A mini PC is a sensible type of local encoder to shortlist for a simple pre-recorded music-and-visual loop, but the right choice depends on the video, encoding settings, sustained cooling, upload connection and recovery plan. No specific model, Indian price or 24/7 performance test is established here.
If you want the stream without leaving a computer running at home, StreamNeo is a cloud alternative for looping uploaded videos on YouTube. The guide below covers how to choose and operate a local setup before comparing that option.
What kind of PC should you shortlist?
Start with a mini PC if the stream is a straightforward loop of pre-recorded music and visuals. A spare laptop or used/refurbished desktop may also work; the form factor alone does not establish whether a machine can encode your particular video continuously. YouTube does not publish a mini-PC requirement or certify consumer PCs for uninterrupted operation.
“Budget” depends on your rupee ceiling and current local availability. No current Indian retailer prices or independently tested candidate models are established here, so a model ranking or rupee price would be guesswork.

Compare candidates on sustained use, not a CPU label
- Encoding workload: Check whether the system can sustain the codec, resolution, frame rate and scene complexity you actually intend to stream. A static image with audio and an animated or high-motion video are different workloads. Test with movement and audio similar to the planned broadcast; YouTube recommends testing the intended stream conditions.
- Cooling: Consider ventilation and the real ambient temperature at the installation point. A small system that overheats or throttles during a long run is a poor fit, regardless of its headline processor name.
- Network: Prefer stable wired Ethernet where practical, and measure upload performance at the PC’s intended location and time of use. Download speed does not tell you whether the upload can sustain a live broadcast.
- Recovery and monitoring: Check whether the machine can restart after power returns, whether you can access it remotely, and how you will notice if the encoder or YouTube stream stops.
- Ownership cost and support: Compare warranty, local service, replacement availability, and the cost of any required RAM, storage, adapters or accessories. If electricity cost matters, measure wall power during the actual workload; a power-supply rating or adapter label is not an average-consumption measurement.
No verified wattage, electricity tariff calculation or sustained-use result for a particular PC is established here. A UPS and Ethernet cable may be useful depending on your power and network setup, but their suitability depends on those conditions.
Set YouTube’s stream quality to match your connection
YouTube’s encoder guidance says to choose a quality your connection can reliably sustain, speed-test upload bitrate, run a preflight test and monitor stream health. Its recommended bitrate varies with codec, resolution and frame rate. The following H.264 values are YouTube’s recommendations, not a measurement of what your ISP or PC will deliver.

| H.264 output | YouTube recommended bitrate |
|---|---|
| 1080p at 30 fps | 5 Mbps (YouTube Help encoder guidance, accessed 2026) |
| 1080p at 60 fps | 14 Mbps (YouTube Help encoder guidance, accessed 2026) |
YouTube’s encoder guidance lists RTMP/RTMPS, H.264, H.265 or AV1 video, AAC or MP3 audio, and constant bitrate (CBR). It recommends a two-second keyframe interval, which should not exceed four seconds. Follow the current YouTube guidance for the codec and output you select; do not treat the example bitrates as a guarantee of stream quality or PC capability. YouTube’s encoder settings and bitrates.
YouTube’s network guidance recommends keeping the total stream bitrate below available upload bandwidth with headroom, recommending 20% headroom on that page. Test upload, not just download, and check stream health during a trial run. YouTube also recommends testing encoder failover and checking that a local archive is intact. Configure the PC and start a test broadcast
- Confirm channel eligibility. YouTube says the channel must be verified, must not have a live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days, and the creator must be at least 16. Check the channel’s current status before planning a broadcast. YouTube’s live-streaming help.
- Prepare the encoder. Install an encoder that supports the output settings you plan to use. YouTube identifies encoder streaming as an option when creators need overlays or external hardware; the exact menus vary by encoder.
- Copy the stream details from YouTube Studio. In the encoder workflow, copy the stream URL and stream key from YouTube Studio into the corresponding encoder fields. Treat the key like a password: do not publish or share it, and reset it if it is exposed.
- Set the output deliberately. Choose the intended resolution, frame rate, codec, CBR bitrate, audio format and keyframe interval. Make sure the total bitrate remains within the upload connection’s capacity with headroom.
- Run a representative test. Test with the actual music and a visual similar in motion to the final loop. Check YouTube’s stream health and watch for dropped frames, audio problems, overheating or encoder instability before relying on the setup.
- Plan how to detect and recover failures. Decide who or what will notice a stopped stream and how the encoder will be restarted. Test power-restoration behavior and any failover you intend to rely on; a PC setup is not an uninterrupted-service guarantee.
Plan for long sessions and archives
A continuous broadcast and a reliable recording archive are separate goals. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived; streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. It recommends keeping a local recording as a backup. If you need an archive, plan session endings and restarts or preserve a separate local recording rather than assuming a 24/7 broadcast will produce one. YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance.
Clear music rights before going live
Technical ability to loop a track does not establish permission to broadcast it. Secure the rights needed for the music and visuals in your stream before using them, and confirm the terms with the relevant rightsholders or qualified counsel. The available India-specific material does not establish the exact permissions required for a particular catalog, so this is not a substitute for legal advice. YouTube channel eligibility and platform enforcement are separate from hardware setup; a technical configuration cannot make an otherwise ineligible stream permissible.

Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is the #1 alternative here if you want a pre-recorded YouTube loop without keeping a PC at home: upload the video, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It runs the loop from the cloud, so your computer and home connection do not have to stay on. StreamNeo is for uploaded videos on YouTube, not camera-based live broadcasting.
- Nothing has to stay powered on at home for the stream to run.
- Each slot streams the uploaded file as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot rather than quality tiers.
- It automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream.
- The first day is free with no card; one free day is available per account.
Each slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB storage per slot pooled across active slots, 24/7 looping and playlists, and support from the StreamNeo team. Plans have the same product; the billing length changes. Short or long billing is available, with UPI and cards in India and card checkout worldwide. For five or more slots, contact support. A cloud service does not remove your responsibility to clear music rights or follow YouTube’s rules.
