No—not for a live feed that depends on the computer you turn off. StreamVoodoo’s documented workflow uses a browser and the participant’s camera and microphone. Its FAQ describes OBS or vMix as separate tools for taking those feeds into a broadcast; the documentation reviewed does not describe a cloud handoff that continues the participant’s feed when their computer is off.
Why turning off the computer interrupts the feed
StreamVoodoo describes its WebApp as connecting live video feeds through a browser. To start a room, a user signs in, selects a room and display name, grants camera and microphone permissions, and shares an invitation link. That setup relies on a compatible device, software, and internet access. StreamVoodoo’s terms also note that device, software, and internet performance can affect use.
Because the camera and microphone feed originates from the participant’s device, assume that feed and the participant’s live session stop when that computer is shut down. The official material reviewed does not spell out the shutdown scenario directly, so this is an inference from the documented browser-based capture and device requirements—not a reported shutdown test.
StreamVoodoo room versus an OBS or vMix broadcast
A StreamVoodoo room and the software that sends a finished production to a streaming destination are separate parts of the workflow. The distinction matters because either stage can depend on a computer that must remain on.

A Magic Link provides the output of an individual video with sound and can be used as an input to OBS or vMix. That is a way to route a feed into production software; it does not mean StreamVoodoo continues capturing from a powered-off participant’s device, or that a local switcher keeps broadcasting without its computer.
What to check before a live session
- Keep the capture device on and connected. A live participant feed depends on the device supplying it, along with its browser and internet connection.
- Keep the production computer running if you use OBS or vMix. StreamVoodoo’s FAQ describes those as downstream tools for recording or sending a production onward; it does not document an automatic cloud continuation when that computer is off.
- Use wired Ethernet for the highest-quality video settings. StreamVoodoo’s FAQ says an Ethernet connection is required for those settings to perform as intended. A wired connection can help with connection quality, but it does not keep a session running after shutdown.
Troubleshooting: the broadcast stops or a feed disappears
A participant’s feed disappears
Check whether the participant’s computer is still on, connected to the internet, and running the browser session. Also check that browser camera and microphone permissions remain granted. If the participant shut down the device, the documented workflow provides no stated cloud takeover for that feed.

The StreamVoodoo room still works, but the outgoing broadcast stops
Check the separate production stage: whether OBS or vMix is still running on its computer and whether the outgoing connection to the destination or RTMP server is active. The FAQ describes these applications as the tools used to take feeds onward, but does not promise that the broadcast continues when the computer running them is turned off.
Video quality does not perform as expected
For StreamVoodoo’s highest-quality settings, its FAQ recommends a wired Ethernet connection. This addresses connection quality, not whether a powered-off computer can keep sending video.
