To run different game VODs continuously on YouTube, schedule a live event in YouTube Studio, then use an encoder or cloud playout service to send the videos in the order you choose. Studio creates the event; it does not turn uploaded videos into a repeating live playlist. Your playback method supplies the feed and controls sequencing and looping.
Before scheduling: prepare the VODs and check rights
Put the game VODs in the order you want them to play and decide whether the sequence should repeat. Check that you have permission to broadcast the gameplay footage, music, commentary and any other included material. Technical ability to stream a recording does not establish that you have the rights to rebroadcast it or that the channel is eligible for monetization.
YouTube’s live-streaming and monetization rules apply to the actual content and channel. Repetitive or reused programming and copyrighted material can raise separate policy issues; review current YouTube requirements rather than assuming a VOD loop is approved. Choose how the VODs will play

For a local setup, YouTube lists OBS as open-source software at no charge. For hosted playback, cloud vendors describe upload, playlist ordering and continuous streaming; confirm the provider’s current terms and capabilities before relying on them. Schedule the YouTube live event
- Enable live streaming if needed. YouTube says first-time activation may take up to 24 hours, so do this before the time you want to start.
- Open the scheduling flow. In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live → Manage → Schedule stream. Reuse prior settings or create a new scheduled stream.
- Set the event details. Add the title, description, visibility and start time that fit the channel and audience. Scheduling creates a shareable event URL and lets viewers set reminders; it does not start VOD playback on its own.
- Get the connection details. Copy the stream URL and stream key shown in Studio. Treat the key as a password: do not publish it or share it with anyone who should not be able to broadcast to the channel.

Configure playback and connect the encoder
With local software
- Open the encoder and configure the game VOD file or playlist as its playback source. Exact playback controls depend on the software and any playlist or media-source workflow you use; YouTube’s scheduling instructions do not specify those controls.
- Set the encoder’s destination to YouTube using the stream URL and stream key from the scheduled event.
- Start the encoder feed before the scheduled start so Studio can receive it. In YouTube’s documented scheduled-event flow, wait for the preview to appear, check that it is the intended feed, then select Go live.
With cloud playout
- Upload the VOD files to the service and arrange them in the intended sequence.
- Choose the service’s repeat or continuous-play option if the rotation should cycle, and configure its YouTube destination with the stream URL and key from Studio.
- Start the cloud feed. Check the YouTube preview and the service’s playback status and playlist order.
The playback system—not a native YouTube playlist control—determines which VOD plays next and whether the sequence repeats.

Plan for a continuous broadcast and its archive
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume that a single uninterrupted 24/7 broadcast will produce one complete archive. Plan how you will rotate or manage the broadcast and its recordings, then verify the resulting archive in Studio. If a complete record matters, decide in advance how to preserve the original VODs separately from YouTube’s live archive.
During the broadcast, check the live preview, stream status and actual playlist position. Cloud providers may describe reconnect or monitoring features, but those are vendor claims, not independent measurements of reliability.

Troubleshooting common problems
- No live preview in Studio: Confirm the encoder is running and that it has the correct stream URL and key for the scheduled event. Allow for first-time live-stream activation, which YouTube says can take up to 24 hours.
- The scheduled event exists, but playback has not begun: Scheduling creates the event, not the video feed. Start the local encoder or cloud playout, then follow Studio’s preview-and-Go-live flow.
- VODs play in the wrong order or stop after one: Check the playlist order and repeat setting in the playback system. YouTube Studio does not supply the VOD sequencing.
- The stream ends or disconnects: Check the encoder or cloud service’s connection and status, then reconnect the feed and verify the preview before resuming. Recovery behavior depends on the method or service used.
- The archive is incomplete: Check the stream duration and the archive in Studio. YouTube’s stated automatic archive coverage applies to streams under 12 hours, not an assurance of one complete recording for a longer continuous broadcast.
- A VOD is claimed or monetization is unavailable: Review the rights for the gameplay, music and other material, as well as the current YouTube policy and channel eligibility. The ability to transmit a recording does not establish permission or monetization eligibility.
