To stream a Hindi playlist from an Indian VPS, create or schedule an encoder stream in YouTube Studio, copy its stream URL and key into OBS, then add your video files as a looping source. Match OBS’s output to the VPS’s sustained encoding and upload capacity, and test the actual playlist before the broadcast. The setup works only if the chosen VPS can reliably run the encoder and send its stream; YouTube and OBS guidance does not certify a particular provider or plan.
Before you start: check channel access and VPS suitability
Confirm your channel can go live
YouTube’s current live-streaming help says the channel must be verified, must not have live-streaming restrictions within the previous 90 days, and the user must be at least 16. Check eligibility before configuring OBS: YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
Check the VPS against the job
An “Indian VPS” is not one fixed environment. Before committing to a provider or plan, confirm sustained CPU capacity for encoding, a supported graphics/runtime environment for OBS, outbound bandwidth and transfer limits, and the provider’s rules for long-running traffic. Test the exact operating system and configuration you intend to use. OBS’s source documentation explains media playback, but does not establish a universal headless Linux setup or guarantee that a VPS will stay live unattended.
Create a YouTube encoder stream and copy its credentials

In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live, then open the Stream tab. Create a new encoder stream or schedule one for later. You may be able to reuse a previous stream key. See YouTube’s encoder stream setup instructions.

In Live Control Room, copy the stream URL and stream key. The key is a credential: YouTube describes it as the password and address used to send the feed. Keep it out of screenshots, public configuration files and logs.

In OBS, open Settings → Stream, choose YouTube as the service, and enter the copied stream key. If OBS asks for or allows a server URL, use the stream URL shown in Live Control Room. Save the settings.

If the key is exposed, reset it in YouTube Live Control Room and replace it in OBS. A key can be reused when appropriate, but treat it as secret. Details: Manage live stream settings.
Make the Hindi playlist loop in OBS
The language of the videos does not change the setup. Choose the source type according to whether you have one file or several, and confirm you have permission to stream every video and audio track.

In the OBS scene where the playlist should appear, select Sources → + → Media Source.

Create a source, select the local video file, and enable Loop. Check that the file’s audio is routed through the scene’s audio mixer.

Preview the scene and let playback reach the end once, if practical, to confirm it starts again as expected.

Install VLC on the VPS. OBS’s VLC Video source depends on VLC being installed; without it, the source may not appear.

In OBS, select Sources → + → VLC Video, create the source, and add the video files in the order you want them played.

Enable Loop Playlist, then preview the transitions and audio levels. OBS documents the single-file loop and VLC playlist options in its Media Sources guide.
Choose OBS output settings that the VPS can sustain
Set a resolution and frame rate the VPS can encode continuously while preserving enough outbound bandwidth. YouTube’s recommended bitrate depends on resolution, frame rate and codec, so do not treat one profile’s bitrate as universal. For a concrete reference, YouTube recommends 8 Mbps for H.264 at 720p30. Its guidance also recommends constant bitrate (CBR) and a two-second keyframe interval; the interval should not exceed four seconds. Consult the profile-specific values in YouTube’s encoder settings and bitrate guidance.
- Resolution and frame rate: Choose an output profile the actual VPS can encode reliably. Higher resolution or frame rate can require more encoding capacity and bitrate.
- Rate control: Use CBR as recommended by YouTube for the encoder stream.
- Keyframes: Set a two-second interval; do not exceed four seconds.
- Protocol: Use RTMP or RTMPS as supported by the YouTube/OBS setup.
- Hindi content: The language itself does not alter the encoder profile. Check that spoken audio, music and video are all authorized for livestream use.
Allow upload headroom and test before the scheduled start
YouTube recommends about 20% upload bandwidth headroom above the total stream bitrate. Measure outbound performance from the VPS rather than relying on its advertised download speed. If you configure a backup feed, count its bitrate as well when checking total upload demand. See YouTube’s streaming tips.

Prepare the stream and playlist ahead of the planned broadcast. Start OBS early enough for YouTube to receive the encoder feed.

Wait for the Live Control Room preview. Check that the intended video appears, audio is audible and levels are not clipping, and the stream status is healthy.

Open the watch page and verify that viewers can see and hear the stream. Begin the scheduled broadcast only after the preview and watch page behave as expected.

Monitor playback and audio after launch. A successful initial connection does not prove the VPS will remain stable for a long unattended run.

Plan for long runs, replays and rights
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume that a stream longer than 12 hours will produce one complete archive. If a replay matters, plan a shorter broadcast or separately preserve the source files and verify the resulting archive.
Hindi songs, devotional recordings, film clips and other playlist material may be protected even when widely available online. You are responsible for having the rights or permissions needed to livestream each item; the setup steps do not grant those rights. YouTube’s guidance also states limits of 10 active streams per channel and three active streams per stream key. Check the current rules and restrictions in YouTube’s live-streaming help.
Troubleshooting common setup problems
