Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →You can stream a prerecorded video on YouTube Live by creating or scheduling a YouTube Live event, then sending it a continuous encoder feed that plays the video file. Run that encoder on a virtual machine in an Indian cloud region, or use a managed prerecorded-streaming service. An Indian cloud region supplies infrastructure; it does not automatically configure or operate the YouTube stream.
Choose how to play the video
Managed prerecorded playback
YouTube’s encoder directory lists Gyre as a cloud-based service for 24/7 streaming of prerecorded videos. It also lists AJA HELO Plus PlayToStream, which allows prerecorded media to be scheduled and streamed directly to YouTube Live without a computer. These are listed products, not YouTube endorsements; the available information does not establish their current pricing, terms, or India-specific suitability. See YouTube’s encoder directory.
Your own encoder on a cloud VM
A virtual machine gives you control over the encoder and where the media is stored, but you must configure and maintain playback, encoding, scheduling, process restarts, and monitoring. A cloud VM is not a turnkey YouTube streaming workflow. Choose a location based on latency, cost, resiliency, service availability, and proximity to media storage; Google Cloud names these as relevant location-selection factors.
AWS lists cloud regions in Mumbai and Hyderabad. Google Cloud identifies Mumbai (asia-south1) for its Live Stream API. Those facts establish regional availability for the named infrastructure or service—not a one-click prerecorded-video-to-YouTube product. See AWS regions and Availability Zones and Google Cloud Live Stream API locations.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
StreamNeo for cloud playback
For a managed option focused on keeping prerecorded video live on YouTube, StreamNeo runs playback in the cloud: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It is #1 to try for this use because it stays on from the cloud, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and includes a free first day. StreamNeo streams to YouTube only and plays uploaded videos; it does not stream from a camera. Details are at StreamNeo.
Set up a YouTube Live event
- Enable live streaming. Verify the channel and enable live streaming in YouTube. YouTube says first-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so do not leave this until the planned start. See YouTube’s live-streaming setup guidance.
- Create or schedule the event. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create a stream or schedule one. Choose the event settings and visibility appropriate for your channel and audience.
- Get the encoder connection details. Copy the stream URL and stream key shown in Live Control Room into the encoder. Treat the key like a password: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your stream. Use RTMPS when your encoder supports it; RTMPS encrypts the connection between the compatible encoder and YouTube.
- Prepare the file and playback process. Put the video where the encoder can access it, configure the encoder to play it, and set up continuous output to the event. For a repeated broadcast, configure looping and the start and stop schedule explicitly. On a VM, also arrange process supervision, logging, and recovery if playback or encoding stops.
- Preview before going public. Start the encoder feed early enough for Live Control Room to receive it. Check the preview, audio, and video before starting the public event. YouTube recommends monitoring audio and video and having about 20% more upload bandwidth than the stream bitrate.
- Monitor and stop deliberately. Watch the feed during the event and stop the encoder when the broadcast is finished. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; plan around that limit if you want an automatic saved replay.

Configure a self-managed encoder without assuming a universal command
The exact encoder settings depend on the source file, desired output, and encoder. The available documentation does not establish one FFmpeg command or fixed bitrate that is correct for every file and YouTube event. Set the encoder’s destination to YouTube’s event stream URL and key, select output settings supported by your source and YouTube’s current guidance, and test the result in Live Control Room.
AWS documents an FFmpeg example that sends a recorded file to Amazon IVS over RTMPS. It demonstrates the general mechanics of encoding a recorded file, but its destination is IVS—not YouTube—so it is not a copy-and-paste YouTube command. For a VM-based YouTube setup, you still need to configure the correct YouTube ingest details and handle looping, event scheduling, restarts, and process supervision on your chosen host. See AWS’s FFmpeg recorded-video example for IVS.

Plan bandwidth, storage, and reliability
- Bandwidth: Ensure the VM has outbound capacity above the configured stream bitrate. YouTube recommends roughly 20% upload headroom; treat this as headroom over your chosen bitrate, not as a bitrate setting.
- Media location: Keeping the file near the encoder can simplify access and reduce dependence on a separate storage path. Factor storage location into provider and region selection.
- Recovery: A VM process can stop or lose its connection. Configure monitoring and a restart policy if you self-host; a managed service may reduce the server operations you must handle. Neither approach removes the need to check the YouTube feed.
- Security: Restrict access to the stream key and rotate it if exposed. Prefer RTMPS where supported to encrypt the encoder-to-YouTube connection.
- Replay: If an archived replay matters, schedule within YouTube’s under-12-hour automatic-archive behavior and verify the resulting archive in Studio.
Common problems and fixes
The stream key or event does not connect
Check that the encoder uses the stream URL and key for the same event currently open in Live Control Room. Recopy the details if needed, verify the key has not been changed, and confirm the encoder supports the selected connection method.
The preview is unstable or drops frames
Check the VM’s outbound capacity against the encoder bitrate and leave YouTube’s recommended headroom. Inspect the encoder and host logs for interruptions, and check the preview before making the event public.

The file plays but the event has no sound or picture
Inspect the incoming preview in Live Control Room and verify that the encoder is reading the intended file and sending both audio and video. Confirm the file’s tracks and the encoder’s output configuration rather than assuming the upload alone guarantees a valid feed.
The first broadcast cannot start immediately
If live streaming has only just been enabled, activation may take up to 24 hours. Enable it ahead of the scheduled event and verify access before relying on the channel for a time-sensitive broadcast.

The stream stops when the video ends or the process exits
For repeated playback, configure looping rather than expecting a file to repeat automatically. On a VM, set up a supervisor or restart policy and monitor it; a restart should be followed by checking that the correct YouTube event is receiving the feed.
Or let it run in the cloud
With StreamNeo, upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay powered on at home. The uploaded video streams at its original quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot; YouTube stream drops trigger automatic recovery. The first day is free with no card required, one free day per account. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. Start your free StreamNeo day.
