- Confirm live access. Verify the channel and check that livestreaming is enabled before the planned start.
- Create or schedule the stream. In YouTube Studio, open the live-stream creation flow, enter an accurate title and other metadata, and choose the intended visibility.
- Connect the encoder. Copy the server URL and stream key shown for the broadcast into the corresponding encoder fields. Treat the key like a password; reset it if it is exposed or compromised.
- Configure the gameplay feed. Select the game capture source, commentary audio if wanted, and overlays. Headphones and an external microphone are typical gaming-stream equipment in YouTube’s guidance, not requirements.
