Possibly, but it is not confirmed by the official documentation. XSplit Broadcaster supports streaming to YouTube, but its setup guide does not say whether a broadcast keeps running when the app is minimized, and the documentation reviewed does not guarantee an uninterrupted 24/7 session. Test your exact Windows setup and monitor the live stream before relying on it unattended.
What XSplit and YouTube officially confirm
XSplit’s guide explains how to enable YouTube Live, authorize your account, configure a YouTube output, and start it from the Broadcast menu. YouTube also lists XSplit Broadcaster as a software encoder. Neither source addresses what happens to the broadcast when you minimize XSplit, nor promises a continuous 24-hour session. XSplit’s YouTube streaming guide and YouTube’s encoder instructions establish YouTube support, not minimized-window behavior or 24/7 reliability.
So the practical answer is conditional: minimizing may work on your particular XSplit and Windows configuration, but you should not assume it does. A live preview on your own screen is not enough; confirm that the public YouTube player remains live and that audio and video continue after minimizing.
Test minimized streaming before depending on it
- Set up the YouTube output. In XSplit, enable YouTube Live, authorize the account, and configure the output using the steps in XSplit’s guide. Start the broadcast from the Broadcast menu.
- Use a representative test. Test the same resolution, frame rate, audio, and kind of motion you intend to stream. YouTube recommends testing with representative audio and motion, choosing settings that fit the connection, and checking stream health and messages. See YouTube’s encoder settings.
- Minimize XSplit and verify the viewer experience. Check the YouTube player from a separate device or browser session. Confirm that playback continues, sound remains present, and the stream-health indicators do not show a problem.
- Keep monitoring during a longer trial. YouTube advises creators to continuously monitor streams for audio and video quality. Network disruption can interrupt a stream, so a successful short test is not proof of unattended 24/7 operation. Its tips recommend leaving 20% bandwidth headroom. See encoder settings and YouTube live streaming tips.
Check the PC and connection against your target quality
XSplit’s published minimum requirements list Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), 8 GB RAM, a GeForce- or Radeon-class GPU with DirectX 10.1 or better, broadband internet, and 500 kbps minimum upload for live streaming at its lowest settings. These are XSplit’s stated minimums, not a recommended upload rate for HD or higher-quality streaming. Check YouTube’s resolution- and frame-rate-specific encoder table, then test your actual connection with headroom rather than treating 500 kbps as enough for every format. - 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Plan separately for a 24-hour recording
YouTube’s help page says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That statement does not establish that an entire 24-hour broadcast will be archived in full. If you need a complete copy, arrange a local recording or verify YouTube’s current behavior before the broadcast; do not rely on the under-12-hour guidance as a guarantee for a 24-hour stream. YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance.
If minimized operation is unreliable, choose a workflow for the job
For live gameplay or camera production, XSplit remains a software-encoder option, but its operation depends on the Windows PC and network remaining available. For scheduled prerecorded playback without a computer, YouTube’s encoder directory identifies different options: cloud services Gyre and Upstream, and the AJA HELO Plus hardware encoder, described as supporting scheduled prerecorded streaming without a computer. These are distinct workflows, not fixes for XSplit’s minimized-window behavior. The available descriptions do not provide a controlled reliability comparison, so they cannot establish which option is most reliable. YouTube’s encoder directory.
