To loop a Gujarati garba playlist in OBS, add your local video files as an OBS VLC Video source, then leave Loop Playlist enabled. VLC must be installed for that source to appear. This gives OBS a direct playlist-repeat control; embedding a YouTube playlist in a Browser Source is a different method, and the reviewed OBS and YouTube documentation does not confirm that YouTube’s loop control will work reliably inside that embedded page.
Choose the right OBS source
| Method | Where the videos come from | How repeat works | What you need to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| VLC Video | Local video files | OBS’s Loop Playlist repeats the playlist when it reaches the end. | VLC must be installed. OBS describes VLC Video as supporting playlists of media items. OBS Project: Media Sources |
| Media Source | One local video file | Enable Loop to repeat that file. | Use this for a single video, not a multi-file playlist. OBS lists common supported formats including MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, and WebM. OBS Project: Media Sources |
| Browser Source | A web page loaded from a URL | YouTube documents a playlist Loop control for ordinary YouTube playback. | OBS can load a URL as a browser page, but the reviewed documentation does not establish that YouTube’s playlist loop behavior carries over when the page is embedded in OBS. OBS Project: Browser Source · YouTube Help: Loop videos or playlists on YouTube |
Set up a local Gujarati garba playlist with VLC Video
- Install VLC. OBS requires VLC for the VLC Video source. Match the VLC architecture to OBS; OBS specifically notes that 64-bit OBS requires 64-bit VLC. OBS Project: Sources Guide
- Add the source in OBS. In the Sources dock, select the + button and choose VLC Video. If VLC Video is missing, check that VLC is installed and that its architecture matches OBS.
- Add and order your videos. Add the local garba video files to the source playlist and arrange them in the sequence you want viewers to hear and see them.
- Keep Loop Playlist enabled. OBS will restart the playlist after it runs out. Leave Shuffle Playlist disabled if the order matters; OBS documents shuffle as a separate setting that is off by default. OBS Project: Sources Guide
- Set visibility behavior deliberately. OBS lists VLC Video options to continue, pause, or stop playback when the source is not visible. The listed default is to stop when not visible and restart when visible. If the source can become hidden in your scene, choose the behavior that matches your intended playback. OBS Project: Sources Guide
- Check the scene before starting the YouTube stream. Make sure the VLC source is visible and the playlist is in the intended order. Confirm that the selected audio and video are the content you have permission to broadcast.
Repeat one garba video instead
For a single local recording, add an OBS Media Source and enable its Loop option. OBS documents Restart playback when source becomes active as enabled by default, so playback restarts when the source becomes active. Use VLC Video when you need multiple files to play as one repeating playlist; use Media Source when you need one file to repeat. OBS Project: Media Sources
What the YouTube Browser Source option does—and does not establish
OBS Browser Source loads a web page into a scene using a URL, with viewport width and height settings, and is documented for Windows, macOS, and Linux. YouTube’s help instructions describe looping a playlist during normal YouTube playback: open a video in the playlist, expand the playlist, then click Loop in the playlist box. Those instructions do not establish that the same control will remain available or work reliably when a YouTube page is embedded as an OBS Browser Source. For a predictable playlist setup, use local files with VLC Video instead. OBS Project: Browser Source · YouTube Help: Loop videos or playlists on YouTube
Check rights before broadcasting garba music or video
Being able to play or loop a recording in OBS does not establish that you may rebroadcast it on YouTube. The OBS and YouTube playback documentation cited here does not determine the rights status of any particular garba recording, video, or music. Confirm that you have permission for the specific content and intended public stream before going live; the rights for any particular selection are not established here.

Troubleshooting
- VLC Video is not in the source list: Install VLC, then confirm its architecture matches OBS. In particular, OBS documents that 64-bit OBS requires 64-bit VLC. OBS Project: Sources Guide
- The playlist stops after the last item: Open the VLC Video source settings and make sure Loop Playlist is enabled.
- The playlist plays in a different order: Check that Shuffle Playlist is disabled and rearrange the files in the intended order.
- Playback stops when you switch scenes or hide the source: Review the VLC Video visibility behavior. OBS lists continue, pause, and stop options; the listed default is to stop when hidden and restart when visible. OBS Project: Sources Guide
- A YouTube page does not loop inside Browser Source: YouTube’s documented Loop control is for normal playlist playback, and the reviewed documentation does not verify its behavior in an OBS-embedded page. Use a local VLC Video playlist if you need OBS’s documented playlist loop control.
