Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteIf YouTube audio is out of sync, first replay the same passage and check whether the problem affects one video or several, then compare another app and another audio output if you can. The right fix depends on how you’re watching—through a TV app, Chrome casting, or an external streaming device—and whether the sound comes from the TV or a soundbar or receiver.
One important qualification: the Astra documentation identified for this guide describes Astra 1.4.0 as a Jellyfin client for Fire TV running Vega OS 1.2 or later. It does not establish YouTube support or document an Astra-specific YouTube audio-sync fix. The steps below therefore follow the relevant Google, Samsung, and LG support guidance for their own playback routes and devices; menu names can vary by model and software version.
Identify where the YouTube lip-sync problem occurs
Before changing a TV-wide audio setting, note three things: whether the offset stays constant, whether it affects one video or multiple videos, and whether it also happens in another app or through the TV’s own speakers. These comparisons help separate a source-specific issue from a problem in the cast, TV, or external audio chain.
- One video or channel only: try another video. LG says a sync problem confined to a particular channel is highly likely to be a broadcast-signal problem.
- Several videos or apps: check the route and audio equipment next; a persistent mismatch may involve the TV, streamer, soundbar, or receiver.
- Only an external speaker system: compare with TV speakers, if available. This can help show whether the delay is introduced by the external audio path.
Use the instructions for the device and route you actually have. Do not apply a menu path for Google TV Streamer, Samsung, or LG to Astra unless your hardware and software match that product’s guidance.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
If you cast YouTube from Chrome
Google’s casting guidance applies specifically to content cast from Chrome. Try its restart sequence before changing TV audio offsets:
- Stop casting, close the Chrome tab, reopen the tab and the same content, then cast again.
- Close applications on the computer that are draining its battery or resources.
- Keep the computer, Wi-Fi router, and Google streaming device within 5–6 metres (15–20 feet) of one another, ideally in the same room.
- Reboot the Google streaming device by disconnecting its power for about one minute, then reconnect it. Removing the device from the TV’s HDMI port alone does not reboot it.
If you use Google TV Streamer
Google’s device-specific troubleshooting for Google TV Streamer focuses on the HDMI and audio chain. Check these items in order, consulting the TV, receiver, or soundbar manual for the exact menu labels:

- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
- Check the HDMI cable and the eARC arrangement in the connected setup. Google specifies an Ultra High Speed HDMI 2.1 certified cable for its streamer setup; check the cable and equipment capability before considering a replacement.
- Restart the streamer. If needed, reboot the router as well.
- Look for an audio-offset adjustment on the TV, receiver, or soundbar.
- Set the streamer’s audio output format to Automatic. Google cautions that connected media equipment must support a manually selected format such as Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Digital, or PCM stereo.
- Turn off Dialogue enhancement and Volume leveller, then test with surround sound disabled.
These are Google TV Streamer instructions, not Astra settings or a general YouTube fix.
If the sound is ahead of the picture on a Samsung TV
For supported Samsung TVs, Samsung UK documents this path: Settings > Sound > Expert Settings > Digital Output Audio Delay. If sound arrives before the picture, move the slider right to increase the delay. Menu availability and names can vary by model and software version, so check your TV’s manual.

Samsung notes that wireless streaming can cause sync delays and recommends checking supported codecs and software updates. Make a small adjustment and retest rather than assuming that one setting will suit every source or audio device.
If you use an LG TV
LG’s sync controls differ by webOS generation and setup. Follow the path for your software version, and check the TV manual because availability varies by model.

LG’s guidance limits the described eARC/ARC applicability to TV speakers or supported Sound Share devices. If only one channel has the problem, LG says the broadcast signal is highly likely to be the cause; distinguish that from a mismatch affecting multiple channels or apps.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Retest before keeping a global audio adjustment
After a change fixes the same passage, check another video or app and, if possible, the other audio output. A TV or sound-system delay setting can improve one route while creating a mismatch elsewhere. If the problem is limited to one source, avoid treating a broad setting as a universal fix.
When the mismatch still has no clear cause
- Confirm whether you are using a native app, Chrome casting, or an external streamer; instructions for one route may not apply to another.
- Compare TV speakers with the soundbar or receiver, and check whether the equipment’s manuals describe an audio-offset control.
- Check for software updates and supported audio formats where the manufacturer’s guidance recommends them.
- Do not buy a soundbar, receiver, router, or replacement TV based only on an audio-sync symptom. The guidance here supports isolating the route, checking settings, and restarting equipment—not replacing hardware.
