Before you start
Collab Cam lets you add a remote guest or another camera to a Streamlabs Mobile live stream. Streamlabs says the mobile setup can be done with a smartphone, without a computer or pro camera. The guide does not state a minimum app or operating-system version, network-speed requirement, or account configuration, so check the current app and device requirements if you cannot find the controls described below.
Decide whether you need a remote guest for a conversation or a local camera for another angle. The official Android guide documents the phone’s front and back cameras as layer options; it does not establish a measured quality difference between them.
Add a guest on iPhone or iPad
- Open the main menu and tap Scenes, then Create New Scene.
- Name the scene and choose a premade or custom layout.
- Open Layers, tap the plus sign, and choose Add a Guest.
- Enter the guest’s name and save.
- Share the guest join link. Ask the guest to choose the preferences prompted on their device and tap Join.
- Arrange the guest video in the scene. Tap the gear icon on the guest layer to adjust guest audio or camera settings, copy the invite link, or generate a new link.
- Tap Preview to check the guest camera. When ready, return to the app home screen and tap Go Live. The guide also says you can add a guest after the stream is already live.
Add a guest or camera on Android
- Open the main menu and tap Scenes, then Create a New Scene. If Scenes is not shown, choose Go to Advanced Settings, tap Continue, and create a scene.
- Name the scene and choose a premade or custom layout.
- Open Layers and tap Add layer.
- Choose Add a Guest to invite someone remotely, or Add a Camera to add the phone’s front or back camera as another angle.
- For a guest, enter their name and tap Add. Adjust the camera layer’s size and placement in the scene.
- Select the guest camera layer and tap the gear icon to configure audio or camera settings. From there, copy the invite link or generate a new one.
Streamlabs’ guide documents these Android scene and layer controls but does not give the same explicit Preview and Go Live closing sequence as its iOS directions. Use the app’s available preview and streaming controls for your setup.

Share the invite link safely
The guest joins through a shareable link. Send it to the intended participant rather than posting it publicly. Streamlabs’ Desktop Collab Cam guide—not its mobile guide—advises sharing invite links only with trusted people and generating a new link if one may have leaked. The mobile guide also documents a control for copying or regenerating a link in the guest layer’s settings.
If a guest cannot join
Guest sees a blank screen in a PC browser
A Streamlabs support notice published August 19, 2026 reported that some guests joining through a PC browser link saw a blank screen after pressing Join. The notice said the issue was under investigation and that mobile joining worked in the meantime. That is a dated report, not confirmation of a current universal failure; check the support notice for its latest status. If the guest is affected, try joining from a mobile device while you verify whether the browser issue has been resolved.

Scene or layer controls are missing
On Android, the official guide says to use Go to Advanced Settings, then Continue, if Scenes is absent from the main menu. The source does not identify a minimum app version or device requirement, so it cannot establish whether a missing control is caused by an outdated app or unsupported device.
Guest audio or framing needs adjustment
Select the guest layer and use its gear icon for audio and camera settings. Resize and reposition the layer in the scene, then check the composition in preview where that control is available.
