XSplit has documented loop options for video sources, but the exact current control label can vary by version—and repeating a file does not itself make the join between its ending and beginning seamless.
Set up a loop for one video file
- Add the clip: In your scene, choose Add Source > Video File and select the local video. XSplit describes this source as a way to add video files in different formats; its documentation lists common formats such as MP4 and WebM, but does not promise support for every codec or file variant. See XSplit’s Image, Video, and Audio Source guide.
- Open source properties: Right-click the video source and open its properties. Look for the Playback area. XSplit says these controls manage playback settings, but the support article does not enumerate a complete current set of labels.
- Enable repeat playback: XSplit’s Broadcaster 3.0 release history documents loop options for individual video sources. That feature note dates to June 2017, so use it as evidence that looping is supported, not as confirmation of a current checkbox name or menu layout. Check the controls available in your installed version.
- Test the wrap point: Preview the clip through its end and into the next playback. If the control is not where expected, consult the current version’s source properties rather than relying on an old screenshot.
XSplit’s support guide describes the Playback controls as allowing you to control a video or audio file’s playback settings. It does not establish a special “seamless” switch.
Choose the right source for multiple clips or visuals

The source descriptions appear in XSplit’s Sources Menu introduction and its Broadcaster product information. Select by content: a single clip, a continuous sequence of clips, or a visual slideshow are different jobs.
Make the loop itself feel seamless
A loop setting repeats playback; it does not edit the file’s boundary. For a smooth visual loop, prepare the clip so its last frame and first frame connect naturally. For audio, listen across the wrap and edit the ending and beginning so there is no abrupt change, silence, click, or mismatched ambience. These are media-editing considerations, not a documented XSplit seam-removal feature.

- Use motion, framing, and lighting that can plausibly return to the opening state.
- Check the final and first frames together, not only the middle of the clip.
- Listen at the boundary with headphones or speakers; a visually clean join can still have an audible pop or change in room tone.
- Preview more than one repeat. A seam can become more noticeable when the viewer knows to expect it.
XSplit’s reviewed official material does not certify visual or audio continuity at the wrap point. If seamlessness matters, verify the media file rather than assuming the repeat control will hide a mismatch.
Troubleshoot a black video source
If the source shows black, XSplit’s troubleshooting guide recommends changing video processing to Prefer GPU. It also suggests unchecking Use Media Foundation Engine for video playback; XSplit notes that this option is available only when video processing is set to Prefer GPU. These are black-source troubleshooting steps, not fixes for a visible loop seam. See XSplit’s guide to sources that display black.
