To reduce the chance that a Samsung Galaxy phone suspends Larix Broadcaster during a YouTube livestream, set Larix’s battery use to Unrestricted, add it to Never sleeping apps, and turn Power saving off while streaming. These settings reduce avoidable background restrictions; they cannot guarantee an uninterrupted 24/7 broadcast.
Change Larix’s battery settings

Allow unrestricted battery use
Open Settings → Applications, select Larix Broadcaster, tap Battery, then choose Unrestricted if it is offered. Samsung documents this path for Android 12 / One UI 4.0. Menu names and locations can differ on other Galaxy models and software versions; if you cannot find the setting, search Settings for “Larix” or “battery.”
Android’s battery modes have different effects: Unrestricted permits background work but may use more battery; Optimized applies background limits based partly on app use; and Restricted can prevent background execution. Android Developers describes these modes in its “Background optimization” guidance.

Exclude Larix from automatic sleeping
On Galaxy devices with this menu, go to Settings → Battery and device care (or Device care) → Battery → Background usage limits → Never sleeping apps → +, select Larix Broadcaster, then tap Add. Samsung’s application management can place apps in sleeping or deep-sleeping states based on usage patterns; adding Larix to this exception list is separate from changing its Android battery mode.

Turn off Power saving for the broadcast
Disable Power saving before a continuous stream. Samsung says this mode restricts background access to Wi-Fi and mobile data, and may also limit location services. Those restrictions can interfere with an app that needs to keep sending a live video feed.
Samsung’s support instructions describe different menu routes and labels across software versions. Its Android 12 / One UI 4.0 guidance is version-specific, and its US battery guidance says it was written based on Android 13. Search the phone’s Settings if the path differs, then verify the choices on the Galaxy device you will actually use.

What the settings can—and cannot—do
Softvelum’s Larix FAQ says, “Your app will work in background until you close it explicitly.” It describes Android background streaming as available when Larix is in the background or the device is locked. That is a statement about app capability, not a promise of uninterrupted operation across every Samsung model, app release, software version, network, or power condition.
Samsung Developer documentation also notes that, with One UI 6 and Android 14, foreground services from apps targeting Android 14 are guaranteed to work as intended only when developed in line with Android’s newer foreground-service API policy. This platform requirement does not establish Larix’s target SDK or certify a particular Larix release.

Plan for power and network limits
Power and heat
Samsung identifies bright displays, longer screen-on periods, high-resolution streaming, location, and other active services as battery-drain factors. Lowering screen brightness and closing services Larix does not need can reduce unnecessary consumption. Do not disable capture or connectivity functions required by the broadcast.
A compatible USB-C PD adapter and cable may help maintain power during a long session, but the guidance cited here does not establish a particular charger, wattage, thermal outcome, or guarantee of uptime. Check the charging requirements for your exact phone before choosing accessories.

Network quality
Battery settings do not fix a weak or unstable connection. Softvelum notes that RTMP and RTSP can show frame loss when network conditions worsen. Its FAQ says SRT attempts error recovery within its configured latency period and recommends Adaptive bitrate where the network may be unreliable. A selected bitrate is a target, not a guarantee that a degraded connection can sustain it. Choose a stable connection and test the complete setup before relying on a long broadcast.

Larix’s background capability and Samsung’s battery exceptions can help keep a phone available for streaming, but they do not remove the practical constraints of running a high-draw, network-dependent session on a mobile device. If the goal is simply to keep uploaded video looping on a YouTube channel, a cloud service avoids depending on a powered-on phone and its local connection.
