Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →If you can’t find a way to go live in the YouTube Studio app, first switch to the main YouTube app: YouTube’s documented mobile path is Create > Live. Then check that the channel meets mobile live-streaming requirements. A missing option does not, by itself, reveal the cause; it may be an app or account issue, or the channel may not yet be eligible.
Use the YouTube app, not Studio, to start a mobile stream
YouTube’s mobile instructions describe starting or scheduling a phone-based stream in the main YouTube app—not the YouTube Studio app. Open the YouTube app, sign in to the channel you want to use, and tap Create > Live. Studio is still useful for creator management and Live Control Room, but it is not the documented mobile broadcast path. See YouTube’s mobile live-streaming instructions.
Check mobile live-streaming eligibility
As stated on YouTube Help’s mobile instructions page, accessed October 3, 2026, mobile live streaming requires all of the following:
- At least 50 subscribers.
- A verified channel.
- No live-streaming restriction during the previous 90 days.
- Live streaming turned on for the channel.
- A phone or tablet running Android 8.0 or later, or iOS 8 or later.
These are requirements for the mobile feature, not an explanation of what happened on your particular device. YouTube’s general live-streaming guidance also lists channel verification and the restriction lookback; mobile, webcam, and encoder streams are separate methods, but changing methods does not remove a channel-wide restriction. See YouTube’s live-streaming overview.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Work through the checks in order
- Confirm the channel. In the YouTube app, check which channel is signed in. Eligibility applies to the channel you are trying to stream from, so an eligible channel on another account will not make this one eligible.
- Check the listed requirements. Confirm subscriber count, verification, restriction history, supported operating system, and that live streaming has been enabled.
- Allow for first-time activation. If you have just turned on live streaming for the first time, YouTube says you may need to wait up to 24 hours before starting the first stream. This is the documented activation window; an unsourced promise of a longer sync period is not a reliable fix.
- Try the documented route. In the main YouTube app, tap Create > Live. If you were trying from Studio, repeat the attempt there rather than treating the Studio interface as the mobile streaming entry point.
- Check access on a computer if needed. YouTube Studio on a computer and Live Control Room can help distinguish a channel-access problem from a mobile-interface problem. A webcam stream is another computer-based method, but it still requires channel live-streaming access; it does not bypass a channel restriction. YouTube’s webcam instructions also describe the computer route.
- Update the YouTube app if the interface seems stuck. TeamYouTube advised using the latest app in a September 2026 update about a separate Android issue editing scheduled mobile streams. That issue was marked fixed; it is not evidence that an outdated app caused a missing Go Live option in your case. See the TeamYouTube update.
- Escalate with useful details. If you meet the requirements and still cannot start, note the exact error or missing control, device and operating-system version, channel status, and when live streaming was enabled. Use YouTube’s available support or feedback route with those details.
How the available routes differ
| Route | Device and setup | Mobile-specific requirements | Does it avoid channel-level restrictions? |
|---|---|---|---|
| YouTube mobile app | Phone or tablet; YouTube app > Create > Live | At least 50 subscribers, verified channel, no restriction in the previous 90 days, live streaming enabled, Android 8.0+ or iOS 8+ | No |
| Webcam | Computer and webcam through YouTube’s web workflow | The mobile 50-subscriber requirement is specific to mobile; webcam still requires an enabled channel. YouTube’s webcam page also sets out an age rule. | No |
| Encoder | Computer or other encoder setup through Live Control Room | The mobile 50-subscriber requirement is specific to mobile; channel access and applicable restrictions still matter | No |
YouTube documents mobile, webcam, and encoder as distinct methods in its live-streaming overview. If an encoder itself fails to start, YouTube’s encoder troubleshooting guidance includes refreshing the stream key. That advice applies to encoder errors, not to a missing mobile Go Live feature.
What a missing Go Live option does—and does not—tell you
Without your device, operating system, channel status, restriction history, activation timing, and exact error, the cause cannot be determined. A missing option alone does not prove an app bug, a strike, an eligibility-sync delay, or a hardware fault. Start with the documented app path and eligibility checks, then use YouTube’s support or feedback route if they do not explain the problem.
