Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallFor a 24/7 YouTube stream, set OBS to YouTube’s recommended bitrate for your resolution, frame rate, and encoder, then make sure your Indian fiber connection can sustain it with room to spare. For H.264, YouTube recommends 8 Mbps for 720p30, 14 Mbps for 1080p30, and 17 Mbps for 1080p60. Use CBR and a 2-second keyframe interval. These are starting points—not guarantees that a particular connection will stay stable around the clock.
Choose a target bitrate for your resolution and frame rate
Use YouTube’s live-encoder recommendations, not settings intended for uploading a video. The figures below are YouTube’s H.264 live-ingest recommendations; they are not measurements of Indian ISP performance or minimum guarantees.
| Resolution and frame rate | YouTube-recommended H.264 bitrate |
|---|---|
| 720p30 | 8 Mbps |
| 720p60 | 8 Mbps |
| 1080p30 | 14 Mbps |
| 1080p60 | 17 Mbps |
YouTube publishes separate ingest recommendations for H.264, AV1, and H.265. Check which codec your OBS encoder actually uses before selecting a bitrate; do not apply an H.264 figure to another codec. YouTube’s current live-encoder guidance is at YouTube’s encoder settings and bitrates.
Pick a conservative target if the connection varies
If your measured upload capacity is close to the recommended bitrate, or other devices share the connection, use a lower resolution or frame rate rather than running near the best speed-test result. A fiber plan’s advertised speed does not establish the sustained upstream capacity available to your streaming computer at a particular time.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Check upload headroom before going live
Measure upload from the computer and connection you will actually use, ideally at times representative of your normal household or studio activity. Account for other people and devices using the network. YouTube recommends leaving 20% upload headroom and warns that network sharing can constrain a stream. OBS gives 75% of total upload speed as a starting point for choosing a bitrate. Treat these as planning heuristics, not exact or interchangeable guarantees: real performance depends on the connection and competing traffic.
- Do not use download speed as a proxy for upload capacity.
- Do not assume an Indian fiber plan will deliver its headline upload rate continuously at your location.
- If upload speed fluctuates or the line is shared, start below the highest result and test under realistic conditions.
YouTube’s guidance on network reliability and headroom is in its streaming tips; OBS’s connection troubleshooting page explains its 75% starting point and bitrate adjustment advice at OBS streaming issues.

Set the bitrate and encoder options in OBS
- Choose the output target. In OBS, select the resolution and frame rate you intend to send to YouTube. Match the bitrate to the chosen codec and target using YouTube’s live-encoder table.
- Open the bitrate controls. Go to Settings → Output and set the video bitrate in the streaming output settings. The exact control placement can vary by OBS version and selected encoder.
- Use CBR. Select constant bitrate (CBR) for the stream, as recommended by YouTube’s encoder guidance.
- Set the keyframe interval. Set it to 2 seconds. YouTube says not to exceed 4 seconds.
- Use the intended YouTube stream key. In YouTube Studio’s live control room, create or select the stream and copy its stream key into OBS’s stream settings. Keep the key private; anyone with access to it may be able to send a stream to your channel.
The YouTube encoder page gives the protocol recommendations; OBS documents Settings → Output as the place to reduce bitrate when connection-related dropped frames occur.
Test the full setup before relying on it
- In YouTube Studio, create a private or unlisted test stream and connect OBS with the intended stream key.
- Use the same scene, resolution, frame rate, encoder, and bitrate planned for the 24/7 broadcast.
- Include representative motion and audio. A static screen alone may not reveal problems that appear with the real program.
- Check YouTube’s preview and stream-health indicators while the test runs. If OBS reports dropped frames caused by the connection, lower the bitrate in Settings → Output, then test again.
- Repeat under realistic network use, including the other devices likely to be active during the broadcast.
A successful short test is useful but cannot guarantee an uninterrupted stream for an entire day. YouTube cautions that a connectivity disruption can break a stream; neither fiber service nor a speed test alone proves round-the-clock stability.

Choose latency based on how viewers use the stream
If the program is prerecorded or viewers do not need to interact in real time, lower latency may offer little benefit. YouTube notes that lower latency can increase buffering, so do not select it automatically for a 24/7 channel. Choose the latency setting with the audience experience and interaction needs in mind. See YouTube’s latency guidance.
Plan separately for recordings and archives
A YouTube archive is not a dependable backup for a continuous broadcast: YouTube says a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. If preserving the program matters, maintain an independent local recording and check that the recording is actually being saved. YouTube recommends a local archive backup, but its guidance does not establish a specific method for splitting or seamlessly archiving a stream. Details are in YouTube’s archive live streams guidance.
