PROJECT: PLAYTIME is a free-to-play, online 6-vs-1 multiplayer horror game for Windows. Steam lists Windows 10 64-bit, 8 GB RAM, and a GTX 1050 or Radeon RX 580 as minimum requirements. More importantly for anyone considering a download, Mob Entertainment announced on July 27, 2026 that it is ending operations and plans to close the servers later in 2026; the announcement did not give an exact closure date.
What is PROJECT: PLAYTIME?
Developed and published by Mob Entertainment, PROJECT: PLAYTIME launched in Early Access on Steam on December 12, 2022. It is an online team-based horror game: six Survivors face one player-controlled Monster. The Survivors solve puzzles and assemble a large toy while trying to stay alive.
The official Steam description casts Survivors as factory workers retrieving giant toy parts from closed-off areas. They use a GrabPack—two extendable arms for grabbing objects, solving puzzles, and interacting with doors. The listing names Huggy Wuggy, Mommy Long Legs, and Boxy Boo as playable Monsters, each with character-specific abilities. It also describes Survivor perks and Monster Sabotages.
Steam’s description lists two maps and three playable Monsters, but its Early Access section cautions that older development information may be outdated. Treat those details as what the listing says, not a guarantee of the current live build.

Is PROJECT: PLAYTIME shutting down?
Yes. In an announcement published July 27, 2026, Mob Entertainment said it had decided to end operations for PROJECT: PLAYTIME and was moving toward server closure later that year. The announcement said further timing and transition details would follow, but did not specify a closure date. Check Mob Entertainment’s Steam Community news for the latest official update before relying on online play being available.
The game may still appear on Steam, but a visible store page does not establish how long its online services will continue. Steam also continues to label it Early Access and warns that older development details may no longer be current; the later shutdown announcement is the relevant guide to its service direction.

Price and in-game purchases

It may suit players looking for an asymmetric multiplayer horror game who can meet the listed PC requirements. But because the developer has announced that operations are ending and server closure is planned for later in 2026, downloading it now carries a practical limitation: online access may not remain available indefinitely, and the date is not established in the announcement. Check the developer’s latest notice before deciding whether to install or spend money on in-game content.
