How to Schedule a YouTube Livestream in XSplit Broadcaster—and What to Know About Prerecorded Video

Create the YouTube event before selecting it in XSplit. Learn how Manual Transition works, how scheduled uploads differ, and what event scheduling does not automate for prerecorded video.

To schedule an XSplit-powered YouTube livestream, create the event in YouTube Studio first, then select that event in XSplit Broadcaster and start the encoder feed. Scheduling the event does not, by itself, schedule or play a prerecorded file: the event is the YouTube livestream, while the video playback is a separate production step. The official instructions available here do not establish the exact current XSplit controls for adding and looping a local video file, so this guide covers the verified scheduling workflow without inventing media-source settings.

Choose between a scheduled livestream and a scheduled video

Use a scheduled livestream when you want an event-style broadcast supplied by an encoder such as XSplit. The event has a scheduled start, and XSplit sends its video and audio feed when you start broadcasting.

Use YouTube’s scheduled publishing when you have a finished video that should simply become public at a chosen date and time. That workflow uploads the video to YouTube and schedules its publication; it is not an XSplit encoder livestream. YouTube’s instructions are at Schedule video publishing.

Check channel eligibility and prepare ahead

  • Your YouTube channel should be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days, according to YouTube Help’s live-streaming guidance.
  • XSplit says first-time YouTube Live enablement can take up to 24 hours. Check eligibility early rather than waiting until the event day. See XSplit’s YouTube Live setup guidance (updated October 11, 2025).
  • YouTube recommends setting up the encoder at least two hours before the event and starting it at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time. Use the Live Control Room preview to check the incoming stream, accessibility, audio and video. These are preparation recommendations, not a guarantee that a particular setup will work. See YouTube’s live-streaming tips.

Create the scheduled event in YouTube Studio

  1. In YouTube Studio, open Go Live, then choose Manage.
  2. Select Schedule Stream.
  3. Complete the event details and customization, choose the visibility and scheduled date and time, then finish the setup to reach the stream setup page. Check the date, time zone, visibility and event details before sharing the event with viewers.

XSplit’s setup article describes creating the scheduled YouTube event before connecting Broadcaster: Setting Up a Scheduled Stream on YouTube. That article was updated November 8, 2022, so labels may differ slightly in a newer YouTube Studio interface.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Connect XSplit Broadcaster to the scheduled event

  1. Open XSplit Broadcaster and choose Broadcast, then select the existing YouTube Live output.
  2. In Broadcast Details, choose the event you created from Live Event List. The event information should populate the dialog.
  3. Review the event details and transition behavior, then start the broadcast in XSplit when you are ready to send the encoder feed.

These steps connect XSplit’s broadcast output to the scheduled event. They do not establish how to add a local prerecorded file, set it to repeat, or automate its playback; consult current XSplit media-source documentation for those separate controls. XSplit’s workflow is documented at its scheduled-stream guide.

Understand Manual Transition before starting

XSplit’s documented default has Manual Transition checked. In that state, starting the XSplit broadcast sends the feed but does not itself make the YouTube event live: open YouTube Studio and click Go Live when the preview is ready. If you uncheck Manual Transition, starting the XSplit broadcast automatically starts the YouTube stream. Choose the behavior deliberately, and test it before the event so you know whether a separate YouTube confirmation is part of your run-of-show.

Where prerecorded playback fits—and what is not established

A prerecorded file can be the content of an encoder feed only if it is actually brought into the production being sent by XSplit. The official event-scheduling steps above do not say that selecting a scheduled event loads a file, starts playback at the event time, or loops it. Because the precise current XSplit media-source procedure is not established by the sources cited here, do not rely on event scheduling alone for unattended playback. Verify the relevant XSplit controls and test the complete path—including audio, video and looping—before announcing a broadcast.

If you only need a video to appear on your channel later, use scheduled video publishing instead. If you need the appointment, live event page and encoder-supplied broadcast experience, schedule a livestream and plan separately how its content will be produced.

Troubleshoot common scheduling problems

The scheduled event is missing from XSplit

  • Confirm that the event was created and saved in YouTube Studio before opening the XSplit event list.
  • Check that Broadcaster is using the intended YouTube Live output and the correct YouTube account or channel.
  • If YouTube Live has only just been enabled, XSplit says approval may take up to 24 hours; verify channel eligibility and try again after activation.

XSplit is broadcasting, but the YouTube event is not live

If Manual Transition is checked, this is expected until you choose Go Live in YouTube Studio. If you expected automatic start, review the Manual Transition setting and confirm it is unchecked.

The event is live, but the prerecorded video is not playing

Event selection and encoder connection do not verify file playback. Check the separate XSplit media source, its playback state and audio routing using current XSplit guidance, then test the entire workflow before the scheduled time.

The channel cannot start a livestream

Check channel verification and whether a live-streaming restriction applies within the prior 90 days. For first-time enablement, allow the activation time XSplit describes rather than troubleshooting the encoder as the only possible cause.
