Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallIf audio starts in sync but gradually falls behind or moves ahead during a long YouTube Live stream, first check the audio devices’ clocks and sample-rate settings. If the audio is off by the same amount from the start, measure that fixed delay and correct it with an OBS sync offset instead. A fixed offset cannot cure a gap that keeps growing.
No India-specific OBS sync setting is established by the guidance cited here. Use the same capture-chain checks regardless of location, and investigate your network route only when connection diagnostics point to a delivery problem.
First distinguish drift from a fixed delay
Watch or listen near the start of a stream and again when the problem is obvious. Audio that is already out of sync by roughly the same amount suggests a stable offset. Audio that becomes increasingly early or late over time suggests a timing mismatch, such as independent clocks in separate audio devices. These problems need different fixes; measure before changing offsets. OBS-Studio.net’s long-session troubleshooting guide discusses this distinction.
- Stable gap: measure the delay and adjust the relevant source’s sync offset in OBS.
- Growing gap: check sample rates and the audio-device chain before considering any fixed offset.
Compare the local recording with YouTube
Make a local OBS recording while reproducing the stream setup. Compare its audio and video near the beginning and after the period when the sync problem usually appears. Also check the YouTube live output or archive, if available. This is an isolation check: it helps you see whether the mismatch is present in the local output or appears in the platform output, but does not by itself prove the cause.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Record when and where you notice the gap, and preserve your existing OBS profile or settings before changing anything. Make one change at a time, then repeat a test long enough to cover the point at which the fault normally appears; there is no universal test duration established by the cited guidance.
Match sample rates across the audio chain
Check OBS Settings → Audio and the operating system’s sound or device control panel. Inspect each microphone, capture device, mixer and virtual cable used in the stream. Set their sample rates consistently and verify channel configuration as appropriate. The YouTube Live health-status documentation recommends 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz. Matching devices at 48 kHz is a practical common choice, but consistency across the chain matters.

- Note the sample rate selected in OBS under Settings → Audio.
- Open the relevant operating-system or device control panels and check every audio device in use.
- Set the devices to match OBS, then run the same long-session comparison again.
If YouTube reports a configuration warning, use it as an additional diagnostic. In particular, if you send primary and backup streams, check that their audio sample rates match; YouTube documents mismatched primary/backup rates as a configuration issue.
Check whether separate devices have independent clocks
A setup that takes audio from multiple independently clocked USB devices—for example, a USB capture device and a separate USB microphone—can be more vulnerable to timing differences over a long session. If sample rates already match but the gap still grows, test routing the sources through one audio interface or mixer, then repeat the comparison. This is conditional troubleshooting, not a guarantee that new hardware will fix the issue. Confirm that separate device clocks are relevant before buying anything. The specialist troubleshooting guide describes consolidating audio through one interface as an option.

Apply an OBS sync offset only to a stable gap
When the delay is consistent rather than growing, measure it using the actual scene and capture path you intend to stream. In OBS, open Edit → Advanced Audio Properties and adjust the sync offset for the relevant audio source based on that measurement. Repeat the check in a local recording and, where possible, the YouTube output.
Do not choose an arbitrary millisecond value or expect a fixed offset to track a changing gap. If the offset varies over time, return to sample-rate and device-clock checks.

Use OBS and YouTube diagnostics to separate network issues
Check OBS’s Stats window for connection symptoms. OBS says rising dropped frames indicate an unstable connection to the remote streaming server or a bitrate the connection cannot sustain. That is a reason to investigate bitrate, network stability and the route to the ingest server—not proof of audio clock drift. OBS’s stream connection troubleshooting guide explains this distinction.
Dynamic bitrate may help manage congestion, but it does not address the underlying connection problem and can reduce stream quality. Treat rendering or encoding performance indicators separately from connection-dropped-frame counters. Viewer buffering is also a distinct symptom; OBS’s buffering troubleshooting guide covers viewer-side and platform considerations.

Review YouTube’s stream health and configuration messages for audio sample-rate warnings or primary/backup mismatches. If the local recording is in sync but the YouTube output is not, keep that difference in your diagnosis rather than changing every OBS source offset without evidence.
What India changes—and what it does not
The cited OBS and YouTube guidance does not establish a special India-only sync adjustment or show that being in India causes audio drift. Apply the same device, sample-rate and output-comparison checks. A local network route or ISP may matter if OBS reports rising connection-dropped frames, but that evidence concerns delivery conditions; it does not establish the cause of a growing capture-clock mismatch.
Troubleshooting by symptom
| What you observe | What to check | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Audio is off by a similar amount throughout | Measure the stable gap in the actual scene and signal path. | Adjust the relevant source’s sync offset in Advanced Audio Properties and verify again. |
| Audio starts in sync, then gradually moves out | Check OBS and device sample rates, then consider whether separate audio devices have independent clocks. | Match rates; if appropriate, test routing through one interface or mixer and repeat a representative long-session check. |
| Local OBS recording is in sync, but YouTube output is not | Compare the platform output and inspect YouTube stream-health messages. | Keep the local/platform distinction in your diagnosis; check configuration warnings rather than blindly offsetting all sources. |
| OBS reports rising connection-dropped frames | Connection stability, bitrate and route to the remote ingest server. | Follow OBS connection troubleshooting. Do not treat dropped frames alone as proof of audio drift. |
| YouTube flags audio configuration or primary/backup mismatch | Sample rates for the audio stream and any backup feed. | Use a supported rate and align the primary and backup settings. |
Or let it run in the cloud
If you are setting up a YouTube channel to loop uploaded recordings around the clock, StreamNeo is a separate cloud option rather than an OBS sync fix: upload a recording or playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Your computer and home connection do not have to stay on; it streams uploaded videos to YouTube, not from a camera. Every slot streams your upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly: $9.99 per month. See StreamNeo, or start the free first day.
