To show the current video title in a vMix YouTube playlist stream, create a vMix Title input with a text field, update that field for each playlist item, and bring the title in through an overlay channel. You can change the text manually or use vMix Web Scripting and the HTTP API to sequence the update and overlay. The key limitation: the official vMix documentation cited here does not establish an automatic link between a playlist’s current item name and a title field. If you want the card to update without an operator, you must configure and verify how each item’s title reaches the field.
Set up a now playing title input

Add a Title input in vMix, choosing a built-in template or a custom title created with GT Designer. vMix describes Title inputs as a way to add titles and lower thirds, and says text can be edited from the input’s right-click menu. See the vMix Title documentation.

In the Title Editor, create or identify a text field for the current program or video title. Use the field’s actual name, not an assumed default. For a GT title, the API field name includes the
.Textsuffix; for example,Headline.Text. The field name is template-specific. The vMix User Guide documents the API and title text fields. -
Position and style the title so it is legible over the video: check its placement, contrast, size, and safe margins in the output preview. These are design choices rather than automatic playlist settings; preview the title over representative gameplay footage before taking it live.

Choose how the title changes with the playlist
Manual updates
For a playlist advanced by an operator, edit the Title input’s text when you advance to the next video. This is the simplest workflow, but someone must keep the displayed title aligned with the video that is actually playing.
API and Web Scripting updates
For a repeatable sequence, use vMix’s HTTP API SetText function to change the title field, then use Web Scripting to bring the title in, leave it visible for a chosen interval, and take it out. In the API request, identify the title input by name or GUID, set SelectedName to the exact field name, and set Value to the text to display. Follow the API’s field-name requirements, including case where applicable. The vMix Web Scripting documentation describes sequencing functions and the Sleep command; special characters in values may need URL encoding.
This illustrative pattern is adapted from the documented function sequence; it is not a tested production script. Replace the input, field, title, overlay channel, and delay with the names and timing for your setup:

Confirm that the correct title input and field are selected and that the overlay channel used by your production is the one being controlled.
Coordinate the card with playlist playback
vMix PlayList supports sequential video playback and provides controls including Loop, Manual Mode, Next, and Previous. Decide whether an operator will advance items or playback will proceed automatically, then align the title-update action with that choice. The vMix PlayList guide describes these playlist controls.

vMix Triggers documentation describes OnCompletion for video and list inputs when playback reaches the end, assuming Loop is not enabled. A completion event may be useful in a workflow that changes a title between items, but the documentation cited here does not give a general recipe for extracting the next playlist item’s name and inserting it into the title field. Test the trigger, item transition, text update, and overlay timing together using the production playlist before relying on them live. See vMix Triggers documentation.
What can and cannot be automated

A vMix Title input can use a built-in title or a custom GT Designer title.

The API can set the text of a named title field, and Web Scripting can sequence that update with overlay-in, a delay, and overlay-out.

PlayList controls can sequence and loop playback, while triggers can respond to video completion under the documented conditions.

The cited official documentation does not establish automatic playlist-item-name-to-title binding. A script that displays the right title still needs a reliable source for each item’s text.
Troubleshoot a title that is missing or out of sync

The text does not change: Check that the title input name or GUID is correct and that

The title changes but does not appear: Check that the title is assigned to the overlay channel your script calls, and that the overlay-in function targets the correct input and channel.

Special characters are missing or malformed: URL-encode characters in the API value as needed, then test the rendered text in vMix.

The card shows the previous video’s title: Confirm that the update is triggered at the right point in the playlist transition and that the next item’s title is actually supplied to
SetText. Do not assume a completion trigger supplies playlist metadata by itself. -
The title never clears: Verify that the script reaches its overlay-out function and that the delay and overlay channel are correct. Test the full sequence rather than only the text update.

A completion trigger does not fire as expected: Check the trigger configuration and whether Loop is enabled; the cited trigger documentation describes
OnCompletionwhen playback reaches the end, assuming Loop is not enabled.
