For a single lesson, add it to OBS as a Media Source and enable Loop. For an ordered run of lessons, use VLC Video with Loop Playlist. In both cases, OBS repeats the video source while YouTube receives the live output encoded by OBS. For a reliable broadcast, use YouTube’s recommended encoder settings, verify your upload capacity, and test the complete loop—including Telugu audio, text, and subtitles—before going public.
Choose the right OBS source for your lessons
| Setup | Best for | Loop setting | What to check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Media Source | One lesson video | Enable Loop in the source properties. | Confirm the ending returns cleanly to the beginning, including audio. |
| VLC Video | A playlist of lesson files | Enable Loop Playlist. | Install VLC; OBS notes that 64-bit OBS requires 64-bit VLC. Keep Shuffle off if lesson order matters. Check source visibility behavior if changing scenes. |
OBS documents the Media Source Loop option as replaying the file once playback completes. VLC Video is the playlist option; its availability depends on VLC being installed. See the OBS Project’s Media Sources documentation and Sources Guide.
Set up and loop the video in OBS
One lesson: Media Source
- In the OBS scene you plan to broadcast, select Sources and choose + > Media Source.
- Create a new source, or select an existing one, then browse to the lesson video file.
- Enable Loop in the source properties and confirm the source is visible in the scene.
- Play through the end once. Check that playback restarts as intended and that the transition does not leave an unintended blank or silent interval.
Several lessons: VLC Video playlist
- Install VLC in the architecture that matches OBS. OBS’s documentation says 64-bit OBS requires 64-bit VLC for this source.
- In Sources, choose + > VLC Video, then add the lesson files to its playlist.
- Arrange files in the required teaching order and enable Loop Playlist. Leave Shuffle off if viewers need lessons in a fixed sequence.
- Test the last file returning to the first. If your broadcast uses scene changes, check what happens when the VLC source is hidden and shown again.
OBS’s Media Sources page describes the loop controls and source behavior. OBS’s broader Overview Guide also recommends testing scene configuration and stream smoothness before relying on a broadcast.
Connect OBS to YouTube Live
- Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room and create or select the stream. Use the stream URL and stream key shown there in OBS’s stream settings. Exact labels may vary with YouTube Studio updates.
- Treat the stream key like a password. Do not show it in a screen capture, lesson, or public post. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update OBS with the new key.
- If this is your channel’s first live stream, allow for activation time: YouTube says live streaming may take up to 24 hours to become enabled.
- Before going public, confirm the stream’s privacy and schedule in the Live Control Room, then start OBS and check that YouTube receives the signal and reports stream health.
See YouTube Help on creating a live stream with an encoder and managing live stream settings.

Use encoder settings that fit your resolution and connection
YouTube’s current encoder guidance calls for RTMP or RTMPS transport, constant bitrate (CBR), an accepted video codec (H.264, H.265/HEVC, or AV1), and a keyframe interval of 2 seconds; do not exceed 4 seconds. YouTube recommends RTMPS for encrypted transport. Set OBS’s output resolution and frame rate to the format you actually intend to send, then choose a bitrate that your encoder and upload connection can sustain.
The figures below are YouTube’s published H.264 recommendations for these specific resolution and frame-rate combinations; they are platform guidance, not a promise that a particular PC or connection will hold the stream.

| Output | YouTube H.264 minimum | YouTube H.264 recommended | Practical consideration |
|---|---|---|---|
| 720p at 30 fps | 3 Mbps | 8 Mbps | Can be a sensible choice when lesson text is readable at 720p or upload capacity is more limited. |
| 1080p at 30 fps | 5 Mbps | 14 Mbps | May make diagrams and on-screen writing clearer, but needs more upload capacity and can add encoder load. |
These bitrate examples are for H.264 at 30 fps; do not assume the same figures apply unchanged to another codec, frame rate, or resolution. Consult YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions guidance for your chosen output.
Check upload capacity, not just download speed
Run a speed test that reports upload speed. YouTube recommends keeping 20% upload headroom and cautions that download speed may be higher than upload speed. For example, if you choose a 14 Mbps video bitrate, the connection needs additional upload capacity beyond that video bitrate to preserve the recommended margin and accommodate stream overhead. If the available upload is variable, choose a lower sustainable output rather than targeting the highest setting that briefly appears possible. YouTube’s streaming tips cover upload bandwidth and testing.

Check Telugu lesson playback and viewer experience
The cited OBS and YouTube guidance does not specify a separate codec, bitrate, or color setting for Telugu. Language alone does not change the encoder requirements. The practical check is the actual material: play a representative lesson and verify Telugu script rendering, subtitle timing, text size and contrast, pronunciation and audio clarity, and any diagrams or moving examples at the selected output resolution.
Choose latency based on whether viewers need to interact with you live. For a prerecorded lesson loop without live interaction, lower latency may not help; YouTube notes that lower latency can increase buffering risk. DVR availability can let viewers pause and resume a live stream, but check the current stream settings rather than assuming a specific playback behavior. YouTube explains these controls in Manage live stream settings.

Run a full test before the broadcast
- Play a representative lesson with the same motion and audio you will stream; inspect the beginning, middle, and end.
- For a playlist, verify every transition and confirm that the final lesson returns to the first in the intended order.
- Check Telugu characters, subtitles, audio levels, and legibility on the output—not just in the source file.
- Confirm the OBS output resolution, frame rate, codec, CBR bitrate, and 2-second keyframe interval.
- Start a private or otherwise appropriately limited test stream, then inspect YouTube’s stream health and messages while OBS is sending.
- Confirm that you have permission to use every lesson video, music track, image, and other asset in the broadcast. Neither an OBS loop setting nor an encoder setting grants rights to the underlying material.
YouTube specifically recommends testing with representative audio and movement and monitoring stream health and messages during the event. See its encoder guidance.

| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check or do |
|---|---|---|
| The lesson stops after playing once. | Loop is disabled or the wrong source type is being used. | For one file, open Media Source properties and enable Loop. For a playlist, enable Loop Playlist on the VLC Video source. |
| VLC Video is missing from the source menu. | VLC may not be installed, or its architecture may not match OBS. | Install VLC and match architectures; OBS specifies 64-bit VLC for 64-bit OBS. |
| Lessons play in the wrong order. | Playlist order or Shuffle setting is incorrect. | Reorder the playlist and turn Shuffle off when sequence matters. |
| The live stream disconnects or buffers. | Upload capacity may be insufficient or unstable for the selected bitrate. | Measure upload speed, preserve YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom, and lower the output bitrate or resolution if needed. Check YouTube stream health and messages. |
| YouTube receives no video after OBS starts. | The selected stream key or stream configuration may not match, or live streaming may not yet be enabled. | Check the stream URL and key in YouTube Studio and OBS; first-time enablement may take up to 24 hours. |
| Telugu text looks wrong or is hard to read. | The issue may be in the source rendering, subtitle file, or chosen output scale. | Inspect the actual stream test at the target resolution; verify the source and subtitles render correctly before publishing. |
| The stream goes blank after a scene change. | The media source’s visibility or playback behavior may affect what is output when hidden. | Test hiding and restoring the relevant source or scene, and consult the OBS source documentation for its visibility behavior. |
Or let it run in the cloud
If you want the YouTube channel to keep looping uploaded lessons without leaving OBS or a computer running at home, StreamNeo runs the uploaded video from the cloud. The setup is: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, then go live. It is for prerecorded uploads to YouTube, not a camera broadcast.
