Short answer: The Beelink Mini S12 Pro with an Intel Processor N100 is a reasonable low-cost candidate to test for a simple, prerecorded nature-ambience stream. Its listed 16 GB of memory, 500 GB SSD and gigabit Ethernet make it a plausible starting configuration, and Intel lists Quick Sync Video support for the N100. But no evidence here establishes it as a tested 24/7 winner, proves that its complete system can sustain your OBS setup, or measures its electricity use. Test your actual scene and recovery process before relying on it unattended.

“24/7 nature stream” can mean two different jobs. Decide which one you have before buying a computer.
Looping prerecorded video

Live camera or an OBS production
A camera feed, capture device, browser source, animated overlay, filters, or a scene assembled in OBS needs a live encoder. That may be a mini PC running OBS or another live production setup. More sources, processing and simultaneous local recording can raise the workload substantially; a simple video loop is not equivalent to a complex scene.
Best low-cost mini PC candidate: Beelink Mini S12 Pro
The Beelink Mini S12 Pro with Intel N100 is a reasonable low-cost candidate to investigate for a simple stream, not a proven best-in-class choice. Beelink’s product page lists an N100 configuration with 16 GB DDR4 memory, a 500 GB SSD, gigabit LAN, Wi-Fi 6 and a quiet CPU fan and heat sink. Those are manufacturer-listed details, not independent validation of sustained OBS performance or noise under your workload. The page may not reflect the current bundle in every region, so verify the exact memory, drive, operating system, seller, price and warranty before buying.
Intel’s N100 specifications list four cores and four threads, turbo frequency up to 3.40 GHz, 6 MB cache, Intel UHD Graphics with 24 execution units, Quick Sync Video, a maximum memory size of 16 GB and 6 W TDP. Intel’s specification page, accessed in 2026, lists the processor’s launch as Q1 2023. The 6 W figure is the processor TDP, not the mini PC’s measured wall-power draw. None of these specifications establishes how reliably a complete Mini S12 Pro will run your particular OBS scene around the clock.

Why it is only a candidate
OBS Project’s system requirements page, published August 25, 2021 and accessed in 2026, cautions that compatible hardware does not by itself guarantee streaming or recording capability. OBS’s requirements vary with the encoder, output resolution, frame rate and scene complexity. Intel lists Quick Sync Video for the N100, which makes hardware encoding worth checking in your actual operating system, drivers and OBS version; it does not prove that your chosen settings will work well.

Check these requirements before you buy
Output quality and scene complexity
Write down the resolution and frame rate you intend to send to YouTube. Then account for every OBS source, filter, overlay, capture device and any local recording. A static loop can be less demanding than a multi-source production, but only a test of the complete scene can show whether the machine keeps up.

Encoder and software support
Confirm that your operating system, graphics drivers and OBS version expose the hardware encoder you intend to use. YouTube’s current live encoder guidance lists H.264, H.265/HEVC and AV1 video codecs, up to 60 fps, constant bitrate (CBR), and recommends a two-second keyframe frequency that should not exceed four seconds. Use settings appropriate to your selected resolution, frame rate and available upload capacity; don’t assume every codec or encoder option will be available in your exact OBS setup.
Network and physical installation
- Prefer the Mini S12 Pro’s gigabit Ethernet connection where practical. Wi-Fi 6 is listed by Beelink, but a wireless link can still vary with distance, interference and the router.
- Test upload speed and stability at the location where the PC will run. YouTube advises matching stream quality to the connection and testing with audio and movement similar to the real broadcast.
- Check ventilation, ambient temperature and fan noise in the intended location. A manufacturer’s quiet-fan description is not a noise measurement for your room or workload.
- Plan for what happens after a power interruption, operating-system restart, OBS crash or lost connection. A machine that starts streaming successfully once is not thereby proven to recover unattended.
Configure and test an OBS stream before leaving it on
- Confirm the whole workload. Install the operating system, updates, graphics drivers and OBS version you plan to keep. Build the real scene, including audio, overlays, filters and capture devices, rather than testing an empty scene.
- Choose output settings for the connection. Set the intended resolution and frame rate in OBS, select an encoder supported by your actual software and hardware, and configure CBR. YouTube’s current guidance recommends a two-second keyframe interval and says not to exceed four seconds. For H.264 at 1080p and 60 fps, YouTube lists 17 Mbps as a recommended bitrate; check its current encoder table for other resolutions, frame rates and codecs rather than reusing that figure indiscriminately.
- Set up YouTube’s live stream. In YouTube Studio, create or select the live stream and obtain its stream key. Enter that key in OBS’s stream settings, taking care not to publish or share it: anyone with access to the key may be able to broadcast to your stream. YouTube recommends RTMPS. Exact Studio labels can change, so follow the current live control-room prompts.
- Test under representative conditions. Run the stream with the same audio and degree of movement as the planned broadcast. YouTube says to test before going live, then monitor stream health and any messages. Check OBS for encoding or dropped-frame problems, and confirm the audio, picture and bitrate at the YouTube end.
- Run an extended validation. Let the complete setup run long enough to expose heat, memory, network or encoding problems. Verify what happens after a planned restart and a brief network interruption. A short successful test cannot establish months of unattended operation.
- Document recovery. Decide how OBS starts after a reboot, how the computer reconnects, and how you will notice a failure. Test those steps rather than assuming they work. If uninterrupted operation matters, consider whether you need a backup power plan or a way to check stream health remotely.
Costs and trade-offs
The mini PC’s purchase price is only part of the decision. You will also need to account for the display or peripherals needed during setup, network service, and electricity. The N100’s 6 W TDP is not a basis for calculating a monthly electricity bill: that requires measured whole-system consumption under your workload and your local electricity rate. A plug-in power meter can help establish actual consumption; no measured Mini S12 Pro energy figure is established here.

Common problems and what to check
OBS is compatible, but the stream stutters or drops frames
Compatibility is not proof of performance. Check OBS statistics and YouTube stream health, then reduce resolution, frame rate, scene complexity or bitrate as appropriate. Check whether the encoder is using the intended hardware path, and test the network over Ethernet if available.
The stream looks poor despite a fast connection
Verify that OBS and YouTube are using the intended resolution, frame rate, codec and bitrate. Confirm CBR and the recommended keyframe interval. Check YouTube’s current settings guidance for the exact output format; a bitrate recommendation for 1080p60 H.264 does not automatically apply to another mode.
The picture works but audio is missing or wrong
Inspect the OBS audio source, selected input and output tracks, and verify the sound in the YouTube preview or control room. Include representative audio in the preflight test rather than adding it after the stream has been left unattended.

The stream stops after an outage or restart
Check whether the PC restarted, OBS relaunched, the network reconnected and the YouTube stream resumed. Test each step deliberately. The N100 or Mini S12 Pro specifications do not establish automatic recovery behavior.
The machine gets hot or noisy
Check that vents are unobstructed and the device is installed in a ventilated place. Re-test with the complete scene running. Beelink’s quiet-fan description is a manufacturer claim, not a guarantee of acoustics or thermal behavior under continuous load.
Copyright and YouTube channel considerations
Nature footage, background music, ambient recordings and other included material can all raise rights questions. Use footage and audio you own or are authorized to stream, and retain evidence of licenses or permissions. A 24/7 loop does not grant rights to material merely because it is ambient or widely available online. Check YouTube’s current copyright rules and live-stream notices before broadcasting, and review its channel monetization policies separately if monetization is a goal; permission to use material and eligibility for monetization are different questions.
