An Intel N100 mini PC is a sensible budget starting point for a simple prerecorded YouTube loop, but the available evidence does not establish a single best-value model or prove any model’s 24/7 endurance. Thinvent’s Treo N100 is a concrete India-market option; its listed Ubuntu configuration has wired gigabit Ethernet and passive cooling, but the seller requires a quote. If you need the channel to keep running without leaving a computer at home, StreamNeo is a cloud alternative: upload a video, add your YouTube stream key, and go live.
What to look for in a budget mini PC
For a prerecorded loop, you do not need a gaming-class PC or a machine for live scene composition. An Intel N100 mini PC is a plausible low-cost class to investigate, but that suitability is an inference from the simpler workload—not a published benchmark or verified continuous-stream test.
Compare actual configurations rather than processor names alone. Before buying, check the total quoted price including taxes and operating system, included RAM and storage, wired Ethernet, cooling and installation conditions, vendor warranty and support, whether it can boot automatically after power loss, and whether it has been tested for a long stream using your intended encoder and settings. Whole-system power draw, streaming-load noise and temperatures are not established for the cited Treo configuration.
An India-market example: Thinvent Treo N100
Thinvent lists a Treo N100 configuration with 16 GB DDR4 RAM, a 512 GB SSD, gigabit Ethernet, passive fanless cooling, Ubuntu Linux 24.04 LTS and a 12 V/5 A power adapter. The product page says this configuration has no Wi-Fi and asks buyers to request a quote, so it is not a confirmed lowest-price offer. Its listing also gives a 0–40°C operating temperature range; that is not a guarantee that a particular installation will remain cool enough under every environment or workload. Use suitable airflow and consider your room’s ambient temperature.
#1 Best Overall
The listed adapter rating is not the computer’s typical power consumption. Likewise, Intel’s 6 W TDP for the N100 is a processor specification, not measured wall power for the complete mini PC while streaming. Ask the seller for a current quote, included OS and warranty details, stock and lead time, and how the system behaves after a power interruption. Those details can change.
Can an Intel N100 handle a prerecorded stream?
Intel specifies the N100 as a four-core, four-thread processor with boost speeds up to 3.40 GHz, Intel UHD Graphics and Quick Sync Video. Intel lists a 6 W TDP. These specifications make it a plausible candidate to test for a straightforward prerecorded stream, but they do not establish encode performance in a specific mini PC, measured energy use, or 24/7 reliability. For a video loop, keep the setup simple and validate the exact hardware, software, resolution and bitrate you plan to use.

Set the stream quality to match your upload connection
Choose resolution and bitrate based on a wired connection’s reliable upload capacity, not its advertised download speed. YouTube recommends testing upload bitrate, testing the stream before launch and monitoring stream health. For H.264, its current encoder guidance recommends 10 Mbps at 1080p30 or 17 Mbps at 1080p60. Those are encoder bitrate recommendations, not guarantees that the rest of your household can use the connection without affecting the stream.
- Use RTMPS when available for encrypted transport.
- Set a constant bitrate (CBR) and a two-second keyframe interval; YouTube says not to exceed four seconds.
- YouTube’s encoder guidance lists RTMP/RTMPS and H.264, H.265 and AV1, with frame rates up to 60 fps. Confirm that your chosen encoder and stream configuration support the options you select.
- Test with representative motion and audio, then check YouTube’s stream health dashboard before relying on the setup.
Encoder recommendations can change, so check YouTube’s live encoder settings before configuring a new stream.

Prepare the PC and YouTube stream for continuous operation
- Confirm the configuration. Verify the mini PC’s included operating system, memory, storage, Ethernet, warranty and support with the seller. Ask whether the BIOS can automatically power on after an outage and whether the OS and encoder restart into the stream.
- Use wired Ethernet. The Treo configuration cited here lists gigabit Ethernet but no Wi-Fi. Connect it to the router by cable and verify stable upload capacity at the location where the PC will run.
- Install and configure your encoder. Use the encoder’s stream setup to enter the YouTube stream key and select the resolution, frame rate, H.264 bitrate, CBR and keyframe interval appropriate to your upload connection. Keep the stream key private.
- Run a representative test. Play the intended recording with its actual audio and motion, use the intended output settings, and inspect YouTube stream health. Do not treat a short successful test as proof of long-term reliability.
- Test recovery. Check how the PC, operating system and encoder behave after restarting the application and after a controlled power interruption. Confirm recovery before depending on the stream; uninterrupted availability also depends on power, internet service and YouTube ingest.
- Monitor the live stream. Watch YouTube’s stream health and verify that the intended video continues to loop. Investigate dropped frames, connection interruptions or an encoder that has stopped instead of assuming the mini PC will recover by itself.
Costs and buying checks in India
No comparable public India price is established for the Treo N100 listing because it is quote-based. Request an itemised, current quote and compare complete configurations, not just CPU labels. Confirm taxes, OS, warranty, stock and delivery timing directly with the seller. The listing’s stock and lead-time statements can change, so reconfirm them before ordering.
Budget for the whole operating setup, not only the mini PC: a wired Ethernet cable is useful where the router is not nearby, and a UPS may help bridge brief power interruptions. No specific cable, UPS size or system power figure is established here, so size any backup equipment using the actual system load and the runtime you need.

What a mini PC cannot guarantee
A computer is only one part of a 24/7 stream. Home power, router and ISP availability, the encoder’s restart behavior, cooling conditions and YouTube’s ingest all affect continuity. YouTube advises preflight testing and health monitoring; neither a low processor TDP nor a fanless case proves uninterrupted operation.
Also check that the videos and audio you plan to stream are yours to use. A continuously repeated recording does not remove copyright obligations or guarantee eligibility under YouTube’s monetization rules. Review YouTube’s current policies for the channel and content before building a long-running broadcast.
