If you want a pre-recorded video to loop on YouTube 24/7 without leaving a computer running, StreamNeo is the cloud option to consider first. Restream, Livepush, and StreamYard make more sense when you need their particular cloud distribution or browser-studio features.
Which Livepush alternative fits a one-channel budget?
The right choice depends on whether you need to produce a live show, distribute one feed to multiple destinations, or keep uploaded video streaming continuously. These are different jobs: a local encoder such as OBS handles production and sends a feed to YouTube; a multistream relay distributes a feed to connected destinations; a browser studio adds production tools and may also distribute the show.
| Option | Best fit | What the available plan information says | Main tradeoff |
|---|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | A pre-recorded video or playlist that should run on YouTube 24/7 from the cloud. | One always-on YouTube stream per slot, with uploaded video played as made, up to 4K 60fps; one flat price per slot for any supported quality. The first day is free, with no card required. | It plays uploaded videos, not a live camera feed, and streams to YouTube only. |
| OBS Studio direct to YouTube | One-channel streaming when the creator is comfortable operating local software. | OBS is free and open source. YouTube publishes encoder settings, including recommended H.264 bitrates of 5 Mbps for 1080p30 and 6 Mbps for 1080p60. | You manage production and encoding on your own computer; OBS is not a cloud relay or browser studio. |
| Restream | A cloud service for creators who may add other channels or destinations. | Restream’s listed plans include Free with two channels and branding, Standard at $19/month for three channels, and Professional at $49/month for five channels, Full HD 1080p streaming, and 4K recording. | For one YouTube destination, paid channel capacity may be unnecessary. Listed monthly prices were accessed 2026-10-03; confirm billing and checkout terms. |
| Livepush | Cloud fan-out, or a workflow needing longer streaming hours, pre-recorded events, or scheduling. | Livepush lists Free with 20 streaming hours per month, up to 10 platforms, and one simultaneous stream, with some destinations restricted. Pro is $15/month or $13/month billed annually. Creators is $39/month or $32.50/month billed annually and includes a 24/7 schedule channel and video looping. | The free monthly hour ceiling can matter for frequent or long broadcasts, and multistream features may exceed a single-channel need. Figures are vendor plan claims in the Livepush Help Center. |
| StreamYard | A browser-based studio, particularly when production simplicity or guests matter. | Its Help Center lists 3 destinations on Core, 8 on Advanced, and 10 on Business. Its product page advertises a $20/month annual starting price for new users for the first year. | It is a production-and-distribution product, not simply a free local encoder; the advertised price is an introductory first-year offer, not a universal ongoing rate. |
Plan prices and limits can change, and the figures above are not an apples-to-apples ranking: the products include different mixes of production, distribution, recording, and continuous playback.
Start with OBS if you only need one live YouTube feed
OBS Project describes OBS Studio as free and open-source software for video recording and live streaming. It supports scenes and audio mixing, so it suits a creator assembling a live program locally. It does not remove the need for a computer and network connection during the stream.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?

#1 Best Overall
- Install and prepare OBS. Create scenes for the sources you intend to show, then check that audio meters respond and that the preview looks correct. Confirm your computer meets the current OBS technical requirements; no specific hardware suitability is established here.
- Get YouTube’s stream key. In YouTube Studio, open Create > Go live, then use the stream setup for an encoder. Copy the stream key and keep it private: anyone with it may be able to broadcast to your channel.
- Connect OBS to YouTube. In OBS, open Settings > Stream, select YouTube as the service, and enter the key if it is not supplied through an account connection. YouTube recommends RTMPS, a secure extension to RTMP.
- Set encoder output. Use H.264 video with constant bitrate (CBR), and set the keyframe interval to 2 seconds. YouTube recommends 5 Mbps for 1080p at 30 fps and 6 Mbps for 1080p at 60 fps. These are YouTube’s recommendations, not a guarantee that a particular upload connection can sustain the stream.
- Check the preview before going live. Start the stream from OBS and verify the incoming preview and audio in YouTube Studio before starting the public broadcast. Monitor dropped frames and YouTube’s stream health while live.
- End the broadcast deliberately. Stop the stream from OBS when finished, and confirm the live control room has ended the broadcast. Do not share the stream key in public or reuse a compromised key.
Copyright and repeat content still apply
Using an encoder or relay does not grant rights to the video, music, game footage, or other material in the broadcast. Use content you own or have permission to stream, and check YouTube’s copyright and monetization rules before scheduling repeated or prerecorded material. A technically successful continuous stream does not by itself establish eligibility for monetization or compliance with YouTube policies.
When a cloud alternative is worth paying for
Choose Restream when adding destinations is the actual need
Restream’s cloud distribution becomes relevant if you expect to send the same feed to other channels or platforms without producing separate uploads from your own connection. Its free plan is listed for two channels with Restream branding; the paid Standard and Professional tiers increase channel capacity. A solo YouTube broadcaster should weigh those extras against the fact that only one destination is being used. See Restream’s pricing plans.

- Compact for travelling
Choose Livepush for its specific caps or scheduling features
Livepush may suit a creator who wants a cloud relay and expects to use multiple destinations, needs more than the Free plan’s stated monthly streaming hours, or wants the Creators plan’s 24/7 schedule channel and video looping. Those plan details are stated by Livepush and should be checked on its plans and pricing page before subscribing. Its multistreaming overview describes its distribution model.
Choose StreamYard for a browser production studio
StreamYard is better compared with a studio workflow than with a bare encoder: its browser-based production is useful when a creator values an easier production setup or guest participation. Destination counts vary by Core, Advanced, and Business plan, while the product page’s annual entry price is advertised for new users’ first year. See StreamYard’s multistream guidance and multistreaming page.

Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is a prerecorded YouTube stream that stays live while your computer is off, StreamNeo is the more direct fit than a local encoder or a multistream studio. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo loops the uploaded video from the cloud; nothing has to stay running at home. It streams the upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. Every slot includes 10 GB storage, pooled across active slots, plus playlists, 24/7 looping, and StreamNeo team support. See StreamNeo or start the free first day.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to keep the total cost low
- Count destinations first. If YouTube is the only destination, direct OBS streaming avoids paying for distribution capacity.
- Count hours, not just platforms. Livepush Free’s stated 20-hour monthly limit may be more important than its up-to-10-platform capacity if you stream often or for long sessions.
- Separate production from always-on playback. OBS is suited to a locally produced live show; StreamNeo is for looping uploaded video continuously from the cloud.
- Compare the billing term and eligibility. Restream’s figures are listed monthly rates accessed 2026-10-03; Livepush gives monthly and annual-billing figures; StreamYard’s cited entry figure is a first-year annual offer for new users. Check region, taxes, plan eligibility, billing duration, and checkout totals before paying.
- Don’t buy capacity you won’t use. Extra destinations, 4K recording, guest tools, or scheduling only justify their cost if they solve a real part of your workflow.
For a direct YouTube stream, YouTube says it transcodes streams into output formats, so a relay should not be assumed to improve picture quality. The encoder settings and the platform’s processing remain important.
