks, including benefits typically reserved for subscribers. Viewers accrue points automatically while logged in and watching, and the balance belongs to the channel rather than being a transferable general-purpose currency. Read Twitch’s Channel Points guide.
Enable chatbot loyalty points and games
Turn on StreamElements Loyalty
- Log in to StreamElements and open Loyalty settings.
- Enable the Loyalty system.
- Configure the earning rates and rewards to suit your community. StreamElements’ guide identifies watching, subscribing, and tipping as possible earning activities; exact controls and availability should be checked in the current dashboard.
- Tell viewers how to check their balance and which commands or rewards spend these points.
StreamElements loyalty is separate from Twitch Channel Points. Make that distinction visible in your rules or bot commands, particularly if both systems are active.

Enable only the modules you intend to use
StreamElements provides optional modules such as emote bingo, duels, 8ball, emote combos, roulette, slot machine, viewer queues, and vote kick. Its documentation also lists giveaways and contests. Some games use the chatbot’s loyalty points as stakes. The cited module description characterizes these as points rather than real-money wagers, but you should still explain the rules and keep games within your channel’s standards. A sensible first configuration is a clear earning pace, a balance-check method, affordable reward costs, and moderators who know how to handle redemptions and disputes.

Consider Streamlabs Cloudbot for a multi-platform setup
Streamlabs’ Cloudbot guide covers linking Twitch, YouTube, or Kick and setting up loyalty or chat games. It is an option to investigate, not evidence that every game or loyalty feature is identical across all three platforms. - In the StreamElements dashboard, open Loyalty → Giveaways.
- Enter a title and description, choose the prize, and set the ticket price and any ticket limits.
- Start the giveaway. The bot announces it in chat.
- Let viewers enter with
!ticketor!enter, or allow entry through the public giveaway page. Viewers buy tickets with loyalty points; each ticket has an equal chance. - When entries close, stop ticket sales and draw one or more winners in the dashboard.
Before opening entries, state who is eligible, how many entries each viewer may buy, when entry closes, how winners are contacted, and how the prize will be delivered. Check the current platform rules and applicable local requirements for your promotion; the cited setup guide does not establish legal requirements or endorse a particular prize. Set up polls separately from points contests
An ordinary poll collects votes; a prediction-style contest asks viewers to stake points on possible outcomes. StreamElements documents contests with two or more options, points staked by viewers, and a streamer-selected winning outcome; losing stakes fund winners. That mechanic is not a non-wagering poll. For a regular poll, use the current poll feature offered by your streaming platform or a poll module explicitly supported by your chatbot. Verify its setup and platform availability in the relevant current documentation before giving viewers instructions. Do not assume a contest command or points system creates an ordinary vote.

- Name the currency. Say whether a reward uses Twitch Channel Points or chatbot loyalty points.
- Make costs attainable. Set earning and redemption expectations so viewers can understand how long a reward may take to earn.
- Write down the rules. Describe redemption limits, game rules, giveaway timing, and prize fulfillment in a channel panel or chat rules.
- Assign moderation responsibility. Decide who answers balance or entry questions, handles disputes, and fulfills rewards while you are live.
- Review platform-specific availability. Chatbot modules and their supported platforms can differ; verify each one rather than assuming a feature carries over between Twitch, YouTube, and Kick.
Troubleshoot common setup problems
Viewers cannot find or earn Twitch Channel Points
Check that the account meets Twitch’s monetization eligibility described in its guide and that Channel Points are enabled in the Creator Dashboard. Remind viewers that they need to be logged in and watching; points are tied to the channel.

A reward uses the wrong balance
Clarify whether it is a Twitch-native reward or a chatbot command. StreamElements loyalty points and Twitch Channel Points are separate systems, so a balance in one does not automatically pay for an item in the other.
A game or module is missing
Check that the module is enabled in the chatbot dashboard and that it is available for the platform connected to that bot. StreamElements lists platform-specific modules, and Streamlabs’ overview does not verify every feature on every linked platform.
Giveaway entries or drawing do not work as expected
Confirm the giveaway is started from Loyalty → Giveaways, that its ticket price and limits are set, and that entry instructions are visible. Close sales before drawing winners in the dashboard; distinguish the public giveaway page from chat entry commands.
A points contest is mistaken for a poll
Explain whether viewers are merely voting or staking loyalty points on an outcome. If you want an ordinary poll, use and verify a poll-specific feature rather than labeling a prediction contest a poll.
