Before you start: check channel eligibility and music rights
Confirm livestreaming is enabled
Your YouTube channel must be verified and have no livestreaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time livestream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before your planned launch. Check the channel’s livestream access in YouTube Studio; if access is unavailable, resolve that before building the broadcast around a scheduled start.
Clear the music and visuals for the uses you intend
You are responsible for having the rights needed to use every part of the stream, including the composition, recording, and any visuals or other material. A track being labeled “free,” or a license allowing some other use, does not automatically authorize a YouTube livestream or its archived replay. Check whether the license covers livestreaming, archiving, territories, monetization, and any required Content ID allowlisting.
YouTube recommends options including its Audio Library, original music, Creator Music for monetized videos in certain regions, and appropriately licensed third-party music. A Content ID match can still happen with licensed music. If you have permission to use third-party material, YouTube says to ask the rights owner to add your channel to their Content ID allowlist.

Choose how the stream will run
YouTube supports software encoders running on a computer and standalone hardware encoders. It also lists a cloud-based tool for continuously streaming prerecorded videos. YouTube’s verified encoder list is an example list, not an endorsement. Choose based on who will maintain the stream, how much control you need over the feed, and whether you can keep the required device, power, and internet connection available.

YouTube’s cited guidance does not establish comparative prices or uptime guarantees for these approaches. A mini PC or UPS can be considered for a locally run encoder, but YouTube does not specify minimum mini PC hardware or UPS sizing.

Set up the YouTube broadcast
- Prepare the loop. Assemble the Tamil meditation audio and accompanying visual loop. Keep records of the rights and license terms for all included material.
- Open YouTube Studio and create or configure the live stream. Follow the stream setup in the Live Control Room and select the intended visibility and schedule. Use an unlisted or otherwise controlled test before making the broadcast public.
- Connect the encoder. Copy the server URL and stream key provided by YouTube into the corresponding fields in your encoder. The stream key works like a password: keep it private and never show it in a public screen capture or documentation.
- Set the encoder’s feed. Configure the audio and visual source for the intended continuous broadcast, then check that the encoder is sending to YouTube. Use the settings supported by your selected encoder and the stream configuration shown in YouTube Studio.
- Budget upload bandwidth. YouTube recommends upload capacity with 20% headroom above the total stream bitrate. Account for other devices and activity sharing the connection; network disruptions can break the stream.
- Check the preview before going live. Inspect the Live Control Room preview, listen for clean and continuous audio, and verify the picture. Check the watch page on both desktop and mobile. If you use local recording, confirm it is working as intended.
- Start the broadcast and monitor it. Keep a person or alerting process responsible for checking stream health and copyright notices. YouTube’s official tips recommend continuously monitoring quality; no cited source guarantees an uninterrupted stream.
Watch for copyright interruptions
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content matches. A match may trigger a warning or replacement of the stream with a placeholder. If the material remains, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the stream; a copyright strike can also lead to termination. A successful test does not establish that all music is cleared, so monitor notices during the broadcast and be ready to remove or replace disputed material.
Troubleshoot common failures
- Livestreaming is not available: Check channel verification and whether the channel has had livestream restrictions in the previous 90 days. If this is the first activation, allow up to 24 hours for it to become available.
- YouTube receives no encoder feed: Confirm the server URL and stream key match the current stream in YouTube Studio. Check that the encoder is connected and that the key has not been exposed or replaced.
- The stream breaks or becomes unstable: Check available upload bandwidth against the total bitrate plus YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom. Look for other network use or connectivity disruption.
- The preview or watch page has no sound or picture: Check the encoder’s selected audio and visual sources, then inspect the Live Control Room preview and test the watch page on desktop and mobile before relying on the stream.
- A placeholder, warning, or interruption appears: Review the copyright notice and the rights for the matched material. If you have a license, ask the owner to allowlist your channel in Content ID; otherwise replace the material with audio you are cleared to use.
