If you only want yoga classes to repeat on your own screen, turn on Loop in the YouTube playlist controls. That repeats playback for you; it does not put your channel live. To broadcast prerecorded classes as a live event, create a YouTube Live stream, loop the videos in an encoder such as OBS, connect it with your YouTube stream key, and check the preview before starting.
Choose the right kind of “playlist loop”
| What you want | Use | What viewers see |
|---|---|---|
| Yoga classes repeat on a TV, phone, or computer for personal viewing | YouTube’s playlist Loop control | Ordinary playlist playback on that device, not a channel-originated live broadcast |
| Your channel broadcasts the classes as a live event | A YouTube Live stream connected to an encoder with a looping video source | A live watch page and a continuous feed for viewers, provided the encoder and source keep running |
The first option is simpler for overnight viewing at home. Choose the second only when the channel itself needs to appear live. YouTube’s playlist Loop control does not create a live event. YouTube Help: Loop videos or playlists on YouTube
Loop a YouTube playlist for personal overnight viewing
- Open one of the yoga videos that belongs to the playlist.
- On desktop: expand the playlist panel beside the video and click Loop.
- On mobile: play the playlist and tap the Loop control in the playlist controls.
- On a TV or game console: use the Repeat control in that device’s YouTube playback controls.
Control placement can differ by device and app version, so use the current playback controls. This setting repeats playback in that viewing session; it does not create a public live watch page or broadcast from your channel. YouTube Help
Broadcast a repeating playlist as YouTube Live with OBS
This method is for prerecorded classes on your channel’s live event. A computer must run OBS, the files must remain available to OBS, and the computer and internet connection must continue sending the feed. YouTube’s encoder guidance recommends testing and monitoring the stream; an overnight run is not guaranteed just because the source is set to loop.

1. Confirm livestream access
YouTube’s documented eligibility guidance says the channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. First-time live-stream enablement can take up to 24 hours, so check access before the night you intend to stream. YouTube live streaming tips
2. Create or schedule a stream
- In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live to open Live Control Room and create a stream.
- To announce it in advance, open Manage → Schedule stream and set up the event. A scheduled stream may appear as upcoming to subscribers, who can choose Notify me.
- Choose the stream’s privacy setting: public, private, or unlisted. Check the selected setting and event details before you start.

3. Add the yoga videos in OBS and enable looping
- One video: add a Media Source, select the video file, and enable Loop.
- Several videos: add a VLC Video source, add the files in the desired order, enable Loop Playlist, and leave Shuffle Playlist off if the order matters. OBS requires VLC to be installed for this source.
Play through the source in OBS before streaming. Check that the file order, picture, and audio are correct and that the intended yoga class can repeat without an unwanted gap or ending screen. OBS’s Media Sources instructions were dated 2022-01-11; exact controls may differ in your installed version. OBS Project: Media Sources
4. Connect OBS to YouTube
- In YouTube Live Control Room, open the stream’s encoder settings and copy the YouTube server URL and stream key.
- In OBS, open Settings → Stream, select the YouTube service, and enter the server URL and stream key as required by the selected connection mode.
- Keep the stream key private. YouTube uses it to identify where the encoder sends the feed and to accept that feed; treat it like a password.
- Start streaming from OBS and wait for the incoming video to appear in YouTube Live Control Room.
Follow the current encoder connection instructions in YouTube Help: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder and Manage live stream settings.

5. Preview, test, and monitor
- Check the Live Control Room preview before starting the event. Confirm the video and audio are present and in sync.
- Check that the event is accessible from the intended channel or watch page and from a mobile device, as appropriate for its privacy setting.
- Run a test stream before relying on the setup overnight. YouTube recommends testing and monitoring audio and video quality.
- Once live, monitor both the feed and the computer/network that are running OBS. The source loop only repeats the files; it does not restart a disconnected encoder or guarantee an uninterrupted broadcast.
Plan for replays and streams longer than 12 hours
YouTube’s encoder guide says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived, with the archive available in the Live tab in YouTube Studio. That statement does not establish that every stream lasting 12 hours or more will be archived. Separately, YouTube warns that DVR may be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours; Apple TV, Apple AirPlay, and older app versions may have lower limits. Viewers cannot seek to a point before the stream went live. Encoder archive guidance · YouTube Help: Turn on DVR on live streams
After a live stream ends, you can post highlights or a replay as videos on your channel. YouTube Help: Learn about live streams

Copyright and yoga-class content
Only stream classes and accompanying music or other material that you own or are authorized to use. A video being uploaded by you does not by itself establish permission to rebroadcast every element in it. Review YouTube’s copyright and live-stream policies for the content you plan to use, and check the event’s privacy and audience settings before going live.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Troubleshoot an overnight loop
- The playlist repeats for you, but the channel is not live: you have enabled viewer-side Loop. Create a YouTube Live event and connect an encoder if the channel must broadcast.
- No video arrives in Live Control Room: confirm OBS is streaming, the event is the one you intended, and the server URL and stream key match that event. Recheck the key privately rather than posting or sharing it.
- The video plays once and stops: confirm Loop is enabled for a Media Source, or Loop Playlist is enabled for a VLC Video source. For a multi-file source, make sure the files are added and VLC is installed.
- Files repeat in the wrong order: arrange the VLC playlist in the intended sequence and turn off Shuffle Playlist.
- The stream stops overnight: check whether the computer, OBS, source file, or network stopped sending data. The loop setting does not provide unattended recovery; test the complete setup and monitor it.
- Viewers cannot rewind far back: DVR may be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours, and viewers cannot seek to before the live stream began. Device and app limitations can also apply.
