To stream recorded Fortnite matches around the clock, assemble gameplay clips you have rights to rebroadcast into a program, send that program through a livestream encoder to YouTube Live, and keep the encoder or cloud service running. For monetization, do not rely on an unchanging loop of raw matches: YouTube may reject extended gameplay without appropriate rights or relevant commentary, and permission alone does not guarantee reused-content approval.
What you need before you start
The exact setup depends on where your recordings came from. If they are already saved as video files, you need access to those files, a way to play or sequence them into a live output, and a YouTube channel with livestreaming available. A PC-captured recording may already be on your computer; console-captured footage may have been exported from the console or recorded using a capture setup. No single computer, capture card, external drive, or microphone is established as necessary for every creator.
- Use your own recordings or obtain permission to use someone else’s footage.
- Check rights for all audio and visual material in the broadcast, including in-game or lobby music, overlays, and added soundtracks.
- Choose an encoder or cloud service that supports the playlist or looping behavior you need, and verify its current reconnect behavior before depending on unattended operation.
- Decide whether the stream is for continuous viewing, monetization, or both; the content and policy considerations differ.
Prepare the Fortnite programming
Use footage you can rebroadcast
YouTube’s livestream terms require the person providing a live stream to have the necessary rights for the content on Google services, including music licensing. Owning a recording file does not automatically give you rights to every song, overlay, or other third-party element inside it. Review the terms that apply to your footage and remove or replace material you cannot use.

Give the stream a clear purpose
If monetization matters, build a program that is recognizably yours rather than simply replaying a generic sequence. Commentary tied to the action can explain decisions, tactics, rotations, loadouts, mistakes, or how a particular fight unfolded. A consistent theme—such as ranked endgames, beginner coaching, or analysis of your own matches—helps viewers understand why the clips belong together.
This is not a monetization guarantee. YouTube says gameplay monetization depends on rights granted by the publisher; extended gameplay without appropriate rights may not be accepted, while commentary tied to the action that provides instructional or educational value may qualify. Build and send the 24/7 live program
- Enable and prepare YouTube Live. In YouTube Studio, open Create → Go live and follow the channel’s live-stream setup. If this is your first stream, complete any eligibility or activation steps YouTube displays. Use the stream key shown for the intended broadcast, and keep it private: anyone with access to it may be able to send a stream to your channel.
- Load the recordings into a playback workflow. In your chosen encoder, arrange the video files into a playlist or other continuous playback sequence. Check that the encoder can loop or advance through the files without leaving a gap. YouTube’s encoder help describes features such as browser-source overlays, but a specific unattended 24/7 playlist-loop configuration is not established here; confirm the selected encoder’s current behavior and compatibility.
- Configure the outgoing stream. Use settings supported by both your encoder and YouTube’s current live-stream requirements. Keep the stream key matched to the correct YouTube broadcast, and test the video, audio, and any overlays in a private or unlisted stream before making the channel public. There is no one bitrate, resolution, or keyframe value established for every recording, encoder, and connection, so consult the current YouTube encoder requirements and your encoder’s guidance rather than copying an arbitrary preset.
- Start the encoder and verify the YouTube preview. Confirm that the expected match footage is playing, audio is present and balanced, and the live preview is receiving a stable signal. Check that the title and visibility are correct before inviting viewers.
- Monitor continuity and the archive. Keep an eye on the broadcast and encoder status. YouTube’s livestream terms say live content may be archived for later viewing; the live stream and archive remain subject to applicable terms. Can a 24/7 Fortnite loop be monetized?
Possibly, but continuous availability does not make a channel eligible. YouTube’s monetization policies apply to live streams as well as regular videos and Shorts. The platform assesses a channel as a whole and may reject repetitive, mass-produced, generic, or minimally transformed material. Its reused-content assessment looks for meaningful differences, substantial original commentary or modification, and educational or entertainment value. Copyright permission and reused-content eligibility are separate questions. Permission to rebroadcast footage does not, by itself, ensure that YouTube considers the channel sufficiently original for monetization. Likewise, commentary is not an automatic approval: it should be genuinely connected to what viewers see and offer useful explanation or entertainment.

Potential revenue features
For channels that meet eligibility requirements and have monetization enabled, YouTube lists ads, Super Chat and Super Stickers, and channel memberships as possible live-stream revenue features. Individual ad slots are not guaranteed to serve. YouTube reported an “over 20% uplift in instream ad revenue per hour” in a January 2024 comparison across 207 countries, comparing channels with live automatic mid-roll ads enabled against channels without them; that platform-reported average is not a forecast or earnings promise for a new Fortnite stream. Troubleshoot common failures
- YouTube receives no signal: Check that the encoder is running, the correct stream key is selected, and the encoder is connected to the intended broadcast in YouTube Studio. If you exposed the key, replace it in YouTube and update the encoder.
- The playlist stops or leaves a black gap: Verify the encoder’s loop and end-of-file behavior with a short test playlist. Do not assume an encoder automatically restarts a finished playlist or handles every file format.
- The stream drops and stays offline: Check the computer’s power and network connection if you are self-hosting, then confirm whether the encoder retries and reconnects to the existing YouTube broadcast. Recovery behavior varies by setup.
- Viewers cannot hear the match or commentary: Check the selected audio source, file audio track, encoder mixer, and YouTube preview. Listen for copyrighted music in the recording before broadcasting.
- Monetization is rejected or limited: Review YouTube’s channel-level feedback and policy pages. A loop of raw, repetitive matches may lack the originality or commentary expected; adding superficial changes does not guarantee eligibility.
- A rights claim or restriction appears: Identify the specific matched material, especially music or third-party overlays, and resolve it through the applicable rights process. Do not assume that owning the gameplay recording clears every element.
