To run a 24/7 morning bhajan playlist as a YouTube live stream, send prerecorded videos through an encoder or a cloud streaming service. A YouTube playlist by itself does not create a live broadcast. Before going live, enable streaming on your channel, confirm rights for every recording, add your YouTube stream key to the encoder, and test the preview. Plan for YouTube’s limits on archiving and DVR for broadcasts longer than 12 hours.
What you need before you start
- A YouTube channel eligible for live streaming. YouTube says the channel must be verified, have no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days, and the streamer must be at least 16. First-time live-stream enablement can take up to 24 hours. Start the process early: YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
- The bhajan recordings and compositions, with rights that cover YouTube livestreaming and the territories where viewers may watch.
- An encoder: software on a computer, a standalone hardware encoder, or a managed cloud service. YouTube describes these encoder options in its encoder setup guide.
- A stable upload connection with enough capacity for the stream bitrate plus headroom. YouTube recommends 20% headroom in its streaming tips.
Choose how to keep the stream running
Software encoder on a computer
Streaming software sends your prepared video and audio to YouTube. This can be a practical DIY route, but the computer, encoder, power, and internet connection all need to stay available for the broadcast. A restart, software failure, or network interruption can break the feed.
Standalone hardware encoder
A dedicated encoder can suit a fixed production setup, but it is not required. YouTube supports software encoding as well, so choose hardware only if it fits your setup and budget.
Managed cloud streaming
A cloud service can run uploaded videos without leaving a home computer on. It does not remove the need to clear music rights, test the YouTube feed, or understand YouTube’s archive and DVR limits.

Clear the bhajan music rights before streaming
Use recordings that are public domain or for which you have permission. A “free” label, a credit in the description, or permission to listen does not by itself establish permission to livestream. Check the license for both the composition and the particular recording, including live use, continuous playback, monetization, and relevant territories. Keep the license or permission records.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches. It says: “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” An identified match can replace the stream with a placeholder; unresolved use may interrupt or terminate the broadcast. If you have a license, ask the rights owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist to reduce interruption risk. YouTube’s Creator Music terms are not a general live-music license. The cited help page describes availability for U.S. YouTube Partner Program creators, with expansion outside the U.S. pending; terms vary by track, and revenue-sharing tracks under those rules cannot be used in live streams. Check Creator Music usage details rather than assuming a track cleared there is cleared for a 24/7 livestream.

YouTube’s livestream terms require you to have the necessary rights for worldwide exploitation on Google services, including music licensing rights. Read the livestream terms and conditions and obtain rights suited to your intended broadcast.

- Enable live streaming and verify the channel. In YouTube Studio, start the live-streaming setup and complete any verification steps. If this is your first time enabling it, allow up to 24 hours for access to become available. Check that the channel has not had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days.
- Create a stream in Live Control Room. Open YouTube Studio, go to Live Control Room, and create or schedule a stream. YouTube provides a stream URL and stream key for the encoder.
- Protect and enter the stream key. Paste the stream URL and key into the encoder’s YouTube destination settings. Treat the key like a password: do not put it in a public post or share it with people who should not control the stream. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- Prepare the playlist in the encoder. Add the bhajan video files in the order you want them played and enable looping if the encoder supports it. Check that the playlist does not stop after one pass, that transitions do not create unwanted silence, and that the audio level is consistent. The exact playlist controls depend on the encoder you choose.
- Start the encoder and inspect YouTube’s preview. Confirm YouTube receives both picture and sound before making the stream public. Check the title, thumbnail, visibility, and watch page before launch.
- Monitor the live output. Keep an eye on audio/video quality and the watch page. If your setup includes a backup encoder, test failover before relying on it. Save a separate local recording if you need an archive.

Plan bitrate, bandwidth, and continuity
Choose a stream bitrate that your upload connection can sustain consistently. YouTube recommends that total upload bandwidth exceed the stream bitrate, with 20% headroom. That margin helps absorb normal network variation; it is not an uptime guarantee. Network disruption can interrupt the stream.

- Preview the feed and check sound and picture on the YouTube watch page, including from a mobile device.
- Monitor audio and video while the stream is running; verify that any local recording is actually being saved.
- If you use a backup encoder or network, test the switch rather than assuming it will work.

Understand the 12-hour archive and DVR limit
YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. DVR rewind can also be limited or unavailable for broadcasts longer than 12 hours. A 24-hour session is therefore not a dependable way to create a complete YouTube replay. Keep a local recording if the archive matters; if replay access is important, consider separate, shorter sessions and explain the schedule to viewers. Monetization and channel expectations
YouTube’s encoder guide says live-stream monetization is available to creators in the YouTube Partner Program. That does not guarantee approval or earnings, and it does not replace music rights. Creator Music revenue-sharing track terms described by YouTube do not authorize those tracks for livestream use.

Make the stream’s title and description clear that it is a continuous bhajan broadcast, and avoid implying that you own recordings unless you do. A rights claim, channel restriction, or network failure can affect a stream regardless of its playlist setup.

YouTube does not accept the stream
Confirm live streaming has been enabled, the channel is verified, and the correct current stream URL and key are in the encoder. A first-time enablement may take up to 24 hours. Replace a key that was exposed and update the encoder with the new one.
The stream stops or drops unexpectedly
Check whether the encoder, computer, power, or upload connection failed. Compare available upload bandwidth with the bitrate and preserve YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom. Review encoder logs and test any backup arrangement before the next broadcast.

The video plays but audio is missing or uneven
Check the encoder’s audio source and output meters, then inspect the YouTube preview. Confirm each playlist file has an audio track and listen through transitions before going live.
YouTube interrupts the stream for a copyright match
Do not assume a free label or credit line is enough. Confirm rights for the composition and recording, including live use; contact the rights owner about Content ID allowlisting if you already have permission. Remove or replace material you cannot clear.
The broadcast has no complete replay
A stream over 12 hours may not be archived, and DVR rewind may be limited or unavailable. Preserve a local recording or break the schedule into shorter sessions if viewers need replays.
