You can keep Minecraft survival episodes live on YouTube by connecting an encoder to a YouTube broadcast and keeping the game, computer, and internet connection running. That is the do-it-yourself route—but it is not automatically unattended: a crash, disconnect, copyright match, or planned broadcast ending can interrupt it. YouTube also says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived, so do not assume one 24-hour broadcast will be saved as a single complete recording.
What a 24/7 Minecraft stream requires
YouTube’s encoder workflow sends video from a game or screen to a live broadcast using a stream URL and stream key. For Minecraft survival, the game must also keep producing the footage. In a local setup, that means the Minecraft session, computer, encoder, and network all need to remain available. This is a practical requirement of the setup, not a YouTube guarantee of uninterrupted service.

- Minecraft running in the world or session you want to broadcast.
- An encoder configured with YouTube’s server URL and stream key.
- A stable computer and internet connection, plus a plan for monitoring and recovery.

How do I keep a Minecraft stream live all day?
1. Enable and check live-stream access
Verify your YouTube channel and check that it has live-streaming access before scheduling a broadcast. YouTube says a channel must have no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days, and the streamer must be at least 16. First-time live-stream enablement may take up to 24 hours; that is not a guarantee that a channel will be approved or eligible. 2. Prepare the Minecraft session
Open the survival world you intend to show and decide what will happen when you are not actively playing. A stream can remain live while the game is idle, but unattended gameplay is not the same as a designed episode: consider whether viewers will see meaningful activity, a paused menu, a death screen, or a disconnected world. If you use a server, confirm that the session and any required player connection behave as you expect. The YouTube guidance does not prescribe a Minecraft-specific unattended launch or restart setup.

3. Configure an encoder
YouTube recommends an encoder for broadcasting gameplay. An encoder can be software or standalone hardware. In its stream settings, enter the YouTube stream URL and stream key shown for the broadcast. Exact controls vary by encoder, so use that encoder’s instructions for selecting the Minecraft capture source, audio sources, resolution, frame rate, and bitrate.
Do not publish or display the stream key. It connects the encoder to your YouTube broadcast, so treat it like an account credential. Resolution, bitrate, keyframe interval, hardware capacity, and required upload bandwidth depend on your chosen encoder settings and connection; the cited YouTube material does not establish one universal Minecraft configuration or numeric target.

4. Create the broadcast in YouTube Studio
Open YouTube Studio and use Live Control Room to create a stream or schedule one. A scheduled stream can have a watch page that you share ahead of time. Connect the encoder using the stream URL and key, start the encoder, and check the preview and broadcast status before going live. YouTube’s encoder setup guide describes this workflow. Labels and controls may vary as YouTube updates Studio or by account.
5. Monitor continuity and plan recovery
Do not promise viewers zero downtime. Monitor whether Minecraft is still running, whether the encoder is sending video, and whether the network remains connected. Before announcing an around-the-clock stream, test what happens if the game closes, the computer restarts, the internet drops, or YouTube disconnects the encoder. The official YouTube material does not provide a Minecraft-specific watchdog, automatic game relauncher, or guaranteed reconnection behavior.

Choose deliberately between planned broadcast boundaries and a more technical API-driven arrangement. YouTube’s developer documentation describes broadcast and stream resources separately and discusses using a distinct stream resource for each broadcast in a 24/7 setup; it is not a beginner click-by-click restart procedure. Will YouTube save a 24-hour stream?
YouTube’s encoder help page says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not treat that as a promise that a single 24-hour session will automatically become one complete archive. If retaining the footage matters, plan around the documented under-12-hour behavior and confirm what appears in your channel after a test broadcast. The archive behavior is separate from whether the live broadcast stays connected.

How to avoid copyright interruptions
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A detected match can lead to a placeholder, warning, interruption, or termination if the match persists. Copyright handling for an archive is a separate process. If you have a license for third-party material, YouTube says the rights owner may need to allowlist your channel through Content ID or the live broadcast may still be interrupted. Minecraft gameplay and monetization rules
Minecraft’s Usage Guidelines allow gameplay videos and streams, including ad revenue under stated conditions: the content must be free to view and include enough unique creator contribution. Commentary is one example. A logo, website address, or overlay alone may not be enough, and the guidelines restrict certain uses of gameplay to advertise unrelated products or services. A 24/7 feed of raw, unattended gameplay should not be assumed to meet the unique-contribution condition. Music in a Minecraft stream
Minecraft’s music guidance distinguishes Minecraft-owned music approved for qualifying uses from music licensed by other rights holders. The approved Minecraft-owned music may be used for non-commercial content and qualifying commercial content that meets the Usage Guidelines. Other licensed music generally requires permission from the rights holder. Do not assume a track is cleared simply because it is played inside Minecraft or because it appears in a game. Common problems and what to check
- The encoder does not connect: Confirm that you copied the correct stream URL and key for the broadcast, that the key has not been changed, and that the encoder is using the right stream settings. Re-copy the key from Live Control Room if needed; do not share it publicly.
- The broadcast starts, then goes offline: Check the computer, Minecraft session, encoder status, and internet connection. Test reconnection and restart behavior before relying on an unattended setup; the cited guidance does not promise automatic recovery for a Minecraft session.
- Viewers see a placeholder or the stream is interrupted: Check for third-party audio or video matches and resolve rights issues. If licensed material is involved, confirm whether the rights owner must allowlist the channel through Content ID.
- The full day is not available as one archive: YouTube documents automatic archiving for streams under 12 hours, not a guaranteed complete single archive for a 24-hour broadcast. Plan recording and broadcast boundaries around that limit.
- Monetization is unavailable or uncertain: Check YouTube Partner Program eligibility and whether the broadcast adds enough original contribution under Minecraft’s guidelines. Do not rely on an overlay alone to establish originality.
