You can run a continuous YouTube channel from recorded drawing lessons by creating an encoder-based live broadcast and feeding it from a looping playlist. The playback can run on an always-on computer, dedicated hardware, or a cloud service. Before committing to a single 24-hour broadcast, plan for child-directed audience settings, monitoring, and YouTube’s archive limits.
Choose where the videos will play
YouTube broadcasts use an encoder—a software application or standalone device—that sends video to YouTube using a server URL and stream key. You can create or schedule the broadcast in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, then connect the encoder. YouTube’s verified-encoder list includes software and hardware products and identifies Gyre as a cloud-based option for continuous prerecorded-video streaming. A listing establishes that an option exists; it does not guarantee that a particular setup will meet your needs.
| Approach | Where playback runs | What to check for a continuous channel |
|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Cloud | Uploads recorded videos and keeps a YouTube stream running from the cloud. One flat price per slot for any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps; first day free. |
| Software encoder | Your computer | Confirm the software can loop a playlist and recover from a lost connection. The computer and its network connection must remain available and monitored. |
| Hardware encoder | A dedicated device | Check the required video input, resolution, network connection, automation, and recovery behavior. YouTube’s listed products are made by third parties, not YouTube. |
| Other cloud or scheduling services | Provider’s cloud infrastructure | Verify continuous looping, restarts, recovery, alerts, stream-duration limits, current pricing, and terms. YouTube lists Gyre for 24/7 prerecorded-video streaming; a separate OneStream Live help article describes scheduling prerecorded streams, but does not establish uninterrupted 24/7 operation. |
If you need one uninterrupted channel rather than occasional scheduled lessons, ask how a service handles the end of a playlist, a dropped connection, a handoff between videos, and a session that reaches a platform limit. Do not assume every service or encoder includes the same automation or recovery.
Check eligibility and prepare the channel
- The channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions during the preceding 90 days, according to YouTube Help.
- First-time live-stream activation may take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before the planned launch.
- YouTube’s general setup guidance says a person must be at least 16 to live stream.
- Decide whether the content is made for kids based on its actual audience and content. Set the audience designation accurately in Live Control Room.
Create and test the broadcast
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room. Create a stream or schedule one. YouTube recommends setting up an encoder stream at least two hours before the event.
- Copy the connection details. In the stream setup, obtain the YouTube server URL and stream key, then enter them in your software or hardware encoder. Treat the stream key as a credential: do not show it in tutorial footage or share it publicly.
- Build the playback source. Add the recorded drawing lessons to the encoder’s playlist or playback workflow and configure looping or handoff as supported by that tool. Test what happens when the last video ends; a playlist that simply stops is not a 24/7 channel.
- Start the encoder early. YouTube recommends starting encoders at least 15 minutes before a scheduled start, then checking the incoming preview before going live.
- Verify the viewer experience. Confirm that the watch page is accessible from the channel and on mobile. Check picture, sound, lesson transitions, and any on-screen instructions. Test failover where available.
- Monitor the broadcast. YouTube advises creators to “Continuously monitor streams for audio and video quality.” Arrange for someone to respond if the stream freezes, goes silent, or stops.
Set expectations for a children’s drawing channel
If the stream is designated made for kids, YouTube disables live chat and chat replay, Super Chat, comments on live-stream archives and upcoming streams, and reminder notifications. Personalized ads are also disabled, though contextual ads may still appear. Viewers therefore cannot ask for the next drawing or request help in live chat. Use clear lesson titles, an on-screen index, and appropriate companion materials instead of promising live interaction.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Plan for archives and 24/7 continuity
YouTube Help says broadcasts under 12 hours are automatically archived. That guidance does not establish that a single 24-hour broadcast will be saved in full as one archive. If a complete replay matters, keep a separate master recording or consider shorter broadcast sessions, and test the resulting archive experience before relying on it.
Continuous playback also needs an operating plan. Check for playlist-end behavior, network interruptions, encoder restarts, and any duration limits imposed by the platform or service you choose. YouTube recommends monitoring and testing failover where available; the platform guidance does not establish a universal uptime guarantee for every setup.
