To play and loop a playlist in YouTube’s own player, arrange and loop it in YouTube. To show a sequence of videos inside a Streamlabs Desktop broadcast, the available Streamlabs documentation does not establish a built-in way to load a YouTube playlist URL or automatically advance through multiple local video files.
First decide where the playlist should play
A YouTube playlist and a sequence of media sources in a Streamlabs Desktop scene are different things. YouTube controls the order and looping of its own playlists. Streamlabs creates the broadcast scene; its documented media sources and Media Share widget do not establish that a YouTube playlist can be loaded as a source or that a set of local files will play sequentially.
- Want viewers to watch videos in YouTube’s playlist player? Arrange the playlist in YouTube and use the player’s loop control.
- Want the videos to appear one after another inside your Streamlabs broadcast? The documentation cited here does not confirm native ordered playback for multiple local files. Check the media-source options in your installed build or consult documentation for that specific version before relying on it.
Arrange and loop a playlist in YouTube
Change the order
- Open the playlist in YouTube on desktop.
- Drag videos up or down in the list to set their order.
- If you are creating a playlist in YouTube Studio, choose an arrangement when setting it up.
YouTube says reordering is unavailable for playlists made up only of Shorts. See YouTube’s playlist instructions for the current controls.
Repeat the playlist
- Play a video that belongs to the playlist.
- Expand the playlist panel in the YouTube player.
- Click the loop control in the playlist box.
This repeats the playlist in YouTube’s player. It is not a Streamlabs Desktop source setting. YouTube documents the player control in its playlist looping help.

What Streamlabs Desktop documents—and what it does not
Streamlabs’ getting-started guide explains adding sources and widgets to a scene. Its Media Share guide describes a viewer-requested video widget; Streamlabs says it typically lets viewers request a video when sending a tip. Neither establishes a fixed, ordered playlist of local files or loading a YouTube playlist URL as a native source.
An older Streamlabs article discusses media files such as MP4, GIF, and MP3 as sources and describes looping media, but that is not documentation of automatic sequencing across multiple files. Do not assume that looping one media source means Streamlabs will advance through a collection. Check the current properties of the media source in your installed version, and verify the behavior with a private or unlisted test stream before using it live. The exact current version and platform behavior for sequential local-file playback is not established here.

Check rights before streaming video or music
You are responsible for having the necessary rights for both the live stream and its archive. YouTube’s Livestream terms require rights for live content, including applicable music licensing rights. YouTube also scans live streams for third-party content; detected material can lead to a warning, interruption, or termination. Even when you have a license, a rights holder may need to allowlist your channel for the content to remain live. Review YouTube’s live-streaming copyright guidance and confirm that your permissions cover the planned use.
