You can turn rights-cleared Hindi lofi MP4 files into a continuous YouTube Live broadcast by creating an encoder-based stream in YouTube Studio, sending it with OBS, and keeping the computer and internet connection running. First confirm the channel is eligible and that your music and visuals are licensed for public livestreaming; owning an MP4 does not grant those rights. If you do not want a computer running at home, a cloud service can loop uploaded files instead.
Before you start: channel access and rights
Check that the channel can livestream
YouTube’s current help guidance says the channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions during the previous 90 days. The stated minimum age for livestreaming is 16. Check your account’s YouTube Studio status and current YouTube Help guidance before scheduling; eligibility and access can be account-specific. YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming.
Clear the music and visuals for this use
Confirm that each track’s license explicitly covers public livestreaming on YouTube, your intended territories and term, monetization if applicable, and keeping an archive afterward. Secure equivalent rights for cover art, backgrounds, animations, and other visuals. Buying a file, crediting the artist, or seeing a “copyright free” label does not by itself establish permission to rebroadcast it.
YouTube says: “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” A match may result in a warning and placeholder image; if the material continues, YouTube may temporarily interrupt or terminate the stream. If you have licensed music that is managed through Content ID, ask the rights owner to add your channel to its allowlist before going live. Archived streams may receive Content ID claims after the broadcast ends. YouTube Help: Copyright issues with live streams.

Prepare the MP4 files and playlist
Inspect the loop, not just the first file
- Check that the audio and video play correctly from beginning to end and that the transition back to the first file is acceptable.
- Listen for silence, abrupt level changes, clipped endings, or gaps between tracks. Check that the video movement is present and intentional; a static or minimally changing image may look different from what you expect in the live preview.
- Arrange tracks and visuals in a deliberate order. If the stream is interrupted or restarted, know which file or playlist position the encoder will resume from.
- Keep a record of licenses and any Content ID allowlisting correspondence alongside the files.
YouTube’s RTMP/RTMPS encoder guide supports H.264, HEVC/H.265, or AV1 video, with AAC or MP3 audio. H.264 video with AAC audio is a practical compatibility choice, not a universal requirement to convert every MP4. OBS’s advice about recording containers concerns recordings made by OBS: it defaults to MKV because an interrupted recording is recoverable, while a standard MP4 recording needs finalization. That does not mean an input MP4 must be converted before streaming. YouTube Help: Live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions · OBS: Recording Formats Guide.
Create the YouTube Live broadcast
- Open YouTube Studio and select Create > Go live.
- Choose the encoder-based streaming workflow in the Live Control Room. Create or schedule the broadcast, then set its title, description, visibility, and other details.
- Copy the stream destination/server URL and stream key shown for the broadcast into OBS. Treat the key like a password: anyone who has it may be able to send a feed to your channel. Do not publish it or share it in screenshots.
- Keep the YouTube Live Control Room open so you can check the incoming feed and stream health before and after starting.
YouTube lists encoders as a way to stream when you want more control over the video setup. Interface labels can change, so follow the current Live Control Room prompts if they differ from these steps. YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming.

Configure OBS and test the outgoing feed
Connect OBS to YouTube
- In OBS, open Settings > Stream, choose YouTube as the service if available, and enter the stream key. If you use a server URL/key workflow, select the matching YouTube destination details from the Live Control Room.
- In Settings > Output, use CBR for the stream encoder. Choose a video bitrate that fits the resolution, frame rate, codec, and reliable upload capacity of your connection; YouTube’s recommended ranges vary by those factors, so there is no single bitrate for every stream.
- In Settings > Video, set the output resolution and frame rate appropriate to your source and system. YouTube’s encoder guidance supports up to 60 fps; avoid choosing settings your connection cannot sustain continuously.
- Use RTMPS where available. YouTube recommends a two-second keyframe interval and says it should not exceed four seconds. Its guide also lists CBR, stereo audio at 44.1 kHz, and 128 kbps stereo audio among its encoder recommendations.
- Add the MP4 or playlist as a media source in your OBS scene, and verify the source is set to loop if you are repeating one file. For a sequence, arrange sources or use a playlist workflow that advances and repeats as intended.
- Start the encoder and inspect the Live Control Room preview and stream-health indicators. Confirm that both audio and moving video reach YouTube before making the broadcast public or announcing it.
Use YouTube’s current bitrate table for your chosen resolution, frame rate, and codec rather than copying a generic number. Test at the settings you intend to keep live, and leave headroom for ordinary fluctuations in upload speed. YouTube Help: Live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions.
Start the broadcast and plan for 24/7 operation
- Once the encoder preview is healthy, use the Live Control Room flow to start the broadcast.
- Check that sound is audible, the video is moving as expected, and YouTube reports no warnings. Recheck at intervals that make sense for an unattended channel and arrange for someone to respond if a policy warning or stopped feed appears.
- For local OBS streaming, keep the computer powered on, prevent sleep, keep OBS running, and maintain a stable internet connection. A power interruption, computer update, crash, or home-network outage can stop the feed.
- Keep a recovery plan: know how to restart the encoder, replace or rotate a compromised stream key, and review YouTube’s warning or claim details. A continuous-broadcast goal is not a guarantee of uninterrupted availability.
Choose between running OBS locally and using a cloud loop
| Consideration | Local encoder (OBS) | Cloud looping service |
|---|---|---|
| Where the files run | Your computer reads the files and sends the encoded stream. | The service provider says its cloud plays uploaded files and sends them to YouTube. |
| What must remain available | Computer, encoder process, power, and home upload connection. | The cloud service and its connection to YouTube; you still need to monitor policy events and stream status. |
| Setup and control | Direct encoder configuration and local maintenance. | Upload-and-playlist workflow, subject to the provider’s capabilities and terms. |
| Recovery evidence | YouTube recommends testing and monitoring; the sources here do not establish OBS automatic recovery by default. | StreamNeo advertises automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. This is a vendor-stated feature, not an independently verified uptime result. |
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud service for looping uploaded videos. Upload your MP4, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live; the cloud keeps the stream running without leaving a computer or home connection on. It advertises automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps is streamed as uploaded at one flat price per slot. The first day is free with no card required (one free day per account). Its monthly plan is $9.99 per month. See StreamNeo or current plan details. Start your free first day on StreamNeo.

Costs, archives, and monetization
OBS is an encoder; these sources do not establish a third-party OBS subscription cost. A local setup still uses your own computer, electricity, and internet service. A cloud service has its own pricing and storage limits, which can change; compare the provider’s current terms before choosing it.
Streaming continuously does not itself qualify a channel for monetization or establish what it will earn. Check YouTube’s current monetization rules separately. Rights must cover both the live broadcast and any archive you retain; YouTube notes that archived streams can receive claims after they end. Do not assume a playlist of prerecorded tracks will be treated as a live performance.

Troubleshooting common failures
- You cannot start a live stream: check verification, the channel’s live-stream restriction status, age eligibility, and the current YouTube Studio prompts.
- YouTube shows a copyright warning or placeholder: identify the matched material and follow the notice. Confirm your license covers livestreaming and territories; if Content ID is involved, contact the rights owner about allowlisting. Do not assume that credit or a purchase resolves a match.
- The preview is black or has no sound: confirm the correct OBS scene and media source are active, the file has finished loading, and the source is not muted. Test the entire playlist and its restart point.
- The feed buffers or stream health degrades: reduce the output bitrate, resolution, or frame rate to settings your connection can sustain, then test again. Use the YouTube bitrate guidance for the selected codec and output.
- The broadcast stops when you leave: a local encoder requires the host computer, OBS, power, and internet to remain available. Disable sleep and check for scheduled updates, or use a cloud loop service instead.
- The stream key no longer works: confirm you are using the key for the intended broadcast, then regenerate or replace it in YouTube Studio if it may have been exposed.
