To remove one game, open Help > Steam Support, find the title, and select “I want to permanently remove this game from my account” if Steam offers it. The label does not guarantee the game can never be restored: a Steam Community answer says restoration may be possible through Support, but Steam’s official documentation does not establish that as policy. If you only want to hide the title or limit what others can see, use Steam’s separate options instead.
How to remove one game from your Steam account
- Sign in to Steam and open Help > Steam Support in the client, or open Steam Support in a browser.
- Find the game under Games, Software, etc. or search for its title.
- If the option appears, select “I want to permanently remove this game from my account” and follow the confirmation prompts.
This game-specific route is described in a Steam Community discussion, not in an official Steam FAQ. The options available on your account’s current Support page are the practical guide. The same community answer says a removed game may be restored by contacting Steam Support; treat that as community guidance, not a guaranteed or official reversal policy.

Hide a game instead of removing it
Hiding is for tidying your own Library, not deleting a license. To show a hidden game again, Steam’s missing-games guidance says to open View > Hidden Games, right-click the title, then choose Manage > Remove from Hidden.
Make a game private to other Steam users
If the concern is what other people can see, use Mark Private. Steam’s Steam Private Games FAQ says this hides ownership and activity from other users while leaving the title visible to you in your Library. Private is a visibility setting, not account removal.

Deleting a Steam account is a separate, broader step
Removing one game is not the same as deleting your account. Steam’s Account Deletion – Common Questions says account deletion is permanent and removes game licenses and associated account information. Steam requires proof of ownership and queues the request for 30 days; you can cancel during that period. Deletion does not automatically refund purchases. Read the FAQ carefully before requesting it.

Uninstalling removes the local game installation from your device; it does not itself remove the game from the Steam account. Steam also associates games with the account where they were purchased or activated, as described in its account and contact-email FAQ.
