Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteTo put Hindi text on an OBS stream, add a Text source, enter the Hindi wording, choose an installed font that renders Devanagari, and position the source in the preview. For custom styling, use a Browser source instead. The overlay stays visible while that OBS scene is active, but running OBS continuously still depends on your computer, internet connection, setup, and YouTube account.
Before you start
- Make sure your YouTube channel is verified and has had no live-stream restrictions in the previous 90 days. YouTube’s eligibility rules can change; check the current YouTube live-streaming help.
- Have OBS open with the scene you intend to use for the broadcast.
- Choose the Hindi text and check it on the streaming computer. The font must be installed there and display Devanagari characters; the OBS documentation does not certify specific Hindi fonts or system configurations.
Add fixed Hindi text with an OBS Text source
- In OBS, select the scene for your broadcast. In the Sources dock, click + and add a Text source. OBS calls its built-in text sources customizable text renders.
- Type or paste your Hindi copy into the source’s Text field.
- Choose a font installed on the streaming computer that renders Devanagari. The defaults listed in OBS documentation—Arial, Helvetica, and Sans Serif, depending on platform—are not stated to be guaranteed Hindi fonts. Check the OBS preview for missing characters, awkward line breaks, and readability at the size viewers will see.
- Drag the text into position in the preview and resize it as needed. Keep it clear of important video content and other on-screen information.
- If the text is hidden behind another source, move the Text source higher in the Sources list. OBS source order determines what appears on top.
OBS offers Text (GDI+) on Windows and Text (Freetype 2) on macOS and Linux. The names and available options may vary by operating system and OBS version.
Choose the right overlay method
| Method | Best for | Editing and styling | What it depends on |
|---|---|---|---|
| Text source | Fixed wording such as a channel name or a short Hindi message | Enter the wording in OBS and choose an available font and source settings | The OBS scene and a font that renders the required characters |
| Text source with Read from file | Copy that you want to keep in a separate text file | Edit the file rather than the source’s text field; test how edits appear before relying on them during an unattended stream | The local file and its availability to OBS; OBS documentation does not specify universal encoding details or an update interval |
| Browser source | A designed layout built as a web page or with HTML/CSS | More flexible web-based layout and styling | The page or local file, plus the source’s configured width and height |
Use a text file or a custom Browser source
Keep the wording in a text file
Open the Text source properties and enable Read from file, then select the file containing your copy. Make a test edit and confirm OBS displays it as expected before relying on file updates during a long broadcast. The OBS guide does not specify a universal text encoding or refresh interval, so verify the behavior with your own file and setup.
Build a designed overlay in a Browser source
- Add a Browser source from the Sources dock.
- Set it to use the overlay’s web address or local file.
- Set the source width and height to match the intended overlay viewport, then position it in the scene preview.
- Check the page in the OBS preview, including the Hindi glyphs, text size, and placement.
A third-party overlay service is not required for either approach: OBS supports text directly and can display a local HTML page through a Browser source.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Test before starting the YouTube broadcast
- Inspect the OBS preview at the intended output size. Confirm every Hindi character renders, the line breaks are acceptable, and the overlay does not cover important content.
- Open YouTube Live Control Room and check its preview before starting the broadcast. YouTube recommends testing and checking the preview.
- Once live, monitor audio and video quality. The overlay appearing correctly in OBS does not by itself confirm the full YouTube stream is healthy.
For technical encoder settings, use YouTube’s current encoder guidance; the configuration figures in that guidance are not necessary just to add a Hindi text overlay.
Keep a 24/7 stream running: what this setup does and does not do
OBS can keep the overlay in a scene used by a long-running stream, but the text source does not make the broadcast itself uninterrupted. With a local OBS setup, continuous operation depends on the computer staying on, the connection and configuration, and YouTube account eligibility. The available YouTube and OBS guidance does not establish a universal maximum duration, uptime guarantee, or failover design for this workflow. Check current platform guidance rather than assuming a 24/7 stream is guaranteed.
