Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteWindows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallYou can keep a meditation podcast live on YouTube by sending a prepared audio-and-visual feed through an encoder such as OBS, using the stream URL and key from YouTube Studio. The key limitation is that YouTube warns a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured as a replay at all. If preserving replays matters, record locally and plan shorter sessions rather than relying on one uninterrupted 24-hour event.
What you need before you start
- A verified YouTube channel with live streaming enabled and no live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days. First-time activation may take up to 24 hours, so enable it ahead of your launch.
- A computer and an encoder. OBS is a free, open-source option for arranging scenes, audio, and a stream. YouTube also supports hardware encoders; an expensive setup is not a prerequisite.
- Your finished podcast audio and a visual scene, such as a still image or gently animated background. A microphone is needed only if you are recording new spoken audio, not simply streaming a prepared recording.
- A stable internet connection with enough upload capacity for the stream’s total bitrate, plus storage space if you plan to keep local recordings.
- Permission to use every element in the broadcast, including music, backing tracks, spoken material, sound effects, and artwork.
YouTube’s encoder workflow does not require a camera. For a prerecorded meditation podcast, the encoder sends the prepared audio and visual feed.
Set up the live stream
- Enable live streaming. In YouTube Studio, start the live-stream setup and complete any channel verification or eligibility steps. Allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation.
- Create or schedule the event. In YouTube Studio’s live-stream workflow, choose an encoder stream and set the title, description, visual, and privacy. Scheduling creates a watch page that you can promote; it does not itself play content continuously or restart a disconnected encoder.
- Build the scene in your encoder. Add the podcast audio and a suitable image or animation. Check that the audio is audible and consistent, that the visual is correct, and that the scene does not expose private information or unintended desktop activity.
- Connect the encoder to YouTube. Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for the event in YouTube Studio into the matching fields in OBS or your chosen encoder. Treat the stream key like a password: anyone who obtains it may be able to send video to that stream.
- Test before announcing the stream. Start the encoder, check the Live Control Room preview, and verify that the watch page is available on the devices your audience is likely to use. Make a local recording during the test and confirm the file is growing and the audio plays correctly.
- Go live and keep watch. Monitor the Live Control Room, audio and video quality, network connection, and local recording while the broadcast runs. YouTube’s operational guidance recommends arranging the encoder in advance, starting it before the event, checking the preview, and verifying that the event appears on watch pages and mobile devices.
Choose between one long broadcast and shorter sessions
A live feed and its replay archive are different things. A stream can be available while it is live without YouTube producing a complete replay afterward. YouTube Help says, “If your stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all.” Streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, but YouTube recommends keeping a local archive as a backup.
If a replay is important, end each session before it reaches 12 hours and start a new session. YouTube’s guidance does not prescribe an ideal interval or guarantee how a particular schedule will affect watch-page continuity, notifications, or audience experience. Choose a schedule that fits your listeners and test it before making it routine. Keep local recordings regardless of whether you split sessions.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
DVR is separate from archiving. It lets viewers pause and resume, but on very long streams it may be limited or unavailable. Do not promise viewers that they can rewind to the beginning of a continuous 24/7 broadcast.
Keep the feed stable
Match bitrate to upload capacity
The combined stream bitrate must fit within the available upload bandwidth. YouTube recommends leaving 20% headroom and notes that upload bandwidth can be lower than download bandwidth. The 20% figure is YouTube’s recommendation, not a guarantee against interruptions. Test at the resolution and bitrate you intend to use, especially if other people or devices share the connection.

Test the actual computer and scene
Encoder load varies with the encoder selected, resolution, frame rate, and scene complexity. OBS’s requirements guidance cautions that meeting baseline requirements does not guarantee a computer can stream or record successfully. There is no single computer specification that ensures a 24/7 meditation stream will run reliably: test your own setup at the intended settings, and simplify the scene if performance is poor.
Keep a local recording and manage storage
Local recording gives you a copy that does not depend on YouTube’s archive behavior. Check that the file is growing during the broadcast, make sure the recording destination has enough free space, and periodically verify that recordings are playable. Long sessions create large files, so plan how you will rotate, move, or delete them without filling the system drive.

Clear rights for every part of the meditation feed
YouTube’s livestream terms place responsibility on the content provider to have the necessary rights for worldwide use of live content on Google services, including music rights, and to comply with applicable laws and YouTube guidelines. Check rights for music, sound baths, backing tracks, spoken recordings, and artwork, including material reused from an earlier podcast episode. A purchase or licence for one platform does not automatically establish permission to livestream the material on YouTube or retain it in a YouTube archive.
Troubleshoot common problems
- YouTube will not let the channel go live: Check channel verification and live-stream eligibility in YouTube Studio. If live streaming has only just been enabled, allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation.
- The encoder will not connect: Confirm that the correct event’s stream URL and key are entered, that the key has not been changed, and that the encoder is sending to the scheduled event you intend to use. Keep the key private.
- The preview is missing or the watch page cannot be found: Confirm the event’s privacy and schedule in YouTube Studio, start the encoder, and check the Live Control Room preview before directing viewers to the page.
- Video or audio breaks up: Check stream health and available upload bandwidth. Reduce the stream’s bitrate or settings if the connection cannot sustain them, and retest with other household or workplace network use taken into account.
- The computer struggles or the encoder drops frames: Test at the intended resolution and frame rate, then reduce scene complexity or adjust the encoder settings. CPU demand depends on the selected encoder and workload; baseline computer requirements are not a performance guarantee.
- The stream is live but there is no complete replay: A broadcast that exceeds 12 hours may not be captured at all. Check your local recording; for future sessions, end before the 12-hour mark if YouTube’s automatic archive is important.
- Viewers cannot rewind far back: DVR may be limited or unavailable on very long streams. It is not the same as a saved replay, so use local recordings and shorter sessions when rewind or replay access matters.
Or let it run in the cloud
If you do not want a computer and home internet connection to remain on, StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud service for keeping an uploaded video or playlist live. Upload the recording, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It loops from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home; the video streams as uploaded up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month. It plays uploaded videos rather than going live from a camera. Start the free first day.
