If audio and video are out of sync on a Castr playlist stream, first check whether the uploaded file is already misaligned. Then compare Castr’s preview with a private or unlisted YouTube test. The right fix depends on where the mismatch first appears—and whether it stays constant or grows over time. OBS audio-offset settings apply only when OBS is actually sending the stream; they do not control Castr’s cloud playlist playback.
First identify which Castr workflow you are using
Castr’s pre-recorded feature plays uploaded video files from the cloud as either a scheduled premiere or a continuous loop, including to YouTube. OBS is not required for that workflow. If you uploaded files into a Castr playlist, OBS sync controls do not directly adjust its playout. If OBS is the source sending a live feed to Castr, OBS settings may be relevant. Castr’s pre-recorded streaming page describes the playlist workflow.
Keep two questions separate as you troubleshoot: where the mismatch first becomes audible or visible, and whether it is a fixed offset or increases as the program plays. A single symptom does not establish the cause.
Check the uploaded video file before changing stream settings
- Play the exact file you uploaded locally. Use a clear audiovisual cue—a clap, impact, or spoken word whose timing is easy to compare.
- Check the beginning and a later point. If the same gap is present throughout, that suggests a fixed offset in the file. If the gap grows, the timing problem is changing over time. These observations help locate the issue; they do not identify its technical cause by themselves.
- If local playback is already out of sync, repair and export the file before uploading it again. Recheck the exported version locally before replacing the playlist item.
Castr’s pre-recorded troubleshooting guidance recommends following its file recommendations before uploading and specifies AAC audio averaging 128 kbps. It also suggests HandBrake to lower bitrate when an uploaded file fails to reach destinations. Those are file-delivery and compatibility suggestions, not a demonstrated cure for an audio-sync error; changing bitrate alone should not be treated as a timing repair.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Compare Castr preview with a private YouTube test
- Test the source-to-Castr path. Castr’s test guide recommends turning off added platforms, starting the source, and confirming that it reaches the Castr preview.
- Test YouTube separately. Use a private or unlisted YouTube stream so you can inspect the destination without broadcasting the test publicly.
- Keep the test running long enough to check for drift. Compare the same clear cue near the beginning and later in the program.
- Check Castr Analytics/Input Health during the test. Note whether the problem appears in the preview, only at YouTube, or in both.
If the local file and Castr preview are aligned but the YouTube test is not, record the test time and stream details before contacting Castr support. The cited Castr materials do not specify a universal YouTube-side sync control for a cloud playlist. If the file is aligned but the Castr preview is not, preserve the same evidence and contact Castr support rather than assuming a particular cause.
Adjust audio sync only when OBS is in the source path
For an OBS-fed stream, Castr’s published wedding-streaming guidance says to open OBS’s Advanced Audio Properties, add a measured sync offset, and test during rehearsal. Castr gives 50–100 ms as an example to try; that is not a universal setting for every source and is not a fix documented for Castr cloud playlists. See Castr’s wedding-streaming guidance.

- Use a test stream and identify whether audio leads or trails the corresponding video cue.
- In OBS, open Advanced Audio Properties and adjust the relevant audio source’s sync offset in small increments, using the measured mismatch as a guide.
- Repeat the test and compare the same cue. Keep the change only if it improves alignment.
A fixed offset can address a consistent lead or lag; if the mismatch grows over time, one fixed adjustment may not solve the underlying issue. Castr’s cited material does not give a playlist-specific diagnosis or guaranteed procedure for progressive drift.
Investigate broader stream quality when other symptoms are present
If sync trouble comes with buffering, dropped frames, choppy playback, or disconnections, check the broader stream path as a separate investigation. Castr recommends reviewing source settings, connection stability, live health charts, and ingest location in its stream-quality guidance.

- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
- Review stream health: look at audio and video bitrate and frame rate in the health charts.
- Check general encoding compatibility: Castr’s OBS recommendations include H.264 video, AAC audio, CBR, a two-second keyframe interval, and 128 kbps audio. These are general compatibility settings, not a guaranteed sync correction.
- Consider resolution only when the stream is unstable: Castr suggests reverting to 720p if 1080p causes problems. This is a broader quality step, not evidence that resolution caused a stable audio offset.
- Check connection and ingest conditions: Castr advises using a stable upload connection and a nearby ingest server. These checks matter when there are signs of instability, but do not prove that a stable lead or lag comes from the network.
For a cloud playlist, do not apply OBS encoder settings as if OBS were part of the path. First establish whether the issue exists in the file, Castr preview, or YouTube output.
Record the result and decide what to do next
After each change, repeat the private or unlisted test and compare the same cue near the start and later in the program. Keep a short record of:

- whether local playback is aligned;
- whether Castr preview is aligned;
- whether the YouTube destination is aligned;
- whether the mismatch is constant or grows over time; and
- whether the workflow is a Castr cloud playlist or an OBS-fed source.
If the source file is clean but a cloud playlist remains out of sync through the preview and destination checks, send those observations and test details to Castr support. Castr’s cited public documentation does not establish a guaranteed automatic correction for playlist sync drift.
