First confirm that your channel can livestream, and clear the music and visuals for live broadcast. An MP4 file is not permission to rebroadcast its contents.
Before you set up the stream
Check channel eligibility and activation time
YouTube Help says a channel must be verified, have no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days, and be operated by someone at least 16 years old. First-time live-streaming activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it before your planned launch. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance and its encoder setup guide.
Clear every song and visual for this use
Use only recordings, compositions, artwork, and video you own or have permission to use in a YouTube live broadcast. Keep permission and license records. Confirm that rights cover your channel, live use, intended territories, monetization if applicable, and any replay or archive you plan to keep.
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. A match can replace your stream with a placeholder, interrupt it, or lead to termination; strikes can also end a stream. Even if a rights holder licensed the music, YouTube says the channel may need to be allowlisted through Content ID to avoid interruptions. Ask the rights holder or distributor to confirm that step before relying on a license. After a stream ends, Content ID claims may be made on an archived live stream if you choose to archive it. Read YouTube’s explanation of copyright issues with live streams. The status of any specific Haryanvi recording depends on its rights and your permission; neither availability online nor possession of an MP4 establishes that permission.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Prepare the MP4 playlist
Gather the authorized files and decide their playback order. Check that each file plays through in full before using it in an unattended stream. If you are combining audio tracks and visuals, make sure the complete result is authorized, not just one component.
The cited YouTube and OBS guidance does not establish one universal MP4 codec, frame rate, bitrate, resolution, playlist duration, or OBS media-source configuration for this use. Check current encoder documentation and test your files and connection rather than treating a guessed setting as a platform requirement. Your encoder must be able to play the files and deliver a stable feed to YouTube.

Create a YouTube Live stream and protect its key
- Open YouTube Studio and choose Create → Go Live.
- In the Stream tab, create or select the stream.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key shown in Studio into your encoder’s stream settings.
- Keep the stream key private. Someone who obtains it may be able to send content to your stream. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in Studio and update the encoder before restarting.
YouTube Help says a channel can have up to 10 active streams and a stream key can have up to 3 active streams. Check the current limits in YouTube’s eligibility and live-streaming help if your workflow uses multiple simultaneous feeds.
Choose how to play and send the videos
OBS on a computer you keep running
OBS Studio is free and open source. It can encode and send a live feed, but the computer must remain powered, connected, and able to play the prepared media for the broadcast to continue. Configure OBS to play the files in your chosen order, connect it to YouTube using the stream URL and key, then check YouTube’s incoming preview and stream status before leaving it unattended. The OBS Help Portal explains its controls and troubleshooting.

OBS reports that rising dropped frames indicate connection instability or a bitrate the connection cannot sustain. If frames drop, investigate the network and encoder load rather than assuming the MP4 itself is defective.
Dedicated hardware
YouTube’s encoder guide describes the AJA HELO Plus and its PlayToStream function for scheduling prerecorded media directly to YouTube Live without a computer. This is a specialist hardware option, not a requirement. Verify current product capabilities, compatibility, and purchase cost before choosing it.

Cloud playlist service
A cloud playlist service can upload files and send a continuous RTMP feed while your local computer is off. Looping Stream describes this workflow on its service page. That is the vendor’s description, not a YouTube guarantee: invalid keys, source-file problems, platform outages, or service interruptions can still stop a stream. Verify current terms and operating limits before paying.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Start the broadcast and monitor it
- Start the encoder or scheduled hardware playback and wait for the incoming feed to appear in YouTube Live Control Room.
- Check the preview and on-screen stream status. Use Studio’s go-live controls where prompted; do not assume that sending an encoder feed alone means the public broadcast is live.
- Monitor the stream after launch, especially when first testing a playlist or connection. Confirm that playback advances as expected and that Studio shows no warning or copyright alert.
- To end an encoder-based stream, stop sending content from the encoder, as YouTube’s encoder guidance instructs.
YouTube Help says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That guidance does not establish that one 24-hour broadcast will be archived in full.

Compare the ways to keep the stream running
| Method | Must a computer stay online? | What it supports | Main trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo cloud service | No, once configured | Upload videos, add the YouTube stream key, and let the cloud loop them; any quality up to 4K 60fps as uploaded at one flat price per slot; first day free. | Requires a paid slot after the free first day; rights clearance still applies. |
| OBS software encoder | Yes | Free, open-source software that sends an encoder feed accepted by YouTube. | Depends on local power, computer playback, and a stable upstream connection. |
| AJA HELO Plus | Not for scheduled prerecorded playback, according to YouTube’s guide | YouTube describes PlayToStream scheduling prerecorded media directly to YouTube Live. | Dedicated hardware; verify current capabilities and purchase cost. |
| Other cloud playlist service | No, according to the vendor-described workflow | Looping Stream describes uploaded playlists delivered continuously over RTMP. | Availability and service terms vary; interruptions remain possible. |
Choose based on whether you can leave a computer running, how much restart and monitoring responsibility you want, and whether local hardware or a recurring service fits your needs. Music permissions are necessary whichever method you choose.
Troubleshoot common interruptions
YouTube does not receive the encoder feed
- Recheck that the encoder has the stream URL and current stream key copied from the correct Studio stream.
- Confirm the channel’s live-streaming access is enabled; initial activation can take up to 24 hours.
- Check the local internet connection and whether the encoder is actually sending content.
OBS shows increasing dropped frames
- OBS identifies connection instability or an unsustainable bitrate as likely causes. Check upstream stability and encoder settings against the connection’s capacity.
- Test again with the actual files and setup; the cited guidance does not prescribe a universal bitrate or video profile for every channel.
YouTube interrupts or replaces the stream
- Check Live Control Room and Studio for copyright notices, strikes, or other alerts.
- For licensed third-party content, contact the rights holder about Content ID allowlisting; a license alone may not prevent an automated interruption.
- Resolve the underlying rights or policy issue before restarting, rather than repeatedly sending the same material.
A cloud or hardware stream stops
- Check the service or device’s status, the stream key, and the source file or playlist order.
- For a vendor-hosted workflow, consult its current support and service terms; a cloud location does not guarantee uninterrupted delivery.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo keeps a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos: upload the files, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; it streams the files as uploaded, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month. It plays uploaded videos rather than going live from a camera, and you still need the rights to broadcast the music. Start your free first day with StreamNeo.
