You can send prerecorded Spanish story videos to YouTube through an encoder, but YouTube does not guarantee that an encoder can keep a prerecorded loop live unattended for 24 hours a day. Set up and test the encoder, classify the stream accurately for children, and plan separately for interruptions and recordings: a stream longer than 12 hours may not be archived.
What a 24/7 prerecorded stream does—and does not—guarantee
An encoder sends a live feed to YouTube; the feed can contain prerecorded stories rather than a camera picture. That does not make YouTube responsible for replaying a file forever, nor does it establish that your encoder will loop unattended or reconnect after a failure. The loop, recovery, and monitoring behavior depends on the encoder or service you use and needs to be tested.
Also distinguish a live broadcast from its replay. A 24-hour stream may stay live for viewers while failing to produce a complete archive afterward. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, but streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. If you need a complete record, make and verify a separate local recording rather than relying on the YouTube archive.
Check channel eligibility and prepare the stream
Confirm that the channel can go live
YouTube’s current live-streaming requirements state that the channel must be verified, must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days, and that the person livestreaming must be at least 16 years old. Check the current YouTube Help guidance and channel status before scheduling a broadcast, because platform requirements and interface labels can change.

Prepare the story material and rights
Gather the video files, narration, illustrations, music, and sound effects you intend to use. You need the necessary rights for the relevant territories and uses, including the live broadcast and any archive. A story being available online, or having permission to read a text aloud, does not by itself establish that you have rights to broadcast its illustrations, recording, background music, or other included material.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches. A placeholder may replace the feed, and the broadcast can be interrupted or terminated if matched material continues. Even a license may not prevent an interruption if required rights-management steps are missing. Check any license terms and rights-management requirements before going live.

Decide whether the content is Made for Kids
Assess the actual intended audience and content; the fact that a story is in Spanish, or that it is a story, does not by itself settle the audience classification. YouTube provides an audience choice in the Live Control Room when creating a live stream. If the content qualifies as Made for Kids, mark it accordingly—do not select another audience setting merely to keep features that would otherwise be restricted.
For content marked Made for Kids, YouTube lists restrictions that include live chat, personalized advertising, channel memberships, notifications, Super Chat, and Super Stickers. Set expectations for parents and viewers without promising those features.

Set up the do-it-yourself encoder workflow
- Open YouTube Studio and prepare a live stream. Use YouTube Studio’s live-streaming workflow to create or prepare the broadcast. Choose the correct audience setting and enter the title, description, and other available broadcast metadata. The exact screen layout can change, so follow the current labels in Studio.
- Get the stream key and server details from YouTube’s live setup. YouTube’s encoder workflow uses a Live server URL and stream key. Treat the key like a password: enter it only in the encoder you control, do not show it in a tutorial or screenshot, and use YouTube Studio’s current controls if you need to replace or reset it.
- Configure an encoder on a computer. An encoder such as OBS can send a feed to YouTube. Enter the server URL and stream key in its streaming configuration, then set the broadcast metadata and any available latency or DVR options you need. YouTube’s recommendations and encoder controls can change; use the current YouTube guidance and encoder documentation rather than copying a bitrate or resolution from an unrelated setup.
- Add the prerecorded story feed. Configure your encoder to send the prepared video material rather than a camera feed. If your chosen encoder offers a loop or playlist function, configure it there and confirm how it advances between files. Do not assume that creating a YouTube live event alone makes the video repeat.
- Match output settings to the source and connection. Choose a resolution, frame rate, and bitrate that your encoder and upload connection can sustain, and use the encoder and YouTube’s current recommendations for keyframes and other stream settings. The available guidance here does not establish one correct numeric bitrate or resolution for every Spanish story video, so avoid treating a single preset as universal.
- Start a private or otherwise controlled test before the public broadcast. Confirm that YouTube receives the feed, that the picture and audio are clear, that the intended video advances or loops as configured, and that the event metadata and audience setting are correct. Check what viewers can see and hear, including transitions, pauses, credits, and any music.
- Go live and monitor the broadcast. Start the encoder’s stream and confirm in YouTube’s live controls that the feed is arriving as expected. Keep a way to monitor both the encoder and the viewer-facing stream. If continuity matters, create and test a separate recovery procedure; YouTube’s general encoder support is not a promise of unattended restarts or uninterrupted service.
Plan for long-stream archives and viewer controls
Do not rely on a 24-hour replay
YouTube says a stream shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived and warns that a stream over 12 hours may not be captured at all. Therefore, a single continuous 24-hour broadcast does not assure viewers a complete replay. If preserving the stories matters, record locally, check that the recording is complete and playable, and make any intended replay available as a separate upload subject to your rights and YouTube’s rules.
Expect DVR limits on a very long live feed
DVR lets viewers pause and rewind during a broadcast, but YouTube says DVR can be limited or unavailable on streams over 12 hours. Do not promise viewers that they can rewind to any point in a full-day stream.

Protect the channel’s editorial and monetization standing
YouTube’s monetization rules apply to live streams. In a policy update dated July 15, 2025, YouTube renamed “repetitious content” as “inauthentic content” and clarified that repetitive or mass-produced material is ineligible for monetization. A collection of original stories with meaningful creative variation is a stronger editorial proposition than many minimally changed copies of the same template, but no format guarantees YouTube Partner Program eligibility.
For content marked Made for Kids, personalized advertising is not shown and the feature restrictions described above apply. Do not forecast earnings from continuous playback or assume that a 24-hour schedule will be monetized.

Troubleshoot common problems
- YouTube does not receive the encoder feed: Check that you used the current Live server URL and the correct stream key from YouTube Studio, and that the encoder is actively sending. Keep the key private while checking it.
- The stream starts, but the story does not repeat: Check the encoder’s own media-source or playlist configuration. A YouTube live event does not itself establish a loop; test the selected encoder’s loop behavior before relying on it unattended.
- The live feed is interrupted by a copyright match: Identify the matched story, audio, illustration, or other material and stop or replace it as appropriate. Confirm that your rights cover the live use and any archive, including any required rights-management steps.
- Viewers cannot use chat or another expected feature: Check the stream’s audience classification and the restrictions YouTube applies to Made for Kids content. Do not change a correct audience designation just to restore a restricted feature.
- The broadcast is live but no complete replay appears: A stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured as an archive. Use the verified local recording if you need a complete copy.
- The computer or encoder stops sending: Diagnose the computer, encoder, and internet connection, then follow your tested restart or recovery procedure. The reviewed YouTube requirements do not specify a minimum computer model or guarantee that a particular computer will remain online for 24 hours.
