Use two separate YouTube Studio playlists to organize English and Spanish sermons for viewers to browse. If you want recordings to play automatically as a scheduled YouTube livestream, a channel playlist alone will not do that: use a prerecorded-stream workflow such as Restream’s playlist feature, or a compatible encoder such as the AJA HELO Plus.
Choose between playlists and a livestream
A YouTube playlist is for organizing and sharing videos. You can arrange sermons, give each playlist a clear language-specific title, and translate its title and description. That does not make the playlist a continuous or scheduled live broadcast. YouTube documents livestream scheduling separately through Live Control Room and an encoder. See YouTube’s playlist instructions and YouTube’s encoder instructions.
- Viewers should choose and play sermons: make an English playlist and a Spanish playlist.
- Recordings should air in sequence as a scheduled livestream: use a prerecorded-stream workflow, and schedule a separate event for each language if you want distinct English and Spanish broadcasts.
Create the English and Spanish playlists
- In YouTube Studio, create a playlist for English sermons and another for Spanish sermons.
- Give each playlist a clear title and description, such as “English Sermons” and “Sermones en español.”
- Add the appropriate recordings and arrange them in the order viewers should watch them.
- Add translated titles and descriptions so viewers can find the playlist in the other language. YouTube Studio supports playlist ordering, sharing, and translated metadata; consult YouTube’s playlist management guide for the current controls.
Keep the collections distinct if the church wants viewers to select a language before choosing a sermon. A playlist is a useful library, but it does not automatically turn those recordings into a livestream.
Schedule prerecorded sermons as a livestream

Restream documents a workflow for scheduling prerecorded video playlists to YouTube. Its help article, published July 25, 2026, describes selecting Pre-recorded livestream, choosing Playlist, adding or selecting video files, dragging them into sequence, previewing, and scheduling the event. This requires an Upload & Stream add-on tier. Follow the current steps in Restream’s playlist guide.

Restream’s listed plan details were accessed October 3, 2026; they are vendor terms and can change. Its help page says playlists may run up to 24 hours and contain up to 40 videos. It also says videos can be added, removed, or reordered only before a playlist goes live.

Dedicated encoder hardware
YouTube’s encoder help page names the AJA HELO Plus as a device whose PlayToStream functionality can schedule prerecorded media directly to YouTube Live without a computer. This is a dedicated hardware option; the cited YouTube page does not establish it as the least expensive choice. See YouTube’s encoder guide for the device reference and stream setup guidance.
Connect the encoder to YouTube
For an encoder-based broadcast, create or schedule the live event in YouTube Live Control Room, then enter the YouTube server URL and stream key in the encoder. YouTube’s instruction is: “To start streaming, enter your YouTube Live server URL and stream key into your encoder.” Keep the stream key private; anyone who has it may be able to send video to the channel’s live event.

YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived after the encoder stops sending content. Do not assume that an event exceeding that duration will be archived under the same rule. See YouTube’s encoder instructions for the official setup details.
Plan language changes and live segments
Restream says its playlist feature cannot combine live content with prerecorded media. If a service needs a live pastor introduction, prayer, or closing around recorded sermons, do not plan on inserting those live portions into that automated playlist. Schedule a separate live segment or choose a production workflow that supports the combination.

For separate language broadcasts, prepare and preview each sequence before it goes live. Restream says playlist changes are limited to the pre-live stage, so verify the order, titles, language, and selected files in advance.
